Everything works fine but when a phone call comes while a song is playing the app does not pause the media player and you can hear the song during the phone call. Please tell me how to pause media player on a phone call and again resume it after call is ended.

I just got my Hero yesterday (coming from an iPhone 3GS). I have a major issue with the fact that if I am listening to music through the headphones and I receive a call, the music pauses. But when I remove the headphones to answer the call (I don't like using the headphones or any other bluetooth device to talk into) and am done my convo, as soon as I hang up the music starts blaring (leading to embarrassing moments etc).
Is there any way to make it so that it pauses after a call until I press play again? I tried every music player in the app store I could find but nothing did this, other than Astro Player which is not what I want in a music player (no organization by album, artist, playlists etc.)
I'm using the packaged headphones with my Samsung Epic. One thing I've noticed is that I am unable to pause or skip tracks with the headphones. This was something I could do with my G1 and Palm Pre. Can the EPIC do this as well? Or it just the headphones? Can someone confirm?

I have a long MP3 file (3hrs) that I need to pause during the day and switch to a different app and then back to the music player. Everytime I hit the Home button it stops the player.

Early this morning I d/l another music to try out. It's called Astro Player Nova.
The Nova is a beta app but looks to have promise. It contains several features that I look for and even includes the ever-elusive equalizer!
I use a combination of my Eris' stock player, Cubed (3) and Zimly to accomplish my desire to create playlists, queue songs and have an easy to use interface.
The stock player creates playlists the easiest of any app I've used that can do it, while I love the way that Cubed handles music selection and queuing of songs. Zimly has the easiest and slickest interface of any app I've tried. In fairness to Zimly, I recently found a way to create playlists and queue songs in the app. These features aren't as easy to find or identify in Zimly as within the stock music player or Cubed, but they exist.
Well, I am trying the Nova from Astro and it looks VERY promising! This app allows playlist creation, provides queuing of songs and...wait for it...Wait for it...IT HAS AN EQUALIZER!
This product is still in beta so I'm taking it through the paces, including the equalizer. I have an aux input in my car, I use wireless FM xmitter in my wife's car and I wear headphones when exercising, so I should be able to reasonably assess how useful the equalizer is.
One nice feature of the beta app is that it has a option to send feedback to the developers right from the app. This is nice for those of us who don't have a problem with apps transmitting user data.
I will update this thread as I use Nova more. Also, I'm interested in other opinions from new users.

I only ask as I think the current one that is default installed on the phone is poor, very poor. I use another app to play podcasts and even with the 'hide podcasts from default player' option ticked, they still show up in the music player.
Currently android devices play/pause on audio cable plugin. But I need it to do the exact same thing with the charge cable. Mainly because I use a dock for music playback on one of my stereo's and would like to just drop it into the dock and it will start playing, or pull it and it will pause

Personally, I would like to be able to use it as a Pause/Play toggle. When I am out and about listening to music, I very often need to pause. Currently, this requires pulling out the phone, pressing the power button, swiping it open, and (if the music screen is up) pressing pause. View 2 Replies View RelatedRecently when I use the stock/default music player, when I try to pause or stop it, it keeps playing. If I press the hard home key, it will go to the home screen but the music will keep playing even if I press pause. If I am still in the music player app and press the back button, it goes to a black screen and keeps playing. Today I tried to shut down my phone to get it to stop and it kept playing for a couple minutes and took much longer than usual for the phone to shut down.
Do I just have to use a different music player? Is the default one really buggy or something? Not sure if it has anything to do with it but I only noticed it after I updated to 2.2.
While my phone is in the locked/sleep mode, occasionally the music player starts up. I'm guessing I somehow push a button to start it - but can't seem to make it happen when I try. And - I don't realize it is playing until I unlock my phone, and see the music title scrolling across the screen.
