Samsung EPIC 4G :: Charge Battery For 30 Hours / But At 70%
Oct 4, 2010I forgot to charge my phone the other day, so this thing has been off charge for 30 hrs and I'm at 70% battery.

View 23 RepliesI had bluetooth, 4G, wifi, screen on the brightest, 20 apps running at once, screen timeout at 30 min, and sprint tv playing, and it took me 4 hrs to drain my battery....is there a faster way? I was hoping I could drain it in like 2 hrs lol. I'm trying to condition my battery!
View 10 Replies View RelatedMinimal use, but still. Probably about 20 texts and checked email 3 or 4 times. Currently unplugged for 12+ hours and my battery is at 90%!
Let me first say, I'm rooted and running a noobnl's Andromeda custom ROM, bloatware is removed, OmaDRMconfigService.drm removed.
3G and wifi off by using Quick Settings (from market) except when in use.
I've had this phone since day one and I've ran the battery down almost every day and only had minimum "low battery" alerts but tonight I am getting a warning flash on the screen every 10 seconds saying "Low Battery: Please Charge Battery". Seriously, every 10 seconds and it started at 15% battery left.so I have at least 30-60 minutes of life left.
View 6 Replies View RelatedAnyone else experience this? Is there any way to get the phone to keep charging after it gives that "battery is full message"?
View 15 Replies View RelatedMy phone reads: 5h 32m 55 s since unplugged. And its at 5% now. Isn't this abnormally low? I used it somewhat frequently but not all the time or heavily by anymeans. Also, GPS and wifi and bluetooth were all off using the android power control widget. My battery usage shows: 42% android system, 25% camera (i took like 10 pics, nothing crazy), 13% cell standby, 12% display, 6% phone idle, 2% robo defense. This is after charging overnight to 100% And I've had the phone since thursday, so its like the 4th charge cycle. Is my battery defective? I read the other threads about low battery life but this seems BEYOND low, this seems defective.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI manually installed the FRG01B update yesterday. And since doing so, I have noticed a ridiculously steep drop in battery life. Do I need to be running FRG22? Is that available to download manually, if so? I also know that I don't have the version of Facebook that was causing battery drainage. ATK didn't seem to help at all (it might have even made it worse). Is there anything I can do to vastly improve battery life? It would be great if I could get the phone's battery to last at least 24 hours. I already uninstalled ATK, by the way.
View 15 Replies View RelatedHas anyone experienced this? I searched the forums and the common answer was that 3 hours was normal but it takes my phone around 8 hours to charge on both USB and wall charging.
I just got the fascinate a few days ago. Defective battery or handset? I called Verizon and they said that it can't be troubleshot.
I really like the phone but 8 hours is excessive.
My Samung Epic 4g was working fine until I plugged in the charger and it WOULD NOT CHARGE. tried another charger, nothing. Tested outlet, yes, it provides electric. So I turned off the Epic and IT WILL NOT TURN ON. Took battery out for a while, put it back in nothing.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI live in the central time zone. This morning I woke up and my phone decided to adjust for daylight savings time by 2 hours instead of 1. I checked the time and date settings to find that the date settings were checked to "automatic". Somehow the phone decided I was in the Mountain time zone instead of central. why/how that would happen? If I uncheck the automatic, and manually change my time zone it works fine.

Anyone know if Sprint is going to charge a fee (on top of the totally-not-for-4G $10 fee) for using the epic as a hotspot?
View 13 Replies View RelatedI just rooted a few days ago. Put a custom ROM on it (KaosFroyo v38). Ever since I rooted my battery dyes in about 3 to 4 hours. My phone says its awake 99.9% and the android OS is using 40-50% battery. Is it possibly the ROM? If so how can I change to a new one? I have a Droid Eris.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Epic Has been charging for hours now and still hasn't hit full charge. I was charging it at work all day and now when I got home. Horrible battery life and worst of all it takes insane amounts of time for it too charge. Yes I have reset my phone many times and even did a factory reset. Is this happening to anyone else?
View 21 Replies View RelatedHow many times do you charge your Epic 4G a day? On the day where I'm on the go and don't use it that much I charge my Epic 4G 2x a day. On a day I heavily (3-4hrs then charge) use it I charge it about 3x a day. What about you people?
View 19 Replies View RelatedI've a Galaxy and I installed the rom GalaxHero, but last few days my Galaxy uses a lot of battery. Turn On the phone at 13 o'clock, still in standby, at 21 o'clock the battery was at 55%. That is completely abnormal. I've installed the application "spare parts" and I see that in "Battery History" - "Other usage" it reported running 97%. So I Installed another program, "Drain-O-Meter", this brings me to the process "System_Server" which uses the CPU to 100%. The battery lasts me very little, maximum 24 hours in complete standby. Before we even did about 70 hours!
View 16 Replies View RelatedI am running 3g even though i am in 4g area. I turn my wifi off even though i have wireless at my house. I have the cdma auto thing on. Yet i am still only getting 5 hours max off charge with my phone. What gives? I do have GPS enabled on all the time but that should not matter. I love my phone no matter what, but this battery shit is pissing me off. My HTC touch can go 2 days with no charge and still be able to make a phone call. HTC EVO not even 5 hours before it dies.
View 18 Replies View RelatedI got CL14 on the 19th after having my moment for a couple months they fixed the battery gauge! However, I got a new issue with CL14. I work at a job that is in a bomb proof area. I have always left my phone on in the area even though I usually get no service, sometimes one bar.
The reason I leave the phone on is because sometimes I am in there for 2 minutes, sometimes for 3 hours between breaks so with the long boot times it sucks turning on and off and and off (especially if I am only in there a minute). I also cant switch it off while I am in there since I would get in trouble for taking it out of my pocket.
Eveything had been fine until CL14, now when I go into that room with little service after about 1-2 hours the phone battery it totally dead. The phone is very hot to the touch as well. at first i though it was the screen was somehow on, but I have been checking it every few minutes and its not. Basically my hunch is something changed in the CPU usage when the phone is searching for service with the CL14 update that causes the battery to run out of juice (for real this time) very very fast. Any setting I can change? Most regular cells go into a "power save" mode when there is no service, the moment does not.
Cliff notes:
Cl05, battery gauge, but no problem for months at my work with no service.
CL14 installed now battery is being completely drained from full to shut down in 1-2 hours, in low/no service areas, phone getting very hot.
Verizon just switched me this week to a refurb Ally from the Eris (after 4 defective handsets). It takes between 6-8 hours to charge the battery and then with light use it runs back down in 3 hours (by light use, maybe 2 short calls and 4-6 texts). I have checked and it is NOT the 50% signal bug, and I have turned off everything that could be draining the batter that fast. Is this a normal charge time for this device?

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I plug in my phone now, it doesn't give me the three options anymore (Charging, USB, etc). Did I disable something that I'm not aware of? Just installed Battery Indicator Pro yesterday. Could that be the culprit?
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy phone is set to arrive tomorrow, and all I want to know are two things:
1. Did you charge the phone for the 8 hours (or until full) before you used it, or did you get to playing with it right away?
2. What were your results, in terms of battery life? It seems like every phone manufacturer says to do this, but I'm wondering how much of a difference it actually makes.
I am a new comer, previous owner of the iPhone 3G and the iPhone 3GS. I acquired an ADP1 through our research group at school since we were developing an application for Android (WifiMapper, helps you remember APs you've connected to by mapping them). Regardless, my iPhone 3GS from near battery death to full charge took maybe an hour and a half in USB, let alone a wall charger pushing a guaranteed hour and a half. However, I've found that my ADP1 takes at LEAST 6 hours to charge from around 5% charge. That seems like a long time to me... for instance, today it was at 12%, and I charged it for 3 and a half hours and it only went up to 52%.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMany of us have experienced some battery life fall out since the last update. I mentioned this in the battery life thread but I thought it deserved it own topic. I have an app that I downloaded called battery status. it has a battery history. and it says time without sleeping 7h 10m 25s ago. Thats exactally when I unplugged my phone. This explains why I am seeing 2-3% per hour loss while not using the phone and while in airplane mode. Before the update I could keep the phone in airplane mode, not usre it, and leave work with over 94% battery life. So this proves that somehow the phone is not going into sleep mode... I can guarantee that everyone else in that is experiencing battery drain since the sept 16th update is due to this reason. The question is... why the hell is this happening and why won't the phone go into sleep mode?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a battery app that is very accurate. I charge my phone at night, but it never gets to 100%, usually in the low 90s. If I turn the phone off, it charges to 100%. Is there a "reserver" on this battery? And what's the trick to getting the phone to charge to 100% and getting the most out of it?
