I got my phone today, but I'm having an issue with the earpiece speaker rattling. It makes a high pitched buzzing sound basically. Does anyone else have this problem? If I press on the grill covering the speaker it seems to go away. I'm planning on taking it to a Sprint store to compare.
Let me know if you have any thoughts.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy speaker buzzes all the time on my phone (not the speaker phone - it works fine). It's not a network buzz, it's a vibration buzz of the metal or speaker. The center camera is also off-center a little bit, which makes me think something up there is off-center, misglued or loose.
We have two other evos and neither of them buzz on the same call. I called the Sprint Nav Voice Address thing from all 3 phones since that would be the exact same voice and words every time. Only mine buzzes. The other two don't have the camera problem either.
I thought my Palm Pre had excellent sound quality. But the Epic sound is phenomenal. I talk with my girlfriend every night and last night I heard tons of background noise from her 10 year old cordless phone.
I never heard any of it before. I actually thought I might have a defective Epic,but today I made other calls and the Epic is outstanding. Actually every aspect of the phone is outstanding.
I rooted my phone a week or so ago and love it 100 times more than before. However, I use it daily to listen to audio books. Before rooting when I had my earpiece in - if I received a message or call then sound came only through the earpiece. Now it comes through the earpiece and the external speaker on the phone. Suggestions on how to stop it?

Now everything that comes out the speakers sounds like static or like a blown speaker. Sucks cause now I have to take it back to bestbuy. I'm hopping somehow it fixes by its myself.

On my second one the sound was much less apparent but it was still kind of there. Its been about a week now and I believe it is now just as bad as the first one I had. Are these speakers really blown or just really crappy quality?

View 11 Replies View RelatedI have a recently purchased Incredible (about 3 weeks) and within the last week the red earpiece on the phone has developed a very severe buzzing noise. Seems whomever I speak with can hear me fine, I just can't understand them. This hasn't been frequent but it is increasing. One day I had an ear shattering high-pitch noise that pretty much stopped all calls and I had to power down the phone. Could this be hardware or software related?

View 16 Replies View RelatedI had my phone charging at my desk when I suddenly noticed a high pitched whine/chirping coming from somewhere. I was quickly able to pinpoint it -- it's my charger.
I did a Google search and it seems to be a fairly common issue with AC wall chargers.
I'm just curious, is this something I should be concerned about? While it's annoying, I can certainly put up with it until I can have Verizon replace it but I don't want to have to stress about some electrical surge nuking my phone.
Oh, just now the charging finished and as soon as it did (mind you it's still plugged in) the noise ceased.
I'm hoping someone here with some AV knowledge can give me something to try. When I've got my Incredible hooked up to my car stereo via the 3.5mm jack, and have the car charger plugged in, there is a noticeable but intermittent high pitched hiss that comes out of the speakers. If I unplug the car charger it goes away immediately.
I've tried with the volume on the Incredible set at quiet/medium/loud levels and that doesn't seem to make any difference. My guess is that there is resonance from the power cable being picked up by the audio cable, but I've tried moving them around and it doesn't seem to help.
Does anyone else here a faint, high-pitched tone/hum during phonecalls? Its quite annoying, now that I've noticed it. Sometimes it slowly and steadily increases in pitch. Is this a defect?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I make a call there is a short, odd ring-tone that occurs just after I press Dial and before the normal ringing sound begins to indicate the call is going through.
It's about 1/2 second long, can be quite loud sometimes, and is kind of high-pitched....sorry, it's hard to describe. The tone modulates up and down quite fast - da-dum-da-dum-dum (if you can imagine).
I tried re-programming the phone, and also updating roaming, and it's still there every time I make a call. I haven't made any changes to call settings to speak of...never had this on my D1.
When I start my emulator whether in Eclipse or from command prompt, the emulator causes a buzzing sound, and will not exit, I MUST restart my computer. When I add the -noaudio command line option, there is no buzzing, and the emulator will exit perfectly.

I turned off system sounds and I still get the noise. Any ideas on what I can do to get rid of that annoying noise.
View 2 Replies View RelatedFirst off let me begin by saying that I absolutely love the Epic 4G so far. The biggest difference for me coming from an EVO is the beauty of the screen. I work with several techies at my job so I asked to borrow an iPhone 4 and an EVO. I pulled the same web pages on each machine to compare image quality and DAMN! I never realized how bad the screen on the EVO was. Proves that bigger isn't always better. The major shootout was between the EPIC and the iphone. While most everyone liked the EPIC'S screen better, the consensus we all reached is that the iphone has a more realistic picture while the EPIC has the colors more saturated.Now back to my point. With this beautiful screen comes great sacrifice. The battery life on this thing (so far) is terrible! The fantastic screen eats battery like no other! As of typing this on my new phone, I have it unplugged for 33 mins with the battery at 58% with the display using 83% of the battery! I have the screen brightness at about 90% and this feels unacceptable. I've never been one to be conservative with screen brightness levels so I've never seen something drain this hard this fast. Hopefully its just a breaking in thing but current owners, please give me some feedback because I don't know if I can do a year with this issue.

View 5 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone else get bad quality at medium to higher volumes through normal calls (not speakerphone). Anything over two notches from muted gives me a wierd vibrating noise when the other end is talking semi high pitched and consistently. It sounds almost robotic or like paper. I didnt know if this was just my phone, the majority, or all epics suffer from this problem.
