My cheap and venerable speakerphones have always been plenty loud, therefore the Droid speaker sound is a bit of a letdown. Can it be improved in any way? Maybe hardware, or maybe somebody developed a better driver for the stock speaker?

I updated radio, rooted with unrevoked 3 and installed syraider vanilla. Now i have external speaker issue. Sound crackly like its blown. Anyone have a similiar issue?Dont know if its software related or not.Was fine before I updated.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm having problems with the ear-speaker of my HTC Hero. It has been working great for near 4 months now then out of nowhere the ear-speaker stopped working yesterday. Whenever I try to make or receive a call I cannot hear the other person speaking. If I switch to speaker or headset then I can hear them just fine, but if I try to use the ear-speaker there's nothing. Anyone got any bright ideas on what's wrong/how to fix it?

No speaker.I can get the backside speaker to come on in a phone call, but any other apps, games, etc-- sound is only thru earpiece, not the backside. Is there some setting I've missed. He had to bring the first one back due to his external speaker sounded blown, and now the replacement one he got is doing the same thing. We were wondering if this is a popular problem and if the next replacement he gets Saturday is going to do the same thing all over again. He never uses the external speaker only for the message alerts. We are both stumped onto why the same thing would happen to both phones. I have the same phone and mine hasnt done it I do have mine on vibrate a lot more then his.

Before rooting when I had my earpiece in - if I received a message or call then sound came only through the earpiece. Now it comes through the earpiece and the external speaker on the phone. No HTC care or something is present in my city. I am able to use my phone with headphone mic. My phone need to do this:
Headphone mic for voice input.
BUT outputs call sound through phone speaker or sound box.
I only need it during phone calls but all time is okay too.

It has a room choice of cyanogenmod 6 and 7.2 official, cm9,10 custom ported.
I have what I thought was a flawless Epic, till this morning my speaker started sounding like static was coming out of it. Now everything that comes out the speakers sounds like static or like a blown speaker. Sucks cause now I have to take it back to bestbuy. I'm hopping somehow it fixes by its myself.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI got my phone today, but I'm having an issue with the earpiece speaker rattling. It makes a high pitched buzzing sound basically. Does anyone else have this problem? If I press on the grill covering the speaker it seems to go away. I'm planning on taking it to a Sprint store to compare.

I myself am not experiencing the call quality issue, so I can't vouch for the results. Link above indicates it may cause extra drain on battery. I used this same code years ago on a Samsung "dumb" phone and it did wonders for call quality and I did not notice a difference in battery life.

All have showed ~100dBm and usually 0-1 bars Now i installed Uncommon Sense 1.0 from the ROM Manager. Now it shows 6 full bars at all times. I checked in settings and I'm at about 64-70dBm In all of my years on Verizon i have never had good signal in this apartment. Id hate to jinx it by discussing it but what gives?

I can live with the battery issue until the extended battery comes out. I love this phone and don't want to send it back but I really might have no other choice. What are the chances that some update will improve the issue or is it a hardware issue that might never get resolved?
