HTC Incredible :: How To Set Setting Number Of Alerts For Calendar Reminder?

Jun 28, 2010

I have my Incredible set up to synchronize with my work's exchange server. I have a ton of meetings, and I rely upon the phone's 10-minute reminder to play an alert sound before each meeting. This is very handy. What I don't like is that there is no way to set the frequency (i.e., the repeat) for the audible calendar event reminders. It seems like they will just keep going off forever every 5 or 10 minutes, even after the meeting has started, until I hunt my phone down, turn it on, slide the screen lock down, slide the notification area down, select the reminder, and select "Dismiss". And then when my next meeting comes up again, same issue. It was driving me crazy, to the point that I simply turned off the reminder notifications entirely. Is there any way I can tell this phone, "When there is a meeting in ten minutes, please play exactly 3 audible reminder alerts: 10 minutes before, 5 minutes before, and when the meeting time has started.

HTC Incredible :: Calendar Default Reminder Time

May 6, 2010

I hate calendar reminders, almost never use them, and I have my Google calendars set up to default to no reminder when I enter a new event. But on the Incredible, I can't figure out how to do that. When I enter a new event there is an option to set the reminder as "none" for that event. But under calendar settings, "none" is not listed as one of the options for the default reminder time - there's nothing above 5 minutes on the drop-down list. Anyone know if there's any way to do this? I just can't believe it's not an option and that I have to manually delete the reminder for every single event I enter into the calendar...

Applications :: Missed Reminder - Notifications After Initial Alerts

Nov 14, 2010

Apps like "missed reminders" are great for doing multiple alerts every X number of minutes if you don't hear the first one. They work on missed calls, gmail, and sms but is there any app that can monitor alerts from other apps like twitter (touiteur) K9 email, facebook which don't do "notifications" after the initial alert. So if that's not heard you don't know till you glance at the screen. Anyone aware of a 3rd party app that does for twitter and facebook alerts what missed reminders does for SMS?

General :: Setting Reminder To Google Saved Locations?

Jun 28, 2013

I love setting location based reminders in Google Now. I can set a reminder for when I get home or the next time I'm at the grocery store. But one thing I can't figure out is how to set a reminder for the next time I'm at a saved location in Google Now. For instance, Google Now knows I go to my parents so it saved the address in Google Now and I renamed it to "My Parents". But I can't set a reminder by saying "next time at I'm at My Parents, remind me...". Is this just a limitation or is there a way to do this?

HTC Desire :: Get Calendar Reminder Only Once

May 16, 2010

When a reminder comes up and I'm not present at phone, the reminder music come over and over again like every 5 minutes. This is really annoying.

Also, if I drive a car I cannot start fumbling around with the phone and the phone alerts me all the way.

I cannot turn off the alert sound, since I use it at work. And I cannot choose silent at profiles as I need to hear if the phone is ringing.

Is there a way to get a calendar reminder only once?

Sprint HTC Hero :: Set Default Reminder In Calendar

Feb 17, 2010

I see lots of threads about getting reminders to go off, but I cannot figure out how to set the default for new appointments to have NO reminder. I can make an appointment and go down to reminder, scroll up to "none," but when I go to set the default reminder in the calendar I am offered 5 minutes and less. I don't want reminders, and I would prefer to have it default to none every time rather than having to go the extra step to set it to none. Is there a way to change the default to no reminder? I have set up my google calendar online to have none, but when I enter an appointment in my calendar it won't allow that.

HTC Hero :: Can't Change Calendar Reminder Sounds

Feb 19, 2010

I recently got an HTC Hero (actually a (UK)T-Mobile G2) which I think is fantastic. The only problem I have is to do with the Calendar Event Alert sound. T-Mobile supply it with this noise that is awful - it sounds like someone scraping their fingernails down a blackboard. It's horrid!

I've tried changing it by going into the Calendar then doing Menu -> Settinggs -> Reminders -> Reminder sounds and then selecting a different sounds but it's no use. I even tried removing and re-adding the Exchange account but I can't get it to stop playing that awful noise!

General :: Samsung Galaxy S3 Calendar Don't Want A Reminder

Jan 27, 2013

I am looking to pick up a Samsung Galaxy S3 or Galaxy Note II, but I was playing around with one at the store and when I entered an event in the Samsung calendar, clicked on Notifications (or REMINDERS), there was no option to select NO REMINDER. There are some things I don't want to receive a reminder for, I just want it on my calendar. Am I missing something, or is everything I enter in the Samsung calendar and subsequently syncing with my Google Calendar going to have a notification?

I already hate that I can't default to no notification on the standard Google Calendar, but would be willing to downgrade to it on the Samsung Galaxy S3 or NoteII as it at least lets me set NO REMINDER.

I would love to replace my original HTC Evo in the next couple of months, but I have this concern.

Android :: Full Featured Calendar / Reminder / Organizer / Whatever App

Jan 17, 2010

I've recently got my hands on HTC Hero which happens to be my first smart phone ever (I was using the ancient Siemens M65 for a long time before that). And I'm currently trying to find a way to at least replicate (I'm not hoping for improving anymore) the organizer functionality I had on my Siemens M65.I've tried Googling, I've downloaded lots of various suggested apps, but I'm still coming up short. So I'll try listing things that I'd *really* like to have in an organizer app and perhaps someone could point me in the right direction.Of note is that I use organizer simply as a reminder engine. I don't plan my days on it, so I could care less for 'event duration', 'finding free time', and such functionality. I just want to have good reminder functionality.Features I'm looking for:

* Selectable snooze period when reminder goes off -- e.g. on my old Siemens I could choose between 5/15/60 minutes and 1 day. This seems to be sorely lacking in most (all?) applications I've checked.

* Easily selectable reminder date & time. Lots of applications seem to use that date/time picker that only has + and - buttons for choosing month/date/hour/minute -- this seems to border on unusable for me. Although if application is otherwise perfect, I can overlook that

* Notification (via widget or notification area or some such) when I have upcoming reminders today (or maybe today and tomorrow similar to HTC's small calendar widget). Smooth Calendar seems to be a good choice for standard Calendar app, but Calendar app itself is not ideal

* List of all reminders I have scheduled. This is something that seems to be absent from default Calendar app.

* Notification about reminders I've missed. Very desirable something that can be seen without waking up a phone (I think it is not impossible for application to blink one of the LEDs in case there's missed reminder). Definitely something that can be seem on home screen. I didn't test default Calendar app extensively in this respect, but it seems to do not display anything at all if you have missed reminder (although it seems to repeat the alarm after 5 minutes or so).

* Repeatable reminders would be nice to have, but it is probably least important item for me.

HTC Desire :: Volume Settings Only For Message / Calendar Reminder

Jun 12, 2010

Does anyone know of a way to increase the message/calendar reminder volume whilst decreasing the ringer volume? The ringer currently deafens me, but if I turn it down I can't hear the calendar reminder or message notification. Also, is it just me or is the rocker switch for the volume control too easily accessible? I seem to turn it up, down, sideways (!) while trying to do other things on the Desire. I have looked in the settings for calendar, but can't find a volume setting that isn't connected to the ringtone.

General :: Calendar Event Reminder - Repeat After Certain Minutes

Jun 20, 2012

When I program a event in the calendar, with reminder (for example 15 minutes before event), the phone ring at the correct time. In notification bar, an icon appear and when I "click" on it, I can choice "ignore" or "later" (i'm not sure of the translation, because my ROM is in french).

But the problem is that's impossible to choice the time for the next alarm. If I click on "later", the phone re-ring 5 minutes later.

Is it possible to modify something to permit to choice the time for the next alarm ? (in system files, build.prop or other place) ?

That works in widows mobile 6.5: when reminder occurs, a menu permit to repeat in 1, 5, 10, 15, 30 minutes or more.

If possible, I prefer not install another calendar application, but if base calendar application cannot be modified to have this option, could you give me name of application which permit it ?
