Droid 4, with 4.0.4 op system - I'm getting messages (10-12 per day) advertising games on Google Play Store - most all have an icon like a white circle with a black plus sign.I have a notification app on my phone so I know when I missed a message or call, and this silly thing is going off constantly. I put a spam blocker on the phone but that didn't stop this.

I'm using a galaxy nexus with the newest version of jelly bean. For the past couple weeks, ive been experiencing a constant barrage of gmail sign in failed error messages.
I am able to login to gmail using the gmail application, as well as the generic email application. in the google account settings, it is able to be synced, and manually syncing doesn't prompt the error message.
I googled this issue and came across a couple solutions - changing my password using the chrome mobile browser, clearing the cache, etc, but nothing seems to work.
Its getting fairly frustrating having this notification pop up every few minutes or so.
Yesterday I noticed a small white circle on the screen. It looks like an area on the screen the might be displaying brighter.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently created a new contact in my phone, entered their name, and messaged them with the default messenger. I then realized I entered the wrong phone number so I deleted the contact then created a new one using the same name but the correct phone number and texted them. Now, when they text me, it shows up in its own thread as if it came from the incorrect number I originally entered but when I reply I have to do so in a different thread that displays the correct number. In effect, this contact now has one thread for their incoming messages and one thread for their outgoing messages.
I've tried pulling my battery and SIM but that did nothing. I've tried deleting either or both of the threads and nothing. I've tried deleting them and pulling the battery and SIM afterward and nothing. I've found solutions for merging existing threads but that doesn't work at all for any new messages that are sent or received. It's a bit tedious having to go back and forth between threads just to talk to one person.
the "messages" icon on the home screen is a sort of envelope speech bubble looking yoke when there are new sms text messages you get a small green circle over this icon with the number of unread messages in it. how do you clear this?
I hit the icon and get a screen of my text messages none are highlighted in bold to say what's unread AND even after opening them all and going back to the home screen the damn green circle is still there. after a while it goes again?any ideas?
Although the promise of an Android phone is still exciting to me, I have to admit my first experience is leaving me less enthused. I was finally able to do the magic 15 second driver install and got 1.6.3.3 installed without any seeming issues. Since then it's been a long road. 1. The phone overclocks at 610, but definitely is unstable at 710. 2. I get constant FC messages. In accordance with a posting I found somewhere I got MinFreeManager and changed the defaults to: Foreground 8 Visible 10 Secondary 10 Hidden 24 Content 26 Empty 24 and that seemed to help. I also am using ADW, and wiping the Launcher.apk in /system/app seemed to help. But it's still a problem. 3. Audio and Bluetooth are problematic. I wiped the default Music.apk and tried Meridian which does seem to deal with the headphone bug. But mysteriously Meridian often plays one or two songs and then just stops. And Bluetooth A2DP is erratic and full of gaps. 4. All of these would be surmountable if it actually worked consistently as a phone, and that's were things that getting bad.......
View 38 Replies View RelatedI have the HTC Hero from Sprint. Great little phone. I'm having issues with texting. Here's my scenario.I receive a text from Facebook stating someone wrote on my wall. The from id is 123456789. I then get a text from a friend George. In the list view of of my texts George's text showing under the Facebook number. When I press on the Facebook name it shows the text from Facebook then from George. If I reply it goes to Facebook not George.It also happens under different users, appears to be very random and is causing issues as I'm trying to quickly reply, forget to check who it's going to, then I text someone something I shouldn't have. Not cool.Any ideas how to fix it? I downloaded Handcent SMS as well and that is having the same issue so it appears to be a root droid issue.

Iīve added those spinners to my layout without editing most of itīs properties and this way it works for most of my users. Unfortunately most isnīt all and then some of them started complaining that the list of options is showing text in white with over a white background! Iīd like to know if thereīs a way (or a property) so I can force those spinners to show the options list using text in black.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have Wildfire S with Cyanogenmod 2.6.35.13-CRYPTOMILK-g721bcd9 (version 9.0.0-RC2 ALPHA 6 marvel) based on Android 4.0.4.
I've installed also Int2Ext and two or three days ago Adrenaline.
And it worked just fine.
Until yesterday. Two days ago I started to have a indicator that i have memory full. But when i went into memory settings i have a lot of memory.
But i've uninstalled one game.
And still nothing.
After that i've browsed internet with Opera and a popup showed to ask me if i want to download Porn.apk. Of course i cancelled it.
And today my phone didn't go beyond the loading animation.
So i've uninstalled Andrenaline.
And it started.
But since that i can not touch and move my screen.
On the screen there is a blue circle displayed and when i move my screen it does not move; the circle does.
And i'ts impossible to do anything now on my phone. Because it's hard to use this circle thing.
I've found on the internet you should go to Settings -> Developer Settings -> Touch display and disable it.
So i did it but still i have this circle. I also tried to enable it, restart, disable it, restart and nothing.
Installing Andrenaline didn't work also. Is this some kind of a virus? Or settings broken?
Is there any way to fix it with command line or some other software and not with wiping whole phone?
This is my first time trying to install this I have a Samsung galaxy s2 T989 And I'm pretty sure I've done it right. I factory wiped it, cleared the cache and the cleared the cache in advanced settings. It's been atlesst over 10min and its still on the blue circle just spinning around.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a sony xperia T and have just upgraded my rom to cynogen mod 11, the only problem is as soon as I went to set it up (which I did manage to complete) I had a blue/white tint circle on my screen. I can move the circle but it is hard to use for example I have to have it on a certain area to click the thing I want to click.
View 1 Replies View RelatedApps like Takser for example, it has a persistent notification. Now IIRC, that allows the app to stay always running and not be killed by Android. If I uncheck Show notifications in the App info section, does it have the same effect?
Meaning, will it still stay a persistent app and not be able to be closed by Android? I have a Pebble and I have not had any issues with the app since I have done this.
I got this weird issue on all my devices where after a certain point the video freezes, buffers for ~8 seconds, plays for a couple and repeat. This is not video specific and changing the quality does not fix this, it just makes the problem appear later on. In HQ quality, after about 1:45 minutes of playing flawlessly it starts buffering the whole damn time. SQ quality can play up to 3-4 minutes before any issues arise.
This is on a broad range of devices, both mine and those of friends. My own Samsung Galaxy S2 running CM10.1 and Cube U30GT running CM10, but had the issue on stock, and a stock Galaxy Note and HTC Hero 2.
Other info. It's not network related. Happens on both wifi and 3g and on different connections/ISPs. My own Internet connection clocks up to 20mbps and has no problem playing any YT video on my PC. Other "streaming" video stuff work great. Twitch.tv plays great as does dailymotion. Other players, other than the default YT app, have no issues playing videos even on HQ. YT through the browser works fine but somehow doesn't let me switch to HQ and the "UI" generally feels bad. Feedly (which is great btw), has a sort of plugin that uses the YT app to play videos natively. Any videos played in the feedly app, using this "plugin" play great even in HQ, which is weird. I've tried reinstalling, uninstalling, stalling, killing, maiming, clearing data+cache, completely wiping the devices and sacrificing firstborns to Lucifer.
This feels like a caching issue of the youtube app. It feels like it starts caching up to a point (playing great in the process) and at some points cache fills up and starts deleting in order to make space to cache further. That leads to the pause and buffering of the video.
I own a rooted Droid RAZR M with ADAWAY installed but am having trouble recently. My browser, no matter which one, as Ive tried fixing this already, continues to open by itself every couple of minutes going to [url]..... I've tried new host files and different ad blocking apps, Even froze google chrome using titanium backup and installed fire fox but it continues to happen.

I've had the stock ICS rom on it for ages and at one point it slowed to a crawl, so I tried a new ROM and eventually it had the same problems. Now no matter what I do, the phone is pretty much unusable. It'll lock up completely for minutes at a time. I've tried several different ROMs including going back to the stock/original bootloader.
Nothing works. That said, I haven't wiped the user data and THEN returned to a stock rom but I don't know if that'll work at this stage.
So I'm looking for something like the G300, cheap, and works. I don't really need anything fancy but i'd like it to be of comparable capability to the G300 which is now a 2 year old phone. Huawei aren't stocked everywhere here so something a bit more mainstream might work better for me.

So I know it's usually best to place your phone in airplane mode when your phone doesn't have signal; however, are there any alternatives to this if you're in an area that constantly gives no reception? I live in the first floor apartment and I'm guessing the materials of the building completely kill my cell signal because I barely ever have more than one bar of signal if any signal at all. For example, my cell standby is usually about 50-55% time without signal during a given day.
I'm wondering if there is another setting or perhaps an app that will save some battery.
I've a Sony-Ericsson Xperia X10 with the lastest official ROM (2.3.3), rooted with Flashtool.
I've tried to uninstall a ROM app (Wize Drive, a GPS app without interest) with Titanium backup (lastest version). It annouced me the phone will restart 2 times to perform the uninstall.
But actually the phone just reboot again and again.
If plugged on power it restart itself. If unplugged, I must start manually (power button) and after a few seconds it powers off.
The cycle is Sony Ericsson logo, and after that a logo on black screen: a phone with a blue arrow and a yellow caution triangle for a few seconds. And it reboot again. This loop is endless, I can't use the phone anymore
I don't know why google play store wants to crash all of the sudden as it worked fine yesterday and I haven't done anything that would upset it.
-I've checked if the app "downloads" was disabled which is was not.
-I've cleared cache and all that stuff to no avail.
-I've deleted my google account on the phone.
-I've uninstalled play store, rebooted, downloaded the newest apk and installed it
I thought maybe it was the new 4.4.21 update that broke it but after installing an older 4.3.10 and still no fix I don't think that's the issue.I've been doing lots and lots of reboots after several of the above mentioned tries.
I'm using a modded ROM and I'm rooted as well if that's important.I've deleted some stuff in the root folder with X-Plorer as well but that was way before this happened, maybe two weeks ago? I've also got SD Maid installed and am using it rather frequently, maybe it deleted something that was needed in the root folder? BTW, in some apps, a pop up appears with something about that it's unable to communicate with android market. I don't recall I ever had that installed?
OK I got this 7 mid Google Android 4.0 multi touch capacitive tablet PC.
Now everything works fine ...the only real issue I have is whenever I go to Google play and try to download anything I would get this error and the only way I could get past it is to remove my account and sign in again. Is there a way to fix this so that the error don't continuously show up?? A13MID

It's a great combination, but the one thing I miss right now came from the BakedSnack 9.6 ROM and that's the 6 segmented round battery meter in the status bar. Anyone know how to get that or at least something better than the default battery icon?
Does anyone know how to get round or download a media player that will allow me to watch tv, like ITV player, or iplayer. Every time i try it says that i need to download flash player, then the adobe site wont allow it saying that i need andriod 2.2. However there is no estimate date that i know of for 2.2 on the galaxy s. Anyone know a compatible flash player.
