Is there a better music player than the standard music player I've got with my Hero? The sound isn't exactly high quality, virtually no bass even with good headphones. Maybe there is an equalizer app that I can use to improve my sound quality?

I have had my Hero for a few days. My prior phone was the Palm Pre. The pre was a great phone and when webos 1.40 came out, video recording was great. The downside of the phone is that it felt that I was holding an egg and the overall build was horrible. Not to mention that the screen would go funky if it was used for more than 5 minutes. I went with the Hero because I love HTC phones. I've heard so many great things about it. I have issues with taking pictures and recording videos with this phone. The picture quality is horrible and so is the video recording. I have only recorded one video...its of my 5 year old singing (25 seconds) and it looks like she is possessed! It appears that the phone cannot keep up with movement. I know it doesn't have a flash and I know how to adjust the settings. Even in bright light everything appears washed out. Are there any fixes or 3rd party apps that could resolve this? Will the new 2.1 update improve things?
View 8 Replies View RelatedMy Hero has the latest ROM and is running on O2. when i get an MMS, the picture quality is terrible. i have been sent MMSs from different phones (inc. iphone) and different networks. The pictures look great on the phones on which they were taken, but appear low resolution when received on my hero. I can't find any setting to increase the quality. I do notice that when I open the received photo in albums, it is super tiny. So it looks like the Hero (or Android) is shrinking them. Are there some settings I can change? I can't find anything that appears relevant. Or else an app that will help?

A 5mp camera should be able to have very good quality don't you think? My friend has the i phone and i'm pretty sure its not better than 5mp and its video quality is amazing.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo yea I'm a hardcore audiophile and any crackle/pop in my music really annoying. I have had the EVO since Friday, and everything I try (Slacker, Pandora, last.FM, whatever) cracks/pops when the audio is going through the 3.5MM jack to my car. I'm already on a wait list for replacement because I think it's faulty hardware. I've tried multiple cables and even HQ settings.
Coming from a Touch Pro 2 which had amazing sound quality through the 3.5mm jack, needless to say I'm less than happy with the EVO since I primarily stayed with Sprint for uncapped data. If I get a replacement and it still continued, looks like I may be wandering over to that new iPhony. I urge everyone with this issue to post here so they can resolve it or figure out whats going on.
Am I the only one who thinks the sound quality of the Eris SUCKS? No matter what player I use (stock player, TuneWiki, MixZing, DroidLive, Last, LastFM, Pandora (to a slightly lesser degree)), music comes out incredibly muddled, like I'm listening through pillows over my ears. True of any of 5 pairs of headphones I use (and I'm not about to go out and buy $100 headphones), including through my car adapter.

I'm talking about the headphone output when playing music MP3's or Pandora streaming ... not call/reception quality. The sound is just not as clear, bass is very muddy, and treble is compressed.
Anyone else make these observations? Maybe it's just my phone? Fwiw, I compared the Inc against a Creative Xen Micro MP3 player and a Nu Force USB DAC on my PC. Headphones I tested were with decent Westone UM2 and Grado SR80. Most of my audio sources were electronic / trance MP3's at high bit rate, which tend to have a very full range of bass & treble.
I'm assuming this is just HTC's electronic design ... choice of DAC's, opamps, etc.
Question, when we listen to music on our X10's through the "External Speaker (That puny little thing)" are we listening to 5.1 or something else. When we are listening to the same music via headphones (Hard wire connected), are we listening to 5.1 or something else.
I ask this, because most phones will only play 5.1 with a headset on, but they will state that. Within the last month, I used the Captivate and it stated it only played 5.1 through a headset.
So, what is the quality of the music we are listening to?
Liking the music sound quality (out of the 3.5mm) on your Droid X. Since I use my phone as my primary music playing device, SQ is critical. (I typically listen with super high quality in-ear monitors - Shure SE530;s.) I haven't had a chance yet to A/B with my iPhone 3G (which sounded pretty damn good!) but so far, I'm reasonably impressed with the DX audio.

As much as I'm addicted to the phone, I was a bit disappointed the sound quality wasn't great- comes out a bit 'tinny'. I got myself some Sennheiser CX 500 earphones and it seems now the sound it much much better.
I just wondered what other people's experiences were with the music/sound quality on the Hero...
Also, if it's not too much to ask further, what music player do you use? I've got Rockon and the default player and kinda like them both but neither are perfect...
I listen to a lot of music and podcasts while walking and have noticed that there is a tremendous amount of stutter that happens. Does anyone else get this issue? I wonder if it is the headphone jack or the software that causes this.

Anyways, I did download it and my problem is, there are sound files that are showing up on my music player. Ex: (raw_000~raw_174) Oh and the sound files are in ".ogg" format. I did some research and I tried the ".nomedia" method, but that didn't work.

I wonder if anyone else gets ticked off when you are listening to music, and interrupted with a notification. For those who never used an iphone, the music would fade a little, you'd get a short message tone, then volume would adjust back up.
The music player on the Droid just cuts off, beeps, and goes back to music. Another thing that would be awesome is, when the phones locked and playing music, you hold the home key and the music player pops up so you can forward, or whatever without unlocking, going to app, etc.

As a result I cannot preview any sounds or play any music unless I stream with pandora or something. I have installed another music player app, which is fine for music, but the default player remains the one that locks up, so if I click an audio file to preview it, that app comes up and locks. Is there a fix for this? Can I somehow set another 3rd party player as default?
View 2 Replies View RelatedFor those who don't know yet. The desires back cover has a camera lens protector made by very cheap plastic, that scratches very easily. When this happens, the pictures will have a "glowing", blurry, un sharp look. What I did was removing the piece of transparent plastic "lens protector" on the back cover and then used a small piece of screen protector and sticked it on the lenses. Even without it the chances you actually scratch the lens is virtually none. So now I have a hole in my back cover, but I dramatically improved my picture and video quality.
View 49 Replies View RelatedThe dual LED flash on the EVO works well in moderately lit situations but when shooting in the dark the flash makes images extremely bright and washed out. I was messing around with the camera settings and was able to produce decent results by changing ISO, brightness, etc. but that's a pain. Instead, tape a small strip of plain white paper over the LED flash. It diffuses the flash and makes a huge difference.

I have enabled the image stabilizer function but still whenever i zoom at all it is blurred (not sharp). When taking a picture that didn't involve zooming the image is sharp as you would expect from the camera. Is anyone having this trouble or is it just a dodge phone/camera i have and should go back to my supplier and exchange it?

The voice of the person on the other end is horrible, i previously had a black berry pearl, I checked the website for factors which cause bad call quality. Even though my signal strength is good, charge is full , the call volume is less, the other person is not in an elevator , not using any blue tooth or microphone or not using the speaker mode, the call quality si still bad.Has anybody faced this?.
