Aug 26, 2010My wife and I have had our captivates for just over a month and have loved the device despite the few minor issues that we've experienced with them. I check the boards daily to see all the latest, but didn't see anything on one issue that i am experiencing.
When using the camera to take pictures of my infant son, if i try to take a picture, then another and sometimes a third (infants are hard to keep still for a picture) without closing the camera application, a few times i haven't been able to press the take picture button and have noticed a "lock" icon on the camera screen, then can not exit the camera app at all and need to power off the phone, then bring it back up. Does anyone know what causes this and if it's something that i am doing unknowingly when bobbling the phone trying to positing him for the picture?
Samsung Captivate :: Remove ATT Startup Logo And Splash Screen
Aug 25, 2010Is there anyway to delete this and just have the samsung logo on startup? i already deleted all the preinstalled ATT crap that comes with the phone with titanium backup (i just deleted them did not even backup will never use them anyway. after i did that phone seems to be better for me. also i did delete that annoying swish sound at startup but it also took away the samsung startup sound and i like that one. why is it that everyphone for att has there logo or some other att crap on it but the damn iPhone is the only phone clean without any att crap on it -_- i switched over from iPhone 4 could not be more happy. also is there a way to remove the att logo on the top of the phone im talking about the logo next to the speaker.

Aug 28, 2010when I first got it I noticed that I had home screens on both the left and right of the center screen now it seems my "home" screen can only be on the right. So if I hit the home button it scrolls all the way to the right screen. btw I was an avid iphone supporter but have converted so I'm also a noob to the Android scene but so far I regret making this decision so late in the game!!

Oct 9, 2010Okay so here is another strange thing I noticed with the update.2 of the 3 phones that got the update now have a little home icon on the bottom of one of the touchwiz screens when you are in the edit mode. This page with the home icon can now be moved to whereever you want it in the positioning of the 1-7 screens you have and when you click on the "home" key at the very bottom it will go to that screen. Previously there was no home key and your home screen was either the middle or far left screen depending on the number of screens you had.

Sep 16, 2010Hey everyone, I'm sort of new to this but I figured I'd give it a shot to see if anyone might have an answer.
This happens fairly frequently actually, but I'll be in an app (any app - it's not really particular) and sometimes it'll just randomly shut me out of it and return to the home screen. As it does this, the home button blinks and vibrates incessantly until I hold down on it - at which point it brings up a sort of mini-list of six apps (the last six apps I've opened, I suppose). Once I clear out of that list, then the phone resumes working normally.
I initially thought it had something to do with the memory and running too many apps at once, so I downloaded Advance Task Killer and run that occasionally...only to find the same problem occurring, sometimes RIGHT after I kill all the apps.
Has anyone else had this happen? Can anyone help me out?

Jun 5, 2010I have a little app that draws moving animations in a surface view. Cute, useless time waster. I think it could be cuter if it were possible to get a surface view that mapped to the home screen icon for the app and animate that when the app is running and the icon is visible. Is that possible? I remember way back in the days of Windows 3.1, that when your app was minimized, it was possible to draw to the minimized icon as though that were the app window (actually, I guess it may just have been the app window). Anyway if such a thing is possible in Android, I'd like to try it. Anybody know?

Jul 27, 2010I've used the "Edit" function to remove the home screens that I don't want, but now when I hit the Home button it takes me to the last (right-most) screen in the list. I'd prefer the home screen be the middle screen, but no matter how I arrange the screens (unless I add all 7 back in) the home screen is whichever is the farthest to the right.
Anyone know how to assign which home screen is the default for the home button?

Apr 12, 2012Is it possible to remove the home screen from a rom with android 2.3.4 and sense 2.1, by editing the rom itself.
I know that the android version 2.3.4 (cool ic sense) doesn't allow this function, as it was added later in newer android versions (or sense versions?).
Either way, is it possible to go inside the rom and edit the sense launcher, so that it only shows 3 screens for example.

Mar 10, 2009I want my application to resume what it is doing regardless of where I press the icon (Home screen, app picker, or running apps). Right now if my app is in the background and I press the icon on the home screen, the app restarts with my Main Activity. Once here, if I press the back button the app resumes from the activity it left off before it was put in the background. If it's running in the background and I hold the home button and select my app from the current running apps, it resumes correctly. How do I avoid my app from going to my Main activity when it is selected from the Home screen or app picker?
