When I press the home button on my DHD the screen goes white with the HTC logo, flashes to the home screen and then is delay of 10 seconds of longer with the loading warning running.
Is this normal?
When I use the back button to get to the home screen it does no do this.

Whenever I am using any app and press the home button, the home screen blacks out for a few secs and it takes around 10 sec to get all the icons back and before I can start using my phone again. I am using a non rooted mytouch 3g.
This problem does not happen if I exit an app by pressing the back button. It becomes very annoying at times.
Trying to the do as the title describes with the following code, but it doesn't seem to work. It just does nothing once i have altered the keyCode. Do i have to do something to the event?

is there an app that disables the unlock screen after i press the top power button? (i hate having to currently press the power button and then swipe down every time i want to use the device)

When I press the home button (middle one) I get a prompt to select to 'Complete Action using Home or Timescape' This is quite annoying. I want the default action to be Home (not Timescape) but despite ticking the box in the prompt it still pops up this box.

Short story is based on some info coming in, the app will display new Activities to the user. To prevent Back button issues, as each Activity hits it's onStop it calls finish on itself. However if the user presses the Home button I do not want the Activity to call finish so that when the user presses the app icon on the home screen or via the Recently run apps list, the last Activity is brought back
Is there a possible way to completely terminate app on home button press? Because everytime my friends use my phone they didn't realize there is a back button.. So they just presses the home button like they were using idevices.. This would hog the memory with the running apps and i have to constantly close them everytime they finish playing.. ICS does have this feature but im running GB atm..

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am designing a home screen widget. I ran this widget on a HTC Hero device, which has a screen of 320 pixels * 480 pixels with mdpi. It ran perfect on HTC Hero. The widget takes 3 cells * 2 cells space, i.e. 240 pixels * 200 pixels.Then I ran this widget on a Nexus One device, which has a screen of 480 pixels * 800 pixels, mdpi. Since Nexus One also is mdpi, so I though 240dip is equivalent to 240 pixels on Nexus One and 200dip is equivalent to 200 pixels on Nexus One, so the widget will not take 3 cells * 2 cells space on Nexus One device. To my surprise, when running on Nexus One device, the widget take exact 3 cells * 2 cells, about 360 pixels * 300 pixels, on Nexus One device.I am confused. The layout xml above specifies 240dip in width and 200dip in height for the widget, but why did it take 360 pixels * 300 pixels on Nexus One Device? What am I missing?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have the motorola droid. I got the handcent app because I really like all the customization options within it. However, lately I have been having this annoying problem. Sometimes when I have just sent a message, when I press the home button to return to the homescreen, it goes home but all my apps have vanished. I can go through my menu and replace them all to where they were, or I can reboot the phone and that usually corrects it. It is still annoying and is really putting me off the app. Has anyone else had this problem? Do you know if there is a specific cause or how I can correct it?

Ive noticed when i dont touch the screen it goes black as i think its in sleep and to wake it up you press the power button, can i change the button you press to wake it up. Also is it possible to access the dictionary to add words without doing it via text message.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThis is a problem I've noticed lately that is just killing my battery life. My Incredible never dims on its own. If I press the power button the screen will shut off but lets say I get a text and then I hit the power button, the screen comes on. I respond to the text and then hit home and put my phone down on the desk. The screen will stay on indefinitely. Not charging, completely unplugged the screen will just stay on. Has anyone run accross this and does anyone have any ideas on how to get it to time out again?

I am trying to hook button2 in main.xml so that when clicked, it takes me to the animals.xml page.
When i am the hope page and i push the browser button i get a white screen. Isn't google or a home page supposed to come up. the way i get to a web page then is to hit the magnifying glass (which brings me to google search). isn't a homepage supposed to come up when i hit that browser button. how do i make that happen?
View 4 Replies View RelatedOver the past two days I've had a recurring problem with my Moment - the screen no longer shuts off when I press the Off or End Call button. This is a pain because buttons end up being pressed when I slip the phone in to my pocket. I'm running the official 2.1 update and have been since the week after it came out, and I haven't had this problem before. I can't seem to figure it out. The button still works to turn the screen on, and will still turn of the screen if it's at the lock screen, but at the home screen or in an app, nothing happens when pressing the button. This was a little awkward today when the body heat through my shorts opened up my Alarm Clock app and started playing the various alarm clock ringtones!

I was on my main Home screen and just trying to figure stuff out and when I long press the menu key it brings up the onscreen keyboard. I figured it was for contact search or something, but it did nothing when I typed...or so I thought. Now everytime I back out to the Home screen a little transparent "window" displays with letters i first typed. I cant type new letters to display or even use the backspace key to erase. my brand new samsung fascinate just went white. I went to push the button on the side to unlock it, and just lit up white. I went to do a hard reset and it did not solve the problem. When i restart phone, i can hear the phone start up music, and the soft buttons on the front work, but all i see is bright white. I had someone call me, and my phone rang, yet all i saw was a bright screen. When it goes idol to black, it wont turn back on at all.

This is my second Captivate as my last one would shut itself off randomly and that phone also had this problem.Yes, I make sure I pressed the power button and waited a couple seconds to make sure it just wasn't lag but I can guarantee you it is not. Like I said, it doesn't happen all the time but maybe once every 2 days. I'm guessing it's a slight problem with other users as it happened on my last phone but I'm not sure. Hopefully it's a software issue.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have x10 mini 2.1 since I updated to 2.1 any long press on home screen or corner icons goes directly to edit either widgets or icons depending wich screen I have up.This is anoying because many times I press just a little too long and for example end up in the edit icons mode instead of opening messages like I wanted to. Is there anyway to get this as it was on 1.6? Long press didnt open edit, the only way to open edit was trough menu key.
