HTC Incredible :: Quick One Press Button For Ring Vibrate Ring Phone Only Silent
Jun 15, 2010I miss my Blackberry choices for notification, in particular, phone only. A quick one press button for ring, vibrate, ring phone only, silent. I use profile and find it a little too in depth. I want something simple. I also think there may be a gremlin or two as I have found my settings changed without my doing anything.

Nov 16, 2009I'm sure there is a way to do this, I just haven't messed around enough, I guess. Whenever I put my phone on "vibrate", it kicks my phone into silent mode for all other alerts, so I never know when I get text msgs or chats. If I go into the settings and uncheck the Silent Mode, it takes my phone's ringer off of vibrate mode. So.... what I'm looking to have happen is to have my phone on vibrate only, and recieve my other alerts as vibrate as well.

May 16, 2010When our app gets updated sometimes the buttons on existing widgets get the wrong icon drawables, and sometimes the layout itself is broken. I believe this is because the update has different values for some of the drawable and other resources, since they're generated alphabetically, but the widget host still retains the old ids. A delete and re-create of the widget fixes the problem, but a number of users get confused by it and of course it just looks bad.
Is there something I should be doing to prevent this? If not are there any workarounds, other than making all the resources used by widgets start with "0" or something equally ugly?
Nexus :: New Gmail Address Update Messed Up Syncing And Authentication
May 9, 2010People may have noticed the recent TLD change for UK gmail addresses previously googlemail.co.uk and now gmail.com. With this, it seems to have messed up my syncing and authentication for some reason. I changed over the other day and ever since I kept getting a message saying the authentication failed. I then added my gmail address as another account and set it to sync gmail (can't sync the calendar for some reason it's not an option). I have not received any push notifications of new mail and I have to manually refresh from within the mail app to get new e-mails. I don't want to remove the previous googlemail.co.uk as it says I have to restore my phone to factory settings (possibly losing messages etc.)

Oct 3, 2010My desire will not always ring the sms ring notifier when i recieve texts, it annoyed me so much that i decided to do a warranty swap, and the new one does the same thing!is this a standard android thing? it seems to me that if i have recieved or sent a text to somebody within 30 minutes, it will not ring, as though it expects me to be hovering over my phone staring at it for a reply, is this a normal issue? and is there a way to fix it?

Nov 29, 2010since updating to 2.1 which actually went quite smoothly once i'd 'found' my contacts, my phone vibrates as well as makes a sound on incoming texts. The help guide (also disappeared off phone but can stll access online version) still refers to tapping settings & then tapping notifications.... well since the upgrade my settings menu has changed beyond recognition & when you tap settings there is no notifications option! The nearest is 'sound & display', in which i can change the sound used for texts alerts and also has a phone vibrate for incoming calls (which is unchecked) but nothing re vibrate for incoming texts. I know its only a little thing but its really bugging me. how do i turn the vibrate off?

Feb 1, 2010After the Touchdown update I can't get any of my notifications to vibrate for either email or SMS. The phone will still vibrate. I emailed Touchdown and they said that they have heard some things about the vibrate issue but have not been able to duplicate the problems, he recommended a reboot which after two times has not done anything to help the situation. I have to have the vibrate settings for work so I'm screwed without them.

May 15, 2010I recently updated my eris to 2.1 and I really like it. The main thing that is currently annoying me with it is that when I am on a call, it still vibrates when I receive a text message. I like that it vibrates when I receive texts just not while I'm on the phone. How do I change this 'Phone Only' preference? 1.5 always just had a little beep or sound for the notifier never vibrated?
