I reduced the number of home screens to one (I'm a minimalist) and it keeps showing a single white circle at the top. Is there a way to get rid of it since it's useless when you have only one home screen?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI put Cognition on my phone today, and made a backup image of the stock 2.1 before putting Cognition on. I decided I want to go back to the Stock, so I clicked the "manage backups" part of Clockwork, and "recover" on the image I saved. Next, the phone rebooted, and looked like it was installing the backup image, and rebooted again. However, it will not go past the White AT&T screen. Is my only option to use Odin to give it a factory reset? Or is there an easier way for me to do this?

After uninstalling, I am now receiving two SMS notifications when I receive a text. One a white envelope, another a green bubble with "SMS" written in it. I can't find a place where two are coming from...any ideas?

View 4 Replies View RelatedRandomly, when actively doing stuff on the phone, I go to white lines running from the top of the phone to the bottom when the screen was in portrait position. There were two of them on the right side, each line being a couple pixels in width, separated by a few pixels of normal screen. It lasted for a few seconds, and then the screen reset itself. It's only happened once or twice, but it should happen at all with such an expensive phone and nice screen.

What does all this mean? For the internet part, I have limited data per month, will it really add up...I have 200 MB/month.
When I try to run the app Neocore my moment screen gets all black and white and the only thing that shows up are squares, I can't even see a picture of any kind. I don't know what else to do and also when I run the game raging thunder I get maybe 5 fps to the game. Can someone explain to me what is going on? Is it possible that my hardware on the phone is defective or maybe the update I got from samsung for the 2.1 is not gonna work with it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm developing a game for android, and texture problem has been reported on Motorola Droid phones. (Missing/white background in the menu and during the game).
I've tried to fix this with changing the texture sizes to power of 2 (I used jpeg images as backgrounds, and they wasn't power of 2, however this worked fine on all my test devices).
I bought a brand new Samsung Galaxy S on 8th October 2010 in Bangalore, India. two weeks later my screen developed a bright white line on the bottom. ( see pic attached ) I have not dropped or mishandled the phone in any way. I took it to the nearest samsung service centre... they told me that the display needs to be replaced ... They say that the phone display is out of stock and they dont know by when it will be available.
I feel really cheated ... after purchasing such an expensive phone one never expects it to malfunction in less than 2 weeks. And samsungs customer care reps very conveniently replied that they dont know when it will be in stock and to keep in touch via calls. So much for buying an amazing phone.
my brand new samsung fascinate just went white. I went to push the button on the side to unlock it, and just lit up white. I went to do a hard reset and it did not solve the problem. When i restart phone, i can hear the phone start up music, and the soft buttons on the front work, but all i see is bright white. I had someone call me, and my phone rang, yet all i saw was a bright screen. When it goes idol to black, it wont turn back on at all.

Is something wrong with just the app or phone? Has anyone experienced this?
However I have got one major problem which is that since getting it I have developed a really painful wrist (no schoolboy humour please). I hold the phone in my right hand and tend to use my right thumb for scrolling, selecting on the screen and pushing the buttons at the bottom. I have developed a persistent stabbing pain over the nobly bit on the right side of my wrist which gets worse after I have been using the phone for a while. Has anyone else had this problem or is it just me getting old?

It sits there for a second and the screen goes black. I have tried releasing the power buttons then and I have tried holding them as well.
View 7 Replies View RelatedSo today in glass design I was checking messages when a small ( when i say small i mean you almost can't even see it) piece of glass landed on my captivate. My captivate has the body glove, screen protector and screen protector.When this little piece of glass got on the screen I tried to just rub it off but it cut through the screen protector and put a deep scratch on the actual captivate screen.The screen protector I was using was gadget guard so I definitely don't recommend using that if you plan on it because of how weak it is. I'm also disappointed with the captivates screen. If a small piece of glass barely rubbing on it can leave a deep scratch, I can't imagine what keys could do.You can't really see the scratch, but I'm just super ocd about it and can feel it on my finger every time it's in that area.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a confession to make.One of the first things I did when I got my Captivate was tried to De-TouchWiz it.I immediately got a new launcher and used lockbot to change the lockscreen.Well, what I'm finding out is that there are some things about TouchWiz that I really like.For example I love being able to change wifi settings etc. on the drop down notification drawer.I also love being able to change the brightness by swiping the notification bar.The one thing that I decided to come back to as a UI element is the Lock Screen.I didn't even give it a shot when I first bought the phone and today I've been using it and I love it.The puzzle message system is just a great tweak and I love how you can just move the puzzle piece into the puzzle hole to go straight to that application instead of swiping the whole screen to unlock and go to the home page.I also really like that you can kind of swipe any which way to unlock the screen, as well as the fact that it's transparent to your wallpaper/live wallpaper.All around, bravo to Samsung on the lock screen.I hope others are enjoying it as much as I am.

I accidentally opened a screen and can not get rid of it. I was looking at corporate calendar and now I have a large white no calendar events on my favorite screen that I can not get rid of. I do not have an exchange server to sync too at work.

Is there any way to set it so it defaults to Facebook photo for all contacts, or even a way to just change it for specific contacts of my choosing?
