I cannot find the option anywhere. I just want to change how the alarm sounds for a calendar event. I go into Calendar settings, it's not there. Where is it? 'm using Android 2.1 and a Samsung Captivate.

I would like to be able to set an appointment, and have it use a loud, noticeable, annoying tone (i.e. to wake me up!). Currently it is using the "On Time" tone, but when I change the notification ringtone, nothing changes. I can change the notification volume, which makes "On Time" louder, but I would like a different sound.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've spent days searching this forum (and the whole web) for a solution to this, but haven't found anything yet. Starting to wonder if it's possible. I've changed my ringtones on my Galaxy S to different custom MP3's for various contact groups. No problem there. I've changed my 'notification' sound to a custom mp3 from the settings/sounds menu. No problem there. But there calendar still plays the standard sound (I think it's called 'on time' in the Samsung sounds list) and I can't find anywhere to change it. At first I thought the calendar would've used the notification sound, but it never changes... so then I thought maybe you change it from within the calendar itself.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI always create calendar appointments with an alarm. A few days ago I went to Settings/Sound and Display/Notification Ring tone and set it to "on time". Maybe a day or two later I created my own notification ring tone and set it in settings. The ring tone works fine in Astrid and Nudist. However, the calendar notifications still use the "on time" ring tone. I even tried changing the notification ring tone to "tweeters" but calendar still uses "on time", even after multiple reboots.

When I lower the volume with the volume rocker switch, it only lowers the ring volume. Is there a way to set a global volume so that changing the volume changes ALL volumes together?

Have successfully imported my old calendar to Google Calendar which initially synced with the calendar on my captivate. However, when I add a new event to my phone calendar, it does not automatically show up on the Google calendar. the Samsung rep told me I have to edit each new even to mark it as a "Google Calendar". Is there any way to make this the default option on the Captivate phone? I am hoping to have automatic syncronization b/t the phone and the Google calendar without having to force it to do so each time.

1 - how do I change the alert notification for my calendar? Originally it was just the standard alert. When I view the settings there was the option to use the standard droid alert of use a ringtone. So, playing around I cheeked use a ring tone. It brought me to a directory(?) or folder with 4 songs that I had downloaded using railio(sp) ringtones. Now that's the only place I can get to for ALL alerts and ringtones. Even for my contacts it goes to the 4 songs I downloaded from railio ringtones and I can't navigate anywhere else.
I have gone into manage applications and uninstalled the ringtone program, but still can't get out of that spot for my alerts and ringtones. It's driving me crazy!
2 - My contacts have multiple entries for one person.
How can I delete the multiple entries for a contact? When I edit the contact information for a person I see 3 - 5 duplicate entries for one contact. When I first got my droid I synced with 2 google accounts - I didn't know what I was doing --- so, the information under one contact is repeated many times.
I got AT&T Samsung Captivate i897 (2.1 Eclair). I unlocked and rooted my phone. I was using simple free phone earlier which doesn't require data plan but after two weeks I bought samsung captivate, AT&T added $25 data plan. I got my phone from AT&T store where my friend works so he took my data plan out of the plan for now but he said they will find out and add into your plan again. Also, He said that they recognize by your IMEI number. My question is: Is there anyway I can change my IMEI number? I was thinking to use my simple free Nokia phone's IMEI number and use it for Samsung Captivate so AT&T thinks that I am using Nokia phone.

In the marketplace I saw a cool windows 7 theme but it said...(the app is by "diceman4") I need another app from the market but when I look for that app I can't find it. I guess its because at&t won't let it show. Basically I would like to know how to change themes. do I have to pay for each theme? If I have to root then I'm out of luck.

I installed Gemini, and turned on the Notifications, but it tells me to disable any other notifications. It is checked to sync and shows the sync (circle with arrows) symbol but it never syncs. In contrast, my GMAIL is having no problems syncing...only the calendar. My wife and I share our gmail account to keep calendar's in sync and it happens on her phone too.

I am wondering if there is any way to tell the phone just synchronize folders I tell it to synchronize (e.g. just contacts and calendar and emails moved to certain filters). I don't want to hog the bandwidth with junk emails but at the same time don't want to miss emails from certain people which is moved to specific folders based on rules.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOK, after being on the phone with AT&T for 2 hours and being conferenced call with Samsung this is the result:
Samsung claims that *3282# is the Samsung code to lower the notification volume.
Samsung claims that they are now aware that *3282# is the AT&T code to check our data usage.
Because of this conflict, they claim they will send an OTA fix; but will not state when that will be.
AT&T has been receiving many complaints regarding this problem. Samsung claims they have never heard of this before. Apparently they forgot to log in my call last week?
My exchange (not my google, but activesync) calendar is purple. Is there a way to change this?
View 5 Replies View RelatedOne of the things I miss the most from my iPhone is being able to dial directly from my Calendar appointments. When I was discussing this in the Android Lounge, some people made it seem like they do that all the time. Does anyone here know if this can be set up some how on the Captivate. Or do you need to use a different calendar or something? By dialing direct I mean you are on the item in your calendar, and you can just click a number in the notes and the dialer comes up without having to copy and pasted the number over to the dialer.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI am just using the stock calendar app that came with the Captivate. It syncs with google just fine, but the location addresses are not clickable to pull up the map. Very frustrating. I had tried out the EVO for 3 weeks before getting the Captivate, and the stock android calendar would let me pull it up via maps or use navigator which was awesome! Any ideas on what I can do to get the same feature? Maybe I need a different calendar app. Any recommendations?
