So I've been counting on the alerts from the calendar to warn me prior to meetings (not synced to Outlook- system won't allow). I haven't changed anything on the phone and today it didn't alert me for two different appointments? Has this happened to you? Also, is there any way to set the time of alert different from the standard 5 minutes before appointment?

it looks like its an Android bug, but my alarm & my calendar alerts are not working correctly, as well as CalWidget. My Google Cal & the Cal on the phone are correct. I had to reboot to get the time updated to what it should be today.

Several people have mentioned dumping the standard SMS app and going with 3rd party. I decided to download ChompSMS and Handcent to try out. So far, I think I like Handcent the most, but everytime I get a message, all three apps fire off a notification.I have uninstalled ChompSMS, but I still get both the Eris app and Handcent notifications. What is the best was to disable the Eris app? I tried killing everything with ATM, but it just comes back whenever a message comes in.

It still plays a sound AND vibrates, and that's driving me nuts. 2) Is there a way for the "native" alert sound management software to recognize imported files for alerts? I've used a downloaded program that will allow me to pick song files, but it's use of them is inconsistent, even though when I go to the setting, it still has the file I chose listed.

Idealy it would allow each account to be controlled seperately. Example would be to turn off work accounts early evening and leave personal and text on until later.
Is there a way to make the vibration stronger. I'm used to my Curve where the vibration was strong. But the eris is very weak, most of the time when it's in the case on my belt I miss calls because I can't feel it.
View 6 Replies View RelatedJust wondering, on 1.5, the Ringer/Alerts volume was locked together so however loud the Ringer volume was, the notification volume would be the same. Since upgrading to 2.1 OTA, they are no longer linked together. Is there any way I can link them back together so they are they same volume without having to individually change each one? It's kind of annoying when I set my Ringer volume to low, and all of the sudden I get a text and it's almost 3 times as loud.

I have a ton of meetings, and I rely upon the phone's 10-minute reminder to play an alert sound before each meeting. This is very handy. What I don't like is that there is no way to set the frequency (i.e., the repeat) for the audible calendar event reminders. It seems like they will just keep going off forever every 5 or 10 minutes, even after the meeting has started, until I hunt my phone down, turn it on, slide the screen lock down, slide the notification area down, select the reminder, and select "Dismiss". And then when my next meeting comes up again, same issue. It was driving me crazy, to the point that I simply turned off the reminder notifications entirely. Is there any way I can tell this phone, "When there is a meeting in ten minutes, please play exactly 3 audible reminder alerts: 10 minutes before, 5 minutes before, and when the meeting time has started.

Because when I get a new text, Hand cent will post an icon in the notification panel and there will always be another notification icon next to it, I think it is the stock app doing that. Email invite messages from Outlook for meetings do not show the calendar detail. Specifically, I can not see the date and time of the meeting invitations. I can perform actions to "Accept", "Decline", or Tentative" the meeting invitation. Unfortunately, there isn't any meeting detail so I don't know when the meeting is scheduled.
This is very frustrating and makes the Samsung Stratosphere or possibly the Android platform not fit for corporate environments. If I can not get this to work I will be switching to an iPhone and I will recommend to my entire corporate enterprise that we avoid Android based Smart Devices.
The Black Berry BEZ environment also provided information on meeting conflicts when you are sent a meeting invitation.
I come from an original EnV. If it had this feature, it was lost to me, so just go with it and share in my excitement.
With the Eris, it is SUPER easy to put someone on hold and then call another person. There is a little phone icon on the bottom right of the dialer, with a plus logo on it. you click that and you can add to your call, which puts one person on hold (it shows you their number on hold) and lets you talk to the other person.
I shouldn't have done it. before *228 it was 5% now it is 100% The settinh/Applications/Dev/Stay awake is unchecked.

Have not had a chance to play with it much at all since work's been so crazy.But I have a couple questions if you all would not mind answering or linking me to answers!What's this "Awake" time I keep hearing about? What's a good percentage? Mine, for the most part seems to be hovering around 23%-28%. I'm not really running any apps (have not set up Facebook yet). Good or bad?
Also, when receiving text messages from other Verizon users they and I keep getting errors saying they can't be over 160 characters? Or that certain media objects weren't included? Quite frustrating!?
I've had a lot of success getting my random questions about my phone answered on here before, so I thought I would try again. I love my eris as a mini computer, use it for all my apps and emails and everything and it works great. Unfortunately, when it comes to working as a telephone, it sucks. It takes between five and twenty seconds after I click on a contact to place a call, and then when a call is ended or lost the screen either shows black for a while or says "HTC" and then reboots. This is particularly annoying when I lose a call and just want to call someone back, but I have to wait about 30 seconds before my phone even shows me my home screen again. Once I'm on a call its usually fine, but getting the phone screen to load and place calls is super slow. I'm running Task Panel on it, but I don't have it auto-killing anything that HTC makes or that is related to phone calls.

I don't know what the difference is, or if they should differ. I'm getting good battery life, but i don't understand why these two are the same. Anyone have an answer? Way to fix it?

Weatherbug Elite (Updating every hour) Gmail Mail (Exchange - as email arrives) But the phone was pretty much on the charger from 10pm to 6am so not sure what is causing it to be awake.. so out of the 19 hours Up Time - 8 of them I was sleeping.

Does any one else have this issue? Is there a setting I'm missing? When I click on the clock it brings me to World Clock. The Current time is three hours behind, the Home time and New York time are both correct.

When I set up an event for the same day the eris will alert me and put a calendar in my status bar. But if I set up an event for the next day it will alert me but no calendar in the status bar.
