This is my first post and also my first android phone. I was wondering if anyone knows of a better calendar than the stock HTC one that comes on the incredible. The stock calendar only allows for one alert/reminder. I would like something that is simple and easy to use, but allows for more than one alert/reminder.

I have my Incredible set up to synchronize with my work's exchange server. I have a ton of meetings, and I rely upon the phone's 10-minute reminder to play an alert sound before each meeting. This is very handy. What I don't like is that there is no way to set the frequency (i.e., the repeat) for the audible calendar event reminders. It seems like they will just keep going off forever every 5 or 10 minutes, even after the meeting has started, until I hunt my phone down, turn it on, slide the screen lock down, slide the notification area down, select the reminder, and select "Dismiss". And then when my next meeting comes up again, same issue. It was driving me crazy, to the point that I simply turned off the reminder notifications entirely. Is there any way I can tell this phone, "When there is a meeting in ten minutes, please play exactly 3 audible reminder alerts: 10 minutes before, 5 minutes before, and when the meeting time has started.

I haven't changed anything on the phone and today it didn't alert me for two different appointments? Has this happened to you? Also, is there any way to set the time of alert different from the standard 5 minutes before appointment?

Also, is there a spell check on this thing? I saw a setting under 'qwerty' but it requires predictive text to be on, which is a no go for me.

It's kind of annoying how I lost all my ringtones and alerts for texts and stuff. The only option is 'Default Verizon' which annoys the hell out of me. I'd rather not have to download an app to get a simple ringtone for texts and google talk and phone calls. Any way to just get the regular list back that came with the phone?

I would like the phone to alert me approx every 5 minutes that there is an unread text. My phone alerts that I have a new text but I also want it to alert me again if I don't hear the first alert. Is there a way to do this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've read about a possible grounding issue with the some screens, but I haven't read about the issue I'm having. Randomly the touchscreen will stop working... It doesn't matter what I have open it will just stop working. The system is still running, calendar alerts will pop up, and the time will still advance, but I can't do anything with the phone and have to pull the battery and force a reboot to get the screen to respond. I initially thought maybe it was an app, but this has happened with nothing running except the default apps.

Is there a way to get the calendar events to show up on my google calendar? I use calendar pro which I love. I don't know if there is a work around or I am just not knowledgable enough to understand it. A for instance would be that my work email gives me an event or invite...it will show up on the phones calendar but not on my google calendar/events. (my google notification each morning may say "no events scheduled for the day" but phone calendar/calendar pro will show it)

Is there any way to see more than one appointment without opening up the full calendar? You would think if you have multiple appointments in a day that you'd be able to flip through them from the widget, but you can't from what I can tell.

View 35 Replies View RelatedAnyone know how to fix the glitch between incredible's calendar and google's calendar.I've read a lot of the posts online and tried all the suggestions.I can post online at my calendar on google and it will sync with htc's calendar on my incredible.I can even delete the same entry off of my incredible and it will delete off of google's online calendar. The problem I have is nothing posted on the htc calendar syncs with my google calendar online.
View 1 Replies View RelatedToday, I managed to sync. my Lotus Notes calendar with google calendar (after 2 days of turmoil)Then the notes events were displayed on google calendar but 6 hours ahead (like GMT) thought both calendars were set on the same time zone (CST).At this point, the calendar pad widget synced with google calendar and displayed all my lotus notes events 6 hours ahead as in the google calendar.I then changed my google calendar time zone to GMT so that my lotus notes events showed the correct time .But now, the calendar pad widget still shows the old google calendar events that was 6 hours off even after syncing.Can some one please help configure such that my lotus notes , google calendar and calendar pad widget all show the same events at same time (hopefully, maintaining the same time zone settings for all)

(I could do a very large review on it vs. an iphone 3g.However, I have found that my corporate email calendar is not syncing correctly. I am missing events! I have reinstalled the active sync account 3 times now and each time it resyncs different calendar items.I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this or if I am just doing something wrong.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just received a Droid Incredible and I believe it's a great phone, but there is one thing on it that makes it difficult for me to fully enjoy using it. I use the calendar everyday to type meetings, appointments, and reminders. I noticed that when I try to type anything using either calendar (HTC or Google's calendar), the portrait orientation is the only option that is offered. I know that the landscape keyboard is available for everything else (text messages, internet, etc.), but I'm forced to type all of my calendar appointments using the portrait keyboard. This slows down my typing whenever I use the calendar. I tried using the voice to text option to input text, but it is not always accurate. Is there an option under calendars that I did not find that makes it possible for me to type in the landscape orientation or do I need to download an app that will make it possible to type in the calendar using the landscape keyboard?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI came to the Incredible from a Blackberry, and to sync my Google Calendar/work Outlook Calendar/Blackberry Calendar required me to export my Outlook Calendar as a .CSV, delete my Google Calendar, import the .CSV to Google, delete the Blackberry Calendar, and then run Google Sync.On the Incredible, I could not find how to delete the cached calendar until this morning. Just go to Settings, Applications, Manage Applications, Calendar Storage, then click Clear data. Then back out to Settings, select Accounts & sync, then click Sync all.Befor someone suggusts that I can just use the HTC Sync to cut the steps down, I cannot connect the Incredible to my work PC, and even if I could, I cannot run any "unapproved" software, and work won't approve of HTC Sync since they dont see a "business purpose" to it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm a new Droid Eris user and have been using Google Calendar for some time.I have a single calendar set up which is syncing with the Eris.I can successfully add/edit/delete entries from both applications and have them show up just fine on the other side.I have a couple of recurring entries that I've since deleted in Google Calendar but are still showing up on my Eris.The unique thing about both of these entries is that they were meeting requests sent to my Gmail address and accepted from there.They have since been cancelled from the original sender and are now removed from my Google Calendar.My calendar entries are labeled as dark blue, and these two show as light blue.I cannot select them on the Eris to edit or delete them.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a few basics things I was hoping the Calendar app would do for me so that I could stop using my old desktop app (Calendarscope) and officially move to Google calendar with sync on the Incredible.
I mostly use the calendar for events and always include a reminder so that I can keep track of my life. However, when an event reminder pops up on the Incredible I only have two options: Dismiss or Snooze. I can't snooze for 1 hour or 2 hours or 2 days (the way I might in Outlook). It's just "Snooze".
When I press Snooze, it seems that the event gets hidden for 10 minutes and then comes back. When I dismiss it, I no longer get reminded of it but it sits in the notification area.
When I go into the notification area, if I want to dismiss any one event, I cannot seem to do it. All I have options for are "Snooze All" and "Dismiss All". If I long press on any event, I don't get a menu that says "Dismiss this Event" or "Snooze this Event". I don't understand this...Am I missing something totally obvious?
When I go the settings of the calendar program and then into Reminder Settings, I see a checkbox at the end that says "Hide Declined events" but I don't understand how to "decline" an event. I only seem to be able to snooze and dismiss (as mentioned above). Again...am I missing something?
All I want is to be able to easily manage the snoozing and dismissing of individual reminders/events but this doesn't seem to work properly.
Running MIUI v3 and realize there isnt a calendar widget.
I heard good stuff about Pure Calendar widget but i was looking for other opinions before I committed.
What is your calendar of choice, keep in mind I need to find one I can download so stock calendars are out of the question.
I use Astrid so it needs to work with that
On my HTC Incredible, since day 1 and after the updates (including Froyo) I am not able to see the names of events on my calendar in any of the calendar views except the "Today" view.All I see is the rectangle graphics depicting some event is taking place but inside the rectangle the event name is not displayed forcing me to open every event to what it is from the Calendar application.Therefore,I have to resort to using the Agenda widget to scroll through event names by date to get a quick overview. I haven't gotten my hands on someone else's Incredible to verify if this is just the way it is on this phone, but I would venture to guess not.I've used and seen plenty of Blackberry's and used to looking at weekly calendar views and all of the event names and their times/duration laid out graphically (with the event names in the rectangles).
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe stock calendar on my Dinc is acting up. When I add an event and want to edit it at a later date it often will not let me change the date and/or time. It also mysteriously duplicates the event at times. Also when I open my calendar and search for an event it will always show the event as listed the day before the actual event.
