When I'm on a call and a 2nd call comes in, my phone doesn't ring or anything. Is there anyway to change this so that I know when I have a call waiting without having to look at the screen (which is usually pressed up against my ear)?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy phone will sometimes not ring at all when I receive an incoming call. It will be waiting for me to pickup, but nothing will be coming out of the speakers. Also, sometimes when someone calls it rings and rings on their end and go to my voice mail, but my phone will not even register that they called. Oh, and it randomly revolted once or twice just sitting there. I am probably going to exchange my phone, but I wanted to see if that is the best course of action.

I usually can fix problems by myself, because I am skilled in Android, but this one I have to turn to my friends in the Android community and ask for some assistance. Next, the phone will randomly change my ringtone. Next, the Sense clock/weather widget displays a location that I don't even live in, and sometimes it will show just a number. How I can fix this, without rooting (waiting for official Froyo).

I was fumbling to mute the tone before it woke up the whole house. But I could not find any option. In meetings, it is a nuisance if the ringing blares away while I make my way out of the room to take the call.

If I happen to be in front of the phone, I can see the screen change showing an incoming call.If I am listening to Pandora Radio, when the phone rings, Pandora stops, but the phone never rings.If I am not near or looking at the phone this results in missing the call.If I shut off the phone and re-boot it appears to ring fine, but at some point later in the day or week it will quit ringing.I normally never turn off the phone. When an incoming call comes in after my phone has been dormant for a while (screen off), I am often unable to answer it, because the phone just hangs for about 5 or 10 seconds. That is to say, the phone rings, and the screen lights up and displays the caller ID, but when I try to drag the slider down on the screen to answer the call, nothing happens -- the screen is basically frozen up. It hangs like this for a few seconds -- just long enough that I'm unable to answer the call in time.
Does anyone else have this problem? Do you guys think this is a software issue or a hardware issue? And, most importantly, does anyone know of a fix for this?
Last few days I am having problems with incoming calls. Phone doesn't ring at all and caller is forwarded straight to answering machine.

First when i am pulling it out of my pocket i accidentally answer it before i am ready to. The other problem is when i see someone is calling and i try to answer it, the call gets hung up on sometimes. There was a setting on the Blackberry while sleeping, the phone would be the only thing to ring or make nose. Email notifications, etc., would be silent. View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a HTC Hero running the latest 1.5 software off of HTC site. One thing I have noticed, is that if I have any photos associated with a contact, the photo is heavily pixelated when it is displayed via an incoming/outgoing call.
I am using Gmail Sync to push email, calender and contacts. If I use the Pre or iPhone, then it shows up fine.
Is this a known bug? I have tried re-creating the image on the Hero - but once I select the area, it pixelates it again.
Im also having many problems after update to 2.1.
1. (and most annoying)- Black screen on incoming calls. Phone just freezes on black screen and I just cant answer the phone or do anything else for that matter. Just have to remove the back cover and battery.
2. lot less free memory after the update. using taskkiller but still- even after killing all non-system processes i have about 30MBs less memory
3. google maps, footprints, people, peep, stocks, gmail and some others keep opening by themselves, though ive killed the apps with appkiller.
4. so-many-mentioned lag on making calls. also. every-now-and-then while on call it makes another call to the same person and puts active one on hold...
5. does not recocnise some contacts and just shows their numbers when on in or outgoing call.
I've done several reeboots and also some hard resets on the device but still no use.Seriously concidering switching over to rooted ROM...
if I am on a call and a new call beeps in, how do I hang up on the existing call and answer the new call?If I select "answer" on the incoming call, it puts my existing call on hold.I don't want to put the existing call on hold, I want to stop that call to answer the new one.

I had that phone stolen and got a replacement that is identical but running newer software, I think. All is great, except for the fact that it no longer displays the time a call was made or received in the history. I see this as a very important feature to have on a phone, so how can I get it to work properly? At present it just says the date - no time.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOn my previous phone it had a "full lock" feature on it that when a text message or phone call came in it would show all stars on the screen and require my password before you could answer the call or view the text message does the hero have that option or is there an app I can download?
I tried the pattern lock thing it has but if a call comes through or a text message comes through it still allows you to answer and/or view the message without entering the lock pattern..
With the old 1.6 software on my X10, the lack of an automatic screen lock when in an active call was mildly annoying, as not all areas of the screen were active. However, with the new 2.1, just about anywhere on the screen becomes active (especially when juggling two simultaneous calls). What are the chances that we'll see a 'lock screen' function for phone calls? Those of us who actually use the phone for phone calls whilst holding it would surely appreciate it. Other android devices have had this for years.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI use Google Voice (love it) primarily because of it's visual voicemail on my Droid. I do have a Google Voice number, and I'm trying to decide whether to set the Droid app to "make calls using Google Voice" or not.
I have no problem with giving out a different number, and my placed calls seeing the GV number in caller ID.
My question is, does this affect how the call is actually connected, from a quality standpoint? I tired a call both ways, and the sound quality seemed a little bit different. But then, I am an obsessive compulsive weirdo.

Quick question about a nandroid backup. My wife just let me root her eris (I know this is the Droid forum, I have a Droid and have learned a lot from here). Ok I cut up a few different ROM's (some Eris and some Droid) and got it working on her phone. I made a nandroid backup, if someone else was to use the nandroid on their phone will there phone ring when someone calls her number?
View 11 Replies View Relatedmy Droid X is doing something completely unacceptable.It misses calls.There's no ring, no missed call indicator, just suddenly a voicemail indicator pops up to tell me that someone left a voice message.Sometimes it only happens once, and will receive the next call without a problem.Sometimes it'll do it three or four calls in a row.I've already talked to Verizon about it, and they've gone through the script. Before I call to yell at them until they replace the phone with one that works, I'm wondering if anyone else has any experience with the problem.
