On my Samsung Moment, a lot of times when someone is calling me, the phone will start vibrating or ringing as it should but the screen does not turn on showing the caller id until 4 or 5 rings, if at all. It makes answering calls before it goes to voicemail difficult.
Has anyone had this problem or know how to fix it?

Is there an app the will give you the location ("city/state") that an incoming call is coming from! I know the "htc pro2" does it & the iphone,haven't seen this on the moment yet!
View 3 Replies View RelatedI looked & was unable to find an answer to this when I searched. My phone is actually RINGING with the ringtone when I get a 2nd call on call waiting. I'd much prefer the beep as it is very disruptive and a friend asked me the other day what that noise was. It was my phone ringing for an incoming call!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI finally updated to 2.1 yesterday with the SDX kernels, and I've noticed (among other things) that my phone does not vibrate on notifications of e-mail or text messages, even though I'm specifically telling it to do so. It doesn't do it when the phone's on silent, vibrate, or at full volume. In fact, there's a "test" mode in HandcentSMS and ever though vibrate is set to "Always," it doesn't vibrate, even when I tap on "Test notification." Even if I set the main control to vibrate when a call comes in, email and texts still do not cause a vibration. Has anyone seen this? I apologize if this has already been spotted--if it has, if you could point me to the link, that would be great.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIf I put my phone in silent mode (so it just vibrates) I do not notice it vibrating for my instant message which is set to Yahoo IM. I notice it vibrating for calls, and text messages, and even emails, but not for yahoo IM. I have instant message set to go in the notification bar so it should, but i never notice it happening. Anyone have any ideas or do they know if it works on their phone?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn Gmail I have my contacts sorted by groups, easy enough, on occasion I need to add a new group or move a contact from one group to another, which is easy enough using a pc and my Gmail account. However, I cannot seem to add new groups or edit existing groups on my Moment. I can see the groups, I can sort by groups, but I cannot find an option that will allow me to add or edit any groups. Does anyone know how this is done on the Moment? I suppose I could use the browser to log on to my Gmail account and change it from there but isnt that sort of redundant since I am on my Gmail account using the Moment? Also, maybe someone knows when Moment contacts sync with my Gmail why dont the contact photos sync? One more thing, anyone ever on a call and it goes dead and after a few seconds the phone rings with unknown in the caller ID. When answer it is some from my address book that should have appeared in my caller ID Anyway, now I have to quickly hang up on this person to call the person my phone hung up on to receive this call. Its like the call waiting gets disengaged and hangs up the present call to allow the new incoming. I also had this problem on a HTC Hero I had before I got the Moment also.

I made a phone call, got voice mail, and tried to hang up. Before I could hang up, the person called me back, so I talked to that person. After the person hung up, I saw that the first call I made was on "hold", so I switched to it, and tried to hang up. But the phone would not hang up. Noting I did would end the phone call. I could use the dial pad, I could go to the home screen, but the phone call would not end. I held the "end" button down and nothing happened, and I couldn't get out of the phone call. So I finally popped the battery cover, and pulled the battery to reset the phone.

Actually its with my wife's phone, we both have Moments, mine works great but hers frequently (not all the time) doesn't shut off during phone calls. At first I thought she was just holding it strange but I have seen it for myself and its quite frustrating. The biggest issue is that its an intermittent problem so of course it never happens when at the Sprint store asking about replacing the phone. I did the recent update to the phone and it still does it. Any way to fix this short of getting a new one?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've already done the update but both pre and post update, my Moment intermittently won't respond when getting a call. The call comes in, I hear the ringtone but no matter what buttons I press, the phone won't respond. I have to wait until voicemail kicks in or the call has ended.
I called Sprint technical support and they're going to send a new (I hope it's new) phone. I hate to set up the phone for the third time. Is there a fix or should I just bite the bullet and get the new? phone? Has anyone had this problem?

I have not had the phone long enough to have much call waiting experiences but the times I did, I noticed I had to press menu and then go thru a menu to "click over" to the other call. This is g=fine and dandy from the comfort of your couch but is not advisable if you are driving a car. Is there a one button shortcut to go to the other call without having to look at a menu?

I was fumbling to mute the tone before it woke up the whole house. But I could not find any option. I usually can fix problems by myself, because I am skilled in Android, but this one I have to turn to my friends in the Android community and ask for some assistance. Next, the phone will randomly change my ringtone. Next, the Sense clock/weather widget displays a location that I don't even live in, and sometimes it will show just a number.
