Anyone know why this is? I think one is from the e-mail app, but the other I'm not sure where it links to. I think ti's from the account google I have added (both are g-mail). Anyway to get one notification?

I'm sure this is an easy fix, but I can't seem to figure it out. I had Handcent installed on my captivate, however decided to stick with the installed messaging software. After uninstalling, I am now receiving two SMS notifications when I receive a text. One a white envelope, another a green bubble with "SMS" written in it. I can't find a place where two are coming from...any ideas?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am so frustrated with Double Twist. I downloaded the samsung drivers and double twist immediately fount my captivate. I downloaded some of my itunes music. While I was trying to download some of my video, Double Twist went blank and could no longer find my captivate. I have redownloaded the drivers, but the captivate is not being found.
Any suggestions?
Also, any idea how I can get some of my songs OFF of the Captivate?
Just got my captivate and have one problem. Sometimes when touching the haptic menu button (first from left), i get a double vibration. Like it senses my first touch but vibrates second time right away. I do not get this constantly. But it happens all the time when i first touch the home button then the menu button. Does not happen with any other button.
View 8 Replies View RelatedAs the title says: my mail notification shows that I have six emails (that is: the white number in the green circle) no matter whether I have no emails or plenty. When I delete my emails, it still shows six. I've tried rebooting. It used to work OK. Any ideas?

I had my BB configured to disable all LED notifications while in its holster as my wife really has a big problem with flashing lights while we are sleeping. (yeah, i dont get it either...close your eyes and goto sleep!) Anyway, since getting the Droid she has started that old complaint again about my phone flashing at night...soooo...is there any way to disable LED notification for e-mails and SMS? A locale plugin would be great, but I'll take whatever I can get to keep the peace!
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have finally figured out why I don't always get a notification for new mails on my HTC Hero.
I have setup an Exchange account for the build in mail application that comes with the phone, and I want it to give me a notification when I receive a new e-mail.
This will however only happen if the mail ends up in the Inbox folder in my Exchange account.
I do not get any notification if I have a rule that moves the mail automatically to a sub folder in the Inbox.
I like to sort my mails using a folder for each sender and I use the rules in Outlook to do this automatically, but this prevents the notification feature in the HTC Hero mail application from working.
I can still refresh a folder in the phone mail program and download all received mails, but no notifications and I have to do this manually.
It seems to me that the Inbox folder is only folder to be updated automatically by the ActiveSync connection.
I have my Data Syncronization settings set to As Items Arrive.
So do any of you out there know how to get the mail program to download all new mails as they arrive and give a notification on the phone, not matter what folder the mail ends up in on the Echange server?
You know what I'm talking about: for example when you get multiple new emails the notification icon in the status bar is augmented with a little red circle that contains number of unread mails. Twitroid has the same icon. Any idea how it's done? I don't think (or so I hope) there are 10000 similar icons. Is this red circle generated and overlaid the notification icon?
View 3 Replies View RelatedOK, after being on the phone with AT&T for 2 hours and being conferenced call with Samsung this is the result:
Samsung claims that *3282# is the Samsung code to lower the notification volume.
Samsung claims that they are now aware that *3282# is the AT&T code to check our data usage.
Because of this conflict, they claim they will send an OTA fix; but will not state when that will be.
AT&T has been receiving many complaints regarding this problem. Samsung claims they have never heard of this before. Apparently they forgot to log in my call last week?
I have handcent on my phone and whenever I get a text, the handcent and stock icons show up in the taskbar. How do I stop the default notification from showing up and just have the handcent one?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have AT&T with the Samsung Captivate.I came from an original iPhone The iPhone was having lots of issues such as getting a new voice mail notification but no missed call, or I would get a missed call and they said they left a voice mail, but I would get no voice mail notification.Texts were hit or miss and my wifi didn't work...and I guess that isn't really relevant to this conversation.Anyway, since AT&T finally put a decent android phone on the market, I got the captivate on Monday. Right out of the box it said I had 1 new voice mail. I check my voice mail and it says I have no voice mails. 2 days later it still says I have a voice mail, but when I check i don't. This is very frustrating. Does anyone have suggestions on how I can fix this problem? One thing I was thinking is that on the iPhone system I have a voice mail that I never checked and the captivate is reporting on that, but I'm not sure if that's really how it works.

I if use my Finger to swipe down, it still drags down the notifications, but I still can't see the time, battery, etc.
Is there a way to get a pop up notification for a text? Or something like on the iPhone where it notifies you that you still have unread msgs on the app itself? My problem is I clear the Notification bar and don't realize i have a text and then never see them.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I recently rooted my phone to 2.1. Great btw! but that is not the point. When I get a text message, I get a series of notifications. I get one from the stock phone's stock txt msg app, and one from the phone, which link to the stock app. Plus, if i download handsent, thats 3 notifications per text! So I take the stock txt msg app notifications off and everything so that one does not notify me anymore. But I still get a notification from my phone, not the stock txt app. I dont even know what app or program is notifying me of a text!!. The icon on the notification bar is a postcard (similar to the stock txt app). When I pull down the notification bar menu, the icon is an opened envelope. When I click it to check, it directs me to the stick txt app. It is weird and annoying. I just want my handsent app to notify me. How can I go about doing that? Any help would be great. There was some talk about this, but no resolution. Anyone else have this problem?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI got the Droid Razr Maxx when it came out and I am having an issue with Facebook for Android notifications. Whenever I receive a notification my phones both vibrates and makes the notification sound twice really fast. How can I change this to only have it do this once? It does it so fast that it cuts off the first one before the sound is finished. I don't have any special song or anything set as the notification just one of the standard ones on the phone.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI always create calendar appointments with an alarm. A few days ago I went to Settings/Sound and Display/Notification Ring tone and set it to "on time". Maybe a day or two later I created my own notification ring tone and set it in settings. The ring tone works fine in Astrid and Nudist. However, the calendar notifications still use the "on time" ring tone. I even tried changing the notification ring tone to "tweeters" but calendar still uses "on time", even after multiple reboots.

I have set the refresh interval at 30 minutes. and notifications checked (active). i have chosen messages, Pokes, Friend Requests and event invites all checked green under notification settings. For some reason, whenever i receive a friend request, i dont get notified under my notification bar. I always see that when i open the application. I was hoping to get notification without opening the app. do i need to do something to fix this? Or am i missing something very basic here.

Currently it is using the "On Time" tone, but when I change the notification ringtone, nothing changes. I can change the notification volume, which makes "On Time" louder, but I would like a different sound.

We use a paging system that sends me texts when I get paged.Last nite, unfortunately, as I slept with the phone next to the bed, I kept hearing notification sounds when email came in, and had to check my phone to make sure I wasn't getting paged.Is there anyway to set the notification bar to only notify me when a text comes in? Or is there a way to shut off the sounds for email and other notification messages over nite?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI mostly use wifi at home and office so I usually turn the 3G off using APNdroid and Smartbar. When I needed to use 3G on the street, I used APNdroid and Smartbar too. But there is just a grey 3G signal on the notification bar. I have to turn the phone off and turn it on to have 3G signal.
