How do I get the Droid to vibrate AND play the Droooid sound EVERY text message regardless of if the volume is on or off? I want incoming text messages to ALWAYS vibrate. And play the sound if the volume is off silent.

The Droid X is my first Android phone and while I am pretty tech savvy I cannot find a setting anywhere that will allow me to set my txt messages to vibrate when they arrive.

View 3 Replies View RelatedAll I want to do is create a simple "vibrate" profile that turns phone calls and text messages to vibrate. I have the call part but the messages just come in silently with no vibrate. I have the following in the task:
1) Vibrate on Notify: On
2) Vibrate on Ringer: On
3) Silent Mode: Vibrate
So I know how to use electronics, I know how to read manuals, I know how to work settings, etc. I'm not a beginner. However I do need help. My phone doesn't ring audibly. I do get vibrate, but no sound. Rings don't work with standard system ringtones, my music, ringdroid ringtones. All I get is vibrate.On the other hand, notification tones are working perfectly fine (from anywhere).

So my deal is, I want to be able to have my phone do everything and vibrate when it's in "vibrate mode" but when I have it set to ringer of any sort, I don't want it to vibrate at all, even during my texts. What can I change to let this work? Right now, I have selected "vibrate also for notifications of SMS." where it'll ring and vibrate. I just want it to ring during "ring mode" and vibrate only during "vibrate mode"

When getting a new text, it acts as if its on silent and not vibrate or anything but when i receive a phone call it vibrates. So i download Handscent to see if it vibrates with that app and it didnt. I have tried everything I could think of except doing a hard reset, which I don't really want to do. It seems to only not want to work with text messages. Phone works fine, as far as vibrate goes, and anything else that vibrates works without a problem.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo just yesterday 12-1-09 my phone stopped receiving text messages and phone calls. People try to call me and get 4 rings then voicemail. My phone doesnt ring at all. I can place calls and browse the internet, run sprint navigation and all my apps just fine. It has been a perfect phone ever since I bought it. (11-01-09). I did a factory Hard Reset and still my phone didnt receive calls. Called Sprint and they had me turn off my phone and refreshed some info. Had to change the MSID # when i turned my phone back on but still nothing. Has anyone else had this happen to them. The only way I can receive my text messages is if I place a call then they seem to come through.

I looked through all the other threads and they didn't help.
I've gone through the sms settings and turned vibration "on"
I even have it in vibrate mode. that didn't work.
regular mode. didn't work.
I fixed it just in case anyone else runs into this problem:
Download "sound manager" open the app, click your "menu" button and click "vibrate options"
You'll see that vibration notifications are turned off.
Did a quick search and found nothing. Out of the blue last week, the vibrate notification for both emails and texts has stopped working. It is still working in vibrate mode for calls though. I use Profiles app and have changed nothing on it.

It is the same on incoming calls. The vibrate works if I turn the ringer off and go to vibrate mode, but it won't work with the ringer.
