3G and wifi off by using Quick Settings (from market) except when in use.

I was hoping I could drain it in like 2 hrs lol. I'm trying to condition my battery!

We both let the battery run down completely before charging it up (which I was told by the Verizon rep was the "way to go"), and we have both been experiencing GOD AWFUL battery life. Strange battery behavior has included (but has not been limited to):
- Battery going from 100% to 5% after 5.5 hours straight of browsing, playing games, etc., followed by the Battery going from 100% to 5% after 5.5 hours of idle (with light texting and a few quick phone calls mixed in). Seemingly no consistency.
- Battery draining down to around 30% after about 8 hours off-charger with light to moderate use (a few web pages, a few apps downloaded, and about half a dozen texts). If this wasn't annoying enough, shortly after reaching 30%, the phone suddenly took a nosedive into the red, and warned me that I had 5% battery remaining.................
anyone else have this battery charger? and is it taking 8 hours to fully charge the battery? this is crazy. this isnt the exact one i bought, but its the same kind. supposedly mine didnt come from hong kong. if anyone knows of a good battery charger, let me know. Can someone recommend a charger that works with the phone from a seller on ebay. I have the wall charger that comes with the phone I just wanted another one for the office and I don't want to pay the huge markup that sprint puts on them.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI live in the central time zone. This morning I woke up and my phone decided to adjust for daylight savings time by 2 hours instead of 1. I checked the time and date settings to find that the date settings were checked to "automatic". Somehow the phone decided I was in the Mountain time zone instead of central. why/how that would happen? If I uncheck the automatic, and manually change my time zone it works fine.

Does anyone else's touch screen become unresponsive when the Epic is being charged? My touch screen gets glitchy and only responds to a fraction of touches.
I just received mine yesterday and I've already spent more than 6 hours trying to troubleshoot this issue. Most of the google searches that I've found have to do with cheap 3rd party chargers, but I'm using the OEM Samsung charger.
I thought it might be the charger, so I went out and purchased 4 different chargers today, but none of them fix the issue.
I also ordered another Epic for my wife at the same time, and her Epic has the same problem, which suggests that it's not a defective phone (unless they both came from the same batch).
To confuse things even more, I've been able to isolate 2-3 outlets in the house where this problem doesn't happen. The problem also doesn't happen when I charge at work, through a car charger, or via USB from the laptop.
I'm inclined to think it has something to do with the outlets in the house. However, I've never heard of any issue like that and the house is relatively new (built in '98).
I've been getting pretty good battery life (about 14-16 hours on average) when I use the airplane mode trick and kill the Media Hub service. However, my phone has not been able to sleep since the past 2 days and the battery is draining quickly.
The up time indicates that the phone cannot go to sleep. I'm just surprised because I haven't changed any of my phone settings so I don't know why this is happening. I uninstalled the last app that I downloaded and that didn't help.
Should I try doing a hard reset? Are there any apps that will specifically tell me what is keeping the phone awake?
I just rooted a few days ago. Put a custom ROM on it (KaosFroyo v38). Ever since I rooted my battery dyes in about 3 to 4 hours. My phone says its awake 99.9% and the android OS is using 40-50% battery. Is it possibly the ROM? If so how can I change to a new one? I have a Droid Eris.

Turn On the phone at 13 o'clock, still in standby, at 21 o'clock the battery was at 55%. That is completely abnormal. I've installed the application "spare parts" and I see that in "Battery History" - "Other usage" it reported running 97%. So I Installed another program, "Drain-O-Meter", this brings me to the process "System_Server" which uses the CPU to 100%. The battery lasts me very little, maximum 24 hours in complete standby. Before we even did about 70 hours!
View 16 Replies View RelatedI got CL14 on the 19th after having my moment for a couple months they fixed the battery gauge! However, I got a new issue with CL14. I work at a job that is in a bomb proof area. I have always left my phone on in the area even though I usually get no service, sometimes one bar.
The reason I leave the phone on is because sometimes I am in there for 2 minutes, sometimes for 3 hours between breaks so with the long boot times it sucks turning on and off and and off (especially if I am only in there a minute). I also cant switch it off while I am in there since I would get in trouble for taking it out of my pocket.
Eveything had been fine until CL14, now when I go into that room with little service after about 1-2 hours the phone battery it totally dead. The phone is very hot to the touch as well. at first i though it was the screen was somehow on, but I have been checking it every few minutes and its not. Basically my hunch is something changed in the CPU usage when the phone is searching for service with the CL14 update that causes the battery to run out of juice (for real this time) very very fast. Any setting I can change? Most regular cells go into a "power save" mode when there is no service, the moment does not.
Cliff notes:
Cl05, battery gauge, but no problem for months at my work with no service.
CL14 installed now battery is being completely drained from full to shut down in 1-2 hours, in low/no service areas, phone getting very hot.
How long will the battery last if music is played continuously? I will be going on a very long bus ride from Brampton, Ontario to Boston. Thats around 8-10 hours. Will the battery last 10-12 hours atleast? that way i have some juice for any emergencies.

But I can not find an EXTERNAL battery charger. Google search only turned up a "universal" charger where the contacts are manipulated to match up with the battery. Not a good option. I have an app that I downloaded called battery status. it has a battery history. and it says time without sleeping 7h 10m 25s ago. Thats exactally when I unplugged my phone. This explains why I am seeing 2-3% per hour loss while not using the phone and while in airplane mode. Before the update I could keep the phone in airplane mode, not usre it, and leave work with over 94% battery life. So this proves that somehow the phone is not going into sleep mode... I can guarantee that everyone else in that is experiencing battery drain since the sept 16th update is due to this reason. The question is... why the hell is this happening and why won't the phone go into sleep mode?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've had this phone since day one and I've ran the battery down almost every day and only had minimum "low battery" alerts but tonight I am getting a warning flash on the screen every 10 seconds saying "Low Battery: Please Charge Battery". Seriously, every 10 seconds and it started at 15% battery left.so I have at least 30-60 minutes of life left.
