I am having trouble hearing the beeps that are heard for incoming calls when I am listening to music. Is there anyway to change this to something more obvious?
Either making it louder and the music playing quieter, or even pausing the music and notifcation sounds or ringtone playing would be good. I cant seem to find a fix. I am missing many calls like this.

I never hear any of my notifications when they come. I have tried countless times to change my notification type and sound but it wont change. It shows in the settings that it has changed but when i get a notification, it is the default one even though i changed it in the settings...

I just got my Hero yesterday (coming from an iPhone 3GS). I have a major issue with the fact that if I am listening to music through the headphones and I receive a call, the music pauses. But when I remove the headphones to answer the call (I don't like using the headphones or any other bluetooth device to talk into) and am done my convo, as soon as I hang up the music starts blaring (leading to embarrassing moments etc).
Is there any way to make it so that it pauses after a call until I press play again? I tried every music player in the app store I could find but nothing did this, other than Astro Player which is not what I want in a music player (no organization by album, artist, playlists etc.)
Everything works fine but when a phone call comes while a song is playing the app does not pause the media player and you can hear the song during the phone call. Please tell me how to pause media player on a phone call and again resume it after call is ended.

I was able to change it for the voicemail notification (under notification sounds) but it doesn't seem to have any affect on the text one.. it only changed the voicemail one.

I've got a PhoneStateListener to see call state changes, when a call is incoming I make my app show a toast notification to display caller data which I retrieve from a search service. Due to toasts limitation, i would like to show a dialog instead which allows me to show the notification longer and customize it with imageviews etc...
The problem is that when I implement the dialog and execute the show method in the state listener class, my application crashes.
Does anyone know how to implement this and have an example? It seems like WhitePages have solved this with their Caller ID app.

Is there an application that will force your incoming calls to only show in the status bar instead of interrupting your current session? I have seen a video showing what I'm looking for but it was an iPhone app for unlocked devices.

There was a setting on the Blackberry while sleeping, the phone would be the only thing to ring or make nose. Email notifications, etc., would be silent. I was fumbling to mute the tone before it woke up the whole house. But I could not find any option. View 6 Replies View RelatedI've searched hi and low, so I apologize if this has been answered before.I have a stock Droid-X. I have my blue-tooth paired to Motorola HT820 stereo/phone headsets. SIDE NOTE: I also use wired stereo ear-buds that are music and phone capable as well.Here's the problem.I can be listening to Pandora with my HT820's all is fine, I am grooving.. then I receive a phone call. I carry on the phone call for 5+ minutes (or whatever) through the HT's and when I disconnect from the call, I have nothing but silence! Music does not come back. I check to make sure Pandora is running and the music is playing yep, still no sound though.So I try and test what is happening.I then go back and call, say voice mail. The call goes over the HT's fine. But when I disconnect from the call, my music is not there. I try turning off, then back on the blue-tooth (I double check in settings I am connected and it is) but it still won't play my music, it will come over the regular speaker, when I turn of the blue tooth. The only way to bring it back is to power off the X. My music will then play again until I receive another call or notification like a text message.The weird thing is this happens when I use the wired ear buds plugged into the jack. These are designed not only for stereo, but handling phone calls too. No sound, I unplug and the music plays out the speaker. Again only powering off and on the X will get the music back into the wired ear buds. Like I said, this is a stock phone, not rooted. Paired and connected, Media and phone checked.

I couldn't hear the music play at max volume on my Incredible at work (noisy environment). Was disappointing coming from a raggedy BB Storm 1. But then I did something to it and the volume incresed... about 25% higher from the max setting that I had. I can now hear it while I am working. I tested this method on the Pandora. It worked every time.
Here is how:
1. Play music (from whatever app you use)
2. Hit the home key
3. Open Voice Search (Programs key if you don't have it on your home screen).
4. Done.
I have trouble hearing people talking on the x. Does froyo make the speaker louder also. Is GPS louder too
