Samsung Captivate :: Default Zoom On Stock Browser
Jul 26, 2010Has anyone found a way to eliminate the default zoom? There should be a setting to turn it off, but I cant find it...what is the point of it when there is pinch-zoom?

Sep 16, 2010Coming from an iPhone to the Fascinate, I've noticed that the pinch to zoom feature in the browser auto-fits the text after the zoom in. On my iPhone that didn't happen. I can see where auto-fit would come in handy, but there are times I don't want the layout of the site to change. I just want to zoom it a little - I'll happily finger scroll to the left, right, up, or down to read something.
Is there a way to disable the auto-fit on the zoom-in for the stock browser? I know there are other browsers out there, but I'm asking about the stock browser.
Perhaps this is a feature coming in 2.2?

Dec 19, 2009I have an idea for a better alternative to multitouch pinch zoom than just the double tap zoom. Many people complain that the double tap zoom isn't intuitive since it doesn't zoom at the level you want it too.I dont know how feasible my idea is and dont know how it could be implemented but I thought Id share it anyway.Double Tap Slide Zoom as I'm calling it is basically the same as double tap zooming except on the second tap you keep your finger on the screen and slide up to zoom in or slide down to zoom out.

Nov 19, 2010Is it normal, when you double-tap on a website to zoom in, for the zoomed in portion to be nowhere near where you tapped?
I assumed that wherever you tapped, it zoomed in to that spot, but often it doesn't do that for me. Instead it might end up halfway up or down the page. Is that normal? It just happened on Wikipedia.
I'm using the stock browser.

Nov 2, 2012So, I've been pretty disappointed to know that the Nexus 4, 7 and 10 have no 16:9 aspect ratios, which means that widescreen videos will have black bars displaying on the top.
Currently, on my iPhone 4S and 3rd generation iPad, I can double tap and "crop" the video, and this makes the video fill up the entire screen and videos looks really nice. However, on a Galaxy Note and a Galaxy S III, I've tried doing the same thing but they refuse to crop.
Is there something that I am missing or is there no double tap to zoom at all?
Samsung Captivate :: Double Twist Went Blank - When Try To Download Some Videos
Aug 5, 2010I am so frustrated with Double Twist. I downloaded the samsung drivers and double twist immediately fount my captivate. I downloaded some of my itunes music. While I was trying to download some of my video, Double Twist went blank and could no longer find my captivate. I have redownloaded the drivers, but the captivate is not being found.
Any suggestions?
Also, any idea how I can get some of my songs OFF of the Captivate?

Aug 30, 2010Just got my captivate and have one problem. Sometimes when touching the haptic menu button (first from left), i get a double vibration. Like it senses my first touch but vibrates second time right away. I do not get this constantly. But it happens all the time when i first touch the home button then the menu button. Does not happen with any other button.

Aug 1, 2010I'm sure this is an easy fix, but I can't seem to figure it out. I had Handcent installed on my captivate, however decided to stick with the installed messaging software. After uninstalling, I am now receiving two SMS notifications when I receive a text. One a white envelope, another a green bubble with "SMS" written in it. I can't find a place where two are coming from...any ideas?

Aug 28, 2010My Captivate's browser will crash / shut down, upon attempting to launch a web page.
This occurs with random pages, it happens about once out 20 times I go to load any web page.
It does not happen on the all pages, just certain pages. (I've failed to note which pages so far) When it does happen, if I try to open that same web page again again, it crashes. If I immediately try another web page it's fine.
My Captivate is original, w/ver 2.1 Eclair, not rooted (yet) and otherwise operates very well. So far it's the only bug I've had.

Someone was able to write a program for iphone to do this but they won't for android. They are fanbois so no dice.
