I am getting a error from a text I got yesterday from a friend. I deleted his THANKS BRO and it keeps coming back like I have a text from the original time yesterday same message? It's driving me nuts any suggestions?

OK, after being on the phone with AT&T for 2 hours and being conferenced call with Samsung this is the result:
Samsung claims that *3282# is the Samsung code to lower the notification volume.
Samsung claims that they are now aware that *3282# is the AT&T code to check our data usage.
Because of this conflict, they claim they will send an OTA fix; but will not state when that will be.
AT&T has been receiving many complaints regarding this problem. Samsung claims they have never heard of this before. Apparently they forgot to log in my call last week?
I have AT&T with the Samsung Captivate.I came from an original iPhone The iPhone was having lots of issues such as getting a new voice mail notification but no missed call, or I would get a missed call and they said they left a voice mail, but I would get no voice mail notification.Texts were hit or miss and my wifi didn't work...and I guess that isn't really relevant to this conversation.Anyway, since AT&T finally put a decent android phone on the market, I got the captivate on Monday. Right out of the box it said I had 1 new voice mail. I check my voice mail and it says I have no voice mails. 2 days later it still says I have a voice mail, but when I check i don't. This is very frustrating. Does anyone have suggestions on how I can fix this problem? One thing I was thinking is that on the iPhone system I have a voice mail that I never checked and the captivate is reporting on that, but I'm not sure if that's really how it works.

I if use my Finger to swipe down, it still drags down the notifications, but I still can't see the time, battery, etc.
Is there a way to get a pop up notification for a text? Or something like on the iPhone where it notifies you that you still have unread msgs on the app itself? My problem is I clear the Notification bar and don't realize i have a text and then never see them.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI always create calendar appointments with an alarm. A few days ago I went to Settings/Sound and Display/Notification Ring tone and set it to "on time". Maybe a day or two later I created my own notification ring tone and set it in settings. The ring tone works fine in Astrid and Nudist. However, the calendar notifications still use the "on time" ring tone. I even tried changing the notification ring tone to "tweeters" but calendar still uses "on time", even after multiple reboots.

I have set the refresh interval at 30 minutes. and notifications checked (active). i have chosen messages, Pokes, Friend Requests and event invites all checked green under notification settings. For some reason, whenever i receive a friend request, i dont get notified under my notification bar. I always see that when i open the application. I was hoping to get notification without opening the app. do i need to do something to fix this? Or am i missing something very basic here.

Currently it is using the "On Time" tone, but when I change the notification ringtone, nothing changes. I can change the notification volume, which makes "On Time" louder, but I would like a different sound.

We use a paging system that sends me texts when I get paged.Last nite, unfortunately, as I slept with the phone next to the bed, I kept hearing notification sounds when email came in, and had to check my phone to make sure I wasn't getting paged.Is there anyway to set the notification bar to only notify me when a text comes in? Or is there a way to shut off the sounds for email and other notification messages over nite?

Is there some custom theme apk I can install that will let me fiddle with the stuff in the notification bar? View 1 Replies View RelatedI mostly use wifi at home and office so I usually turn the 3G off using APNdroid and Smartbar. When I needed to use 3G on the street, I used APNdroid and Smartbar too. But there is just a grey 3G signal on the notification bar. I have to turn the phone off and turn it on to have 3G signal.

I see the same symbols when I pull down the notification bar, right above where it says "No Notifications" if I don't have any. They are @@@^oe@@ I find it very weird. View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got my captivate about a week ago and have been having issues with my alarm clock. I set my alarm to wake me up every morning. Some mornings I am up before the alarm goes off so I turn it off, or atleast I think I turn it off. When the alarm is on I see the clock in the notification bar. So when I wake up I click the clock icon and turn off the alarm. I no longer see the icon on the notification bar but the alarm seems to go off anyway. The repeat for the alarm is set at "once". I just go in every night and turn it on. It just seems to go off anyway even when it is turned off earlier in the morning.ks

When I lower the volume with the volume rocker switch, it only lowers the ring volume. Is there a way to set a global volume so that changing the volume changes ALL volumes together?

I saw a similar problem in the HTC Hero forums, without a concrete answer, but I wondering if it were a problem for Galaxy S users as well. Basically, I want to use the Gmail app that comes pre-installed. I have my Accounts set up to sync everything Google related: contacts, gmail, calendar, and picasa [which I don't use, but whatever]. I Don't want to use the Email app [the one with the @ symbol on the icon]. The problem I'm facing is there appears to be a fairly large delay between receive the email on my computer, and receiving it on my phone. I have Wifi Sleep set to Never, and enabled Notifications on the Gmail app as well.
