View 2 RepliesI have the external speaker (the one on the bottom rear of the phone) volume set to MAX but for use as hands free in the car, I found the volume to be tinny and not nearly loud enough. My guess is that there aren't any settings I'm missing.
View 1 Replies View RelatedDuring a video hangout, the audio randomly switches from "speakerphone" mode to handset mode. The video itself is fine. The other person's audio will get really quiet because it's coming from the handset speaker, and they will complain that they can't hear me anymore.
After this happens, I can manually hit the speaker button and choose the option to use the Speaker rather than Handset mode, and the problem fixes itself. However, the fix usually lasts less than a couple minutes. Within 1-3 minutes it will change back to handset mode. This happens even if the phone is sitting down on the table during the hangout and I'm not interacting with it and there's no chance for me to inadvertently press a button or cover up the proximity sensor.
I'm using an EVO LTE with a stock ROM w/ root if matters.
I rooted my phone a week or so ago and love it 100 times more than before. However, I use it daily to listen to audio books. Before rooting when I had my earpiece in - if I received a message or call then sound came only through the earpiece. Now it comes through the earpiece and the external speaker on the phone. Suggestions on how to stop it?

How do I adjust the volume on the alarm clock? For some reason, it only vibrates and I get no sound...luckily I'm a light sleeper.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI bought my Motorola Xt531 about 2 months ago. Since then, I rooted it, uninstalled carrier apps, just the usual. Recently (like 2 weeks ago), I tried to take a picture with it, but in the moment I launched de camera app, a message flashed saying that the camera stopped responding (the exact message, in portuguese was "A camera parou de responder") and since then, all I can use when I enter the camera app (stock, or any other) is the front camera.
I tried reseting the phone, clearing app cache and data, and nothing solved the problem. Is it a hardware issue? (it never fell on the floor, or under water, nothing like that).
I'm having problems with the ear-speaker of my HTC Hero. It has been working great for near 4 months now then out of nowhere the ear-speaker stopped working yesterday. Whenever I try to make or receive a call I cannot hear the other person speaking. If I switch to speaker or headset then I can hear them just fine, but if I try to use the ear-speaker there's nothing. Anyone got any bright ideas on what's wrong/how to fix it?
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy cheap and venerable speakerphones have always been plenty loud, therefore the Droid speaker sound is a bit of a letdown. Can it be improved in any way? Maybe hardware, or maybe somebody developed a better driver for the stock speaker?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to tell if an app is currently using the speaker (playing music or generating other sounds)? Specifically, I'd like to detect if an alarm clock is going off (not only the one that comes with the system, but any alarm clock), but I'll settle for simply knowing if any sounds are coming out of the speaker.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a way in Android to force output through the phone speaker, even if a headphone is plugged into the jack? I know there has to be a way because when you are talking on the phone, you can put someone on speaker phone, even if there is headphones plugged into the jack.

No speaker.I can get the backside speaker to come on in a phone call, but any other apps, games, etc-- sound is only thru earpiece, not the backside. Is there some setting I've missed. View 1 Replies View RelatedMy fiance has already gone through 2 Droid eris well he is on his second one. He had to bring the first one back due to his external speaker sounded blown, and now the replacement one he got is doing the same thing. We were wondering if this is a popular problem and if the next replacement he gets Saturday is going to do the same thing all over again. He never uses the external speaker only for the message alerts. We are both stumped onto why the same thing would happen to both phones. I have the same phone and mine hasnt done it I do have mine on vibrate a lot more then his.

View 2 Replies View RelatedHow can I route Call sound to phone speaker on cm7 without using any Paid apps. My phones mic doesn't work and no mechanics were able to fix it. No HTC care or something is present in my city. I am able to use my phone with headphone mic. Now I want to fix the problem headphone mic to my phone but only problem is I need the sounds to come out of the phone speaker/sbox.
Basically :
My phone need to do this:
Headphone mic for voice input.
BUT outputs call sound through phone speaker or sound box.
I only need it during phone calls but all time is okay too.
I'm rooted, s off on cm7.2 drowning child's kernel, on the Intruder(At&t)
Version of the now low end phone HTC Aria.
It has a room choice of cyanogenmod 6 and 7.2 official, cm9,10 custom ported.
I just got a Droid 2 and I think the phone is amazing... except for one thing. I am amazed that the volume rocker doesn't function logically like any other volume rocker. I have heard brief mention of this being a common problem, but I can't seem to find any other threads on the issue. Here's what I want my volume rocker to do: (just like any other phone,) I want it to adjust volume level, then go to Vibrate (everything!) and then go to Silence (everything!) Right now, when it goes to silent, some things still vibrate, and when it's on vibrate, some things still ring--and it is driving me crazy! On a related note, it would also be awesome if I could set it up to silence all notifications beside phone calls, text messages, and the alarm, when I want it to, like when I'm sleeping. If somebody could humor me and tell me exactly what I need to do to get my D2 to function in these respects like a regular phone, but while not impeding its other awesome functions, that would be great.

This may not be enough vibration for me to notice at times while its in my pocket. Is there away to adjust the frequency of vibrations?
