May 10, 2010How do I adjust the volume on the alarm clock? For some reason, it only vibrates and I get no sound...luckily I'm a light sleeper.

Sprint HTC Hero :: Way To Adjust Snooze Time On Built In Alarm Clock?
Apr 21, 2010I guess I'm one of the lucky ones that can get mms on my hero but when i download the incoming mms it shows up once then after i close it i can not view or find the picture again. Ive mounted the phone and looked in the download folder of sd card but nothing is there, and its certainly not in any of my albums. Is this yet another bug int he Hero's mms handling? a side question is there a way to adjust the snooze time on the built in alarm clock?

Dec 14, 2009Using the default alarm clock, this morning i noticed my alarm was only vibrating and is no longer playing any sound. Has anyone else had this problem? I have the volume on all other applications turned up, not sure why this is suddenly doing this.

Jun 4, 2010For the past two days my alarm goes off, the phone vibrates, but there's no sound it's only the noise of the vibrate that wakes me up.This is a recent thing, I've checked the volume is up, I don't have a taskiller installed, I've set and reset the alarm sound to go off, but even when I go into settings to change the sound, if I select a new sound it doesn't ring out. However, if I go to change my ringtone, that does make a sound. I've turned the phone on and off, I've deleted and set new alarms to no avail.I just don't get it... can anyone help? Software version is 1.0.0.A6288, firmware 1.5 if that helps. Installed new OS about a month ago.

Apr 16, 2014I have Android 4.2 on my mobile phone which I have bought recently.
Everything is running fine on my phone so far but with the exception of my clock's alarm volume.
For example:I set the alarm volume to max, I go and set my clock alarm to ring and when the alarm rings the volume is set to very low.When I check back to verify the volume, the volume is set to very low. I am very sure that I have set it to max though.
I have tried to reset my phone to factory settings, it didn't work..

Oct 13, 2009Been trying hard since sunday to figure out how to add custom alarms to the alarm clock. I just miss alot of my alarms and want to be able to continue to use them on the Hero. so far everything I have tried does not work. I even created a "Media" folder with 3 sub folders "Alarms", "notifications", "Ringtones" even by placing them in these folders still nothing. I have been able to use the media player to add my music as a ringtone, however the music I have placed in the ringtone folder does not show up either in my phone.

Oct 14, 2009I noticed that you can't adjust media volume without first playing media. Like you have to, for example, press the play button before pressing rocker volume in order to adjust media volume or else you'll just be adjusting ringer volume. This is unfortunate since games also use media volume. So if you wonna start up a quick game in a quiet setting, your in trouble if you were listening music before and never turned down/off the media volume. Unless I'm missing something and there is in fact a way to do it?

Jan 17, 2010I read that the flip clock is a battery drainer, so I figured I'd switch it out. I like the HTC weather, but I sorta want a digital clock.
HTC's alarm settings etc. are great, I'd like to keep those setting as the clocks that are on the market I'm guessing won't have as many features if they're free.
But can I swap my HTC clock widget yet still have HTC run my alarm? I'm not really sure if I can do this or not, but I didn't want to download/install a clock over the stock one and need to get it back, so I was wondering if anyone had done this before.

I've tried searching for this issue but have come up with nothing, so if it's been posted, please point me in the right direction.I've had my Hero since January (Sprint) and this only came up in the last couple of days. About a week ago (05/28/10) my Hero froze and Sprint issued me a new phone which they updated to 2.1. On Thursday (06/03/10) I noticed the sound when I use my touch screen is much louder than it used to be. I'm almost positive the new phone wasn't quite this loud when I first got it. The sound I'm talking about is not the 'tone' sound as I've disabled that, but the 'ticking' sound when you launch an app or shortcut. Does this make sense? Does anybody know what I'm talking about? Is there a way to make this sound quieter? I'd rather not disable it completely as I like a little bit of feedback that a button has been hit.

Dec 15, 2009Last night I was bored and browsing through my soundboards looking for a new ringtone. I was opening and closing apps, running task killer, if I thought it necessary. Everything was fine, until all of a sudden my media volume stopped working. On screen, while I'm playing media, I can pull the volume up and down, but no sound comes out. The Alarm volume, and ringer volume continue to work. So this morning I snooped around the forums and decided to reset my phone. All was going well, until I accidentally played some mp3's that were on my SD card. Now the media volume has stopped working again and when I turn on my phone, my music app has attached itself to that screen that you have to pull down to log in.
I didn't request that, and can't find a way to turn that off in the settings. To be honest, I am a new user. I've had my hero for two weeks, and I'd love to know that my problems are user error and not a faulty phone. I've also re-downloaded task killer and am wondering if that was a bad choice. I'm still at the point of just playing with my phone: launching apps, installing, uninstalling, etc, and it seemed like a good idea. In a worst case scenario, I'm thinking of deleting the mp3's and doing another reset. But if I have to keep doing this regularly, the exercise will get a little old.

Jan 6, 2010this is getting very irritating... I have 3 alarm times set on my phone (stock clock), and the volume keeps resetting to whatever must be the default I guess. Here's what happens: I set the alarms as "on" (check box), then open the time itself, set the ringtone, and adjust the volume while doing so (I set it to max to make sure it wakes me up). The alarm clock goes off in the morning, very loudly, and wakes me up. I snooze, maybe a couple times or so (come on, it's the most comfortable time in the morning! haha). Eventually I dismiss it and get out of bed.
Next night, I check the alarm clock set to on, go to sleep. Alarm goes off in the morning, but it is very quiet. Just barely wakes me up, and not instantly. I check the alarm clock volume afterward, and it is only halfway up! This keeps happening, and I can't pinpoint why Of course, I can turn it up again, but it is very annoying to have to do this every single time I want to set my alarm. Just clicking one single checkbox to turn my alarm on is much easier than turning it on, opening it, opening the ringer chooser, adjusting the volume, and backing out of everything. My ringer volume stays where I put it, so why won't the alarm volume?!? I'd rather not install another app, since this one is fine other than the volume issue. But this little issue is driving me insane!

Nov 16, 2009I've used the default alarm clock that comes stock with the phone. Since I only need the alarm clock for weekday reminders, I'd prefer that the pone just vibrates or allows me to choose a more soothing "alarm" tone.
The only tones available for this alarm clock are extremely annoying and loud "alarms" that are not suitable in the classroom. (No, I am not a college student, but rather a principal at a private school.)
There are many ways to make the stock alarm clock work, but I can't find any of these settings.
I'd like to change the stock alarm clock program to simply vibrate with no alarm noise.
I'd like the choice to add a more quieter alarm sound, or lower the sound of the alarm ringer.
I'd like to change the functions of the buttons on the side of the phone--default settings are to snooze the alarm I guess? By the time I get the phone out of my pocket, one of the side keys are pressed, dooming to another annoying sound in exactly 10 minutes.

Jul 17, 2010I noticed that when turning down the volume of the ringer with the volume rocker it doesn't automatically turn down the notification volume as well. Is there a way to set the volume rocker to adjust both notification and ringer volume to the same level? You can test this by going under Settings/Sound and Display/Ringer Volume...and try adjusting the volume with the rocker and it only adjust the Ringer Volume.

Mar 29, 2010Sometimes the clock will go weird, and the time won't change unless I touch the phone. This morning I woke up at half 8, I went to look at the time on my phone and it said 04:36, then after a couple of seconds updated to the actual time of half 8. As a result of this, my alarm set to half 6 didn't go off. I don't have any task killer apps, my phone was not turned off, or on silent.
