HTC Desire :: Delay After Hitting Home Button
Nov 9, 2010New to the forum and the reason I signed up is I can't seem to find anything online about the problem I'm having with my HTC Desire. I am running a custom Froyo ROM (DeFrost 5.1) with ClockworkMod 2.5.0.7. My issue is that sometimes when I'm in an application (as far as I can tell, any application..haven't been able to pick up on any patterns, other than I have to be in the app for more than about 15 seconds) and I hit the home button, there is about a 5+ second delay before the phone reacts. While I'm waiting, the current app is fully functional as if I hadn't done anything although after waiting it will do it's usual process to get back to the home screen (fluid animation and everything). Hitting the home button multiple times seems to make the process go faster, although there is still a delay (the sense of it happening faster could simply be that I'm doing something instead of just sitting there too and it's not a real decrease in the delay). I have Launcher Pro Plus installed with "Keep in memory" and "Use homescreen caches" options enabled to try and make the home screen react faster. Memory usage preset is set to "High" and Homescreen cache type is set to normal. The weird thing about this is before I installed the custom ROM, I was experiencing the same thing with Android 2.1 w/ Sense UI since I got the phone (got it end of August) and if I remember correctly happened both with and without Launcher Pro installed (didn't know about the memory settings in Launcher Pro at the time so they were at default then). Is anyone experiencing a similar issue and/or does anyone have any suggestions as to how to fix this? I really like Android and truly want to love it, but things like this just keep getting in the way. If it's an OS issue then Google really needs to work on this as it really is nuts when you want to switch apps to wait 5+ seconds before even getting started.

Mar 30, 2010Whenever I am using any app and press the home button, the home screen blacks out for a few secs and it takes around 10 sec to get all the icons back and before I can start using my phone again. I am using a non rooted mytouch 3g.
This problem does not happen if I exit an app by pressing the back button. It becomes very annoying at times.

Oct 21, 2010So I searched and hope this isn't a repeat thread. So I never upgraded to the new version of launcher pro and just about ten minutes ago I hit my home button and it automatically takes me to launcherpro.com and says that my current version is expired and to download the new one. Problem is I can't get to the market because my home button doesn't work. So all that works is my browser, 4 physical buttons, and I can pull down my notification bar. So I really need to figure out a way to get to the market or switch to touch wiz.

Oct 25, 2010When I receive a call on my Captivate, I have to use the home button to answer. There is a big pretty button on the left that has a green dot with a phone icon that you would think would answer it but it doesn't. Is there a setting somewhere, or a fix for this? Red button on the right with the phone icon hangs up, so you would think the green button would answer.

Jul 23, 2010I just bought my captivate a few days ago and so far I love it. However it has started acting up more and more over the last couple days. I have my settings to "vibrate" whenever I click buttons. Sometimes after I click something the phone vibrates over and over again and I have noticed that the "home" button flashes when doing so. Eventually it stops but whatever application I am in crashes. Anyone know a fix for this problem or should I go exchange it for a new one?

I run stock froyo and sense, and I keep up with as many updates as possible. Is there a patch for this that anyone knows of?

Aug 28, 2010when I first got it I noticed that I had home screens on both the left and right of the center screen now it seems my "home" screen can only be on the right. Oct 9, 2010Okay so here is another strange thing I noticed with the update.2 of the 3 phones that got the update now have a little home icon on the bottom of one of the touchwiz screens when you are in the edit mode. This page with the home icon can now be moved to whereever you want it in the positioning of the 1-7 screens you have and when you click on the "home" key at the very bottom it will go to that screen. Previously there was no home key and your home screen was either the middle or far left screen depending on the number of screens you had.

Sep 16, 2010Hey everyone, I'm sort of new to this but I figured I'd give it a shot to see if anyone might have an answer.
This happens fairly frequently actually, but I'll be in an app (any app - it's not really particular) and sometimes it'll just randomly shut me out of it and return to the home screen. As it does this, the home button blinks and vibrates incessantly until I hold down on it - at which point it brings up a sort of mini-list of six apps (the last six apps I've opened, I suppose). Once I clear out of that list, then the phone resumes working normally.
I initially thought it had something to do with the memory and running too many apps at once, so I downloaded Advance Task Killer and run that occasionally...only to find the same problem occurring, sometimes RIGHT after I kill all the apps.
Has anyone else had this happen? Can anyone help me out?
