After updating my EVO, all my sound comes out of my earpiece only. No speaker.I can get the backside speaker to come on in a phone call, but any other apps, games, etc-- sound is only thru earpiece, not the backside. Is there some setting I've missed. It's aggravating.Wife updated her EVO fine, and she doesnt have that problem-- Rebooted a couple of times.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI finally changed the voicemail system on my Hero from Sprint's "visual voicemail" (which is misleading because it doesn't transcribe voicemails) to Google Voice. It's nice to see my transcribed voicemails now. However, when I actually want to hear them (if the transcription didn't work well), it only comes through the external speaker; the speaker on the back of the phone. I went into Google Voice settings and under "Voicemail Playback" I tried the only two options: "Play via Handset" and "Play via Speaker." Unfortunately, both play through the speaker phone speaker. How do I change it to the phone speaker? I also can't adjust the volume, so the whole world hears my voicemails through the external speaker.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm having problems with the ear-speaker of my HTC Hero. It has been working great for near 4 months now then out of nowhere the ear-speaker stopped working yesterday. Whenever I try to make or receive a call I cannot hear the other person speaking. If I switch to speaker or headset then I can hear them just fine, but if I try to use the ear-speaker there's nothing. Anyone got any bright ideas on what's wrong/how to fix it?

He had to bring the first one back due to his external speaker sounded blown, and now the replacement one he got is doing the same thing. We were wondering if this is a popular problem and if the next replacement he gets Saturday is going to do the same thing all over again. He never uses the external speaker only for the message alerts. We are both stumped onto why the same thing would happen to both phones. Before rooting when I had my earpiece in - if I received a message or call then sound came only through the earpiece. Now it comes through the earpiece and the external speaker on the phone. It has a room choice of cyanogenmod 6 and 7.2 official, cm9,10 custom ported.
Never had this problem before with a phone but I can not here my voice mail with the speaker on or off, I've had the volume all the way up so what gives ?

View 5 Replies View RelatedThe voice call speaker on my Legend has become extremely unpleasant to use for calls. I can only describe the output as scratchy, buzzy or raspy. At first I had hoped it was a reception issue, but since the headset provided works with perfect clarity during a call, I am sure it must be a hardware issue. This issue started 2 months after I bought the phone.I contacted the nearest Bell store (Canadian mobile provider), and described the problem. I was told that 3 other similar cases with the HTC Legend had been received that the representative had heard of.Has anyone else experienced a similar problem? If you sent it away to be fixed, was the problem corrected with no further difficulties?I'm hesitant to pay for the shipping and repair costs if this is a persistent problem or hardware malfunction that is prone to happen time after time.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe speaker on the back has a support beneath it (where the speaker(s) would be), except in one area. Off center to the right there is a hollow area where it can be dented, which I found out the hard way. I just happened to look at it and notice this defect. Having never dropped mine, I have no idea what could have caused this other than something pressing on it in my pocket. Upon further inspection I found out that this area is in fact pliable, due to the lack of support behind it.Will be dropping by VZW on monday. Since I'm within my 30 days until jan. 3rd, I hope they replace it for me. It would really suck to have to pay my $89 deductible (or whatever it is) just for this, but I can't be showing off my Droid with a dented speaker
