I reduced the number of home screens to one (I'm a minimalist) and it keeps showing a single white circle at the top. Is there a way to get rid of it since it's useless when you have only one home screen?

Yesterday I noticed a small white circle on the screen. It looks like an area on the screen the might be displaying brighter.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI put Cognition on my phone today, and made a backup image of the stock 2.1 before putting Cognition on. I decided I want to go back to the Stock, so I clicked the "manage backups" part of Clockwork, and "recover" on the image I saved. Next, the phone rebooted, and looked like it was installing the backup image, and rebooted again. However, it will not go past the White AT&T screen. Is my only option to use Odin to give it a factory reset? Or is there an easier way for me to do this?

View 4 Replies View Relatedthe "messages" icon on the home screen is a sort of envelope speech bubble looking yoke when there are new sms text messages you get a small green circle over this icon with the number of unread messages in it. how do you clear this?
I hit the icon and get a screen of my text messages none are highlighted in bold to say what's unread AND even after opening them all and going back to the home screen the damn green circle is still there. after a while it goes again?any ideas?
when I first got it I noticed that I had home screens on both the left and right of the center screen now it seems my "home" screen can only be on the right. So if I hit the home button it scrolls all the way to the right screen. btw I was an avid iphone supporter but have converted so I'm also a noob to the Android scene but so far I regret making this decision so late in the game!!

This page with the home icon can now be moved to whereever you want it in the positioning of the 1-7 screens you have and when you click on the "home" key at the very bottom it will go to that screen. Previously there was no home key and your home screen was either the middle or far left screen depending on the number of screens you had.

This happens fairly frequently actually, but I'll be in an app (any app - it's not really particular) and sometimes it'll just randomly shut me out of it and return to the home screen. As it does this, the home button blinks and vibrates incessantly until I hold down on it - at which point it brings up a sort of mini-list of six apps (the last six apps I've opened, I suppose). Once I clear out of that list, then the phone resumes working normally.
I initially thought it had something to do with the memory and running too many apps at once, so I downloaded Advance Task Killer and run that occasionally...only to find the same problem occurring, sometimes RIGHT after I kill all the apps.
Has anyone else had this happen? Can anyone help me out?
What are options for using the web browser with white text on black? I really want this option because it is so much easier on the eyes and better for battery as well. I've tried this option in the e-reader for reading and it makes a world of difference although its something to get used to a bit.

After uninstalling, I am now receiving two SMS notifications when I receive a text. One a white envelope, another a green bubble with "SMS" written in it. I can't find a place where two are coming from...any ideas?

I'd prefer the home screen be the middle screen, but no matter how I arrange the screens (unless I add all 7 back in) the home screen is whichever is the farthest to the right.
Anyone know how to assign which home screen is the default for the home button?
After the update was complete, I got a white screen with red letters at the top that says "Cannot find jpg or png!" and now the phone won't work. I cannot redo the update because it loses connection with it after the 2nd powercycle in the update. Is there a way to fix this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedRandomly, when actively doing stuff on the phone, I go to white lines running from the top of the phone to the bottom when the screen was in portrait position. There were two of them on the right side, each line being a couple pixels in width, separated by a few pixels of normal screen. It lasted for a few seconds, and then the screen reset itself. It's only happened once or twice, but it should happen at all with such an expensive phone and nice screen.

I don't know what else to do and also when I run the game raging thunder I get maybe 5 fps to the game. Can someone explain to me what is going on? Is it possible that my hardware on the phone is defective or maybe the update I got from samsung for the 2.1 is not gonna work with it?
