HTC Incredible :: Turn Off Multiple Alerts?
May 25, 2010Does any one know how to turn off multiple alerts? When I get a new email I get alerts every 5 minutes until I open it. I only want to get the first one.

Android :: App To Turn Alerts On And Off By Time Of Day?
Jan 21, 2010Is there an app out there that turns alerts or notifications off by time of day and even by day of week? I like to leave my phone on in case of an emergency call but I would like to silence the email and text alerts overnight.
Idealy it would allow each account to be controlled seperately. Example would be to turn off work accounts early evening and leave personal and text on until later.

Jan 26, 2010I like the Weather Channel App, but the alerts are driving me crazy.Maybe I just live in a volatile area, but sheesh it seems like the app is constantly alerting me to heavy rain, then high winds, then this, then that. Jan 17, 2010I have been doing some reading about power conservation on the Eris, to extend battery time. Several people have mentioned dumping the standard SMS app and going with 3rd party. I decided to download ChompSMS and Handcent to try out. So far, I think I like Handcent the most, but everytime I get a message, all three apps fire off a notification.I have uninstalled ChompSMS, but I still get both the Eris app and Handcent notifications. What is the best was to disable the Eris app? I tried killing everything with ATM, but it just comes back whenever a message comes in.

Jun 28, 2010I have my Incredible set up to synchronize with my work's exchange server. I have a ton of meetings, and I rely upon the phone's 10-minute reminder to play an alert sound before each meeting. This is very handy. What I don't like is that there is no way to set the frequency (i.e., the repeat) for the audible calendar event reminders. It seems like they will just keep going off forever every 5 or 10 minutes, even after the meeting has started, until I hunt my phone down, turn it on, slide the screen lock down, slide the notification area down, select the reminder, and select "Dismiss". And then when my next meeting comes up again, same issue. It was driving me crazy, to the point that I simply turned off the reminder notifications entirely. Is there any way I can tell this phone, "When there is a meeting in ten minutes, please play exactly 3 audible reminder alerts: 10 minutes before, 5 minutes before, and when the meeting time has started.

Apr 30, 2010I figured out how to add custom ringtones for alerts and calls but I cant for the life of me figure out how to set one for text, a different one for gmail, a different one exchange and so on. any ideas? Also, is there a spell check on this thing? I saw a setting under 'qwerty' but it requires predictive text to be on, which is a no go for me.

Aug 4, 2010I updated to the newest leak version last night successfully, and it's the first time I've rooted. It's kind of annoying how I lost all my ringtones and alerts for texts and stuff. The only option is 'Default Verizon' which annoys the hell out of me. I'd rather not have to download an app to get a simple ringtone for texts and google talk and phone calls. Any way to just get the regular list back that came with the phone?

May 21, 2010I've read about a possible grounding issue with the some screens, but I haven't read about the issue I'm having. Randomly the touchscreen will stop working... It doesn't matter what I have open it will just stop working. The system is still running, calendar alerts will pop up, and the time will still advance, but I can't do anything with the phone and have to pull the battery and force a reboot to get the screen to respond. I initially thought maybe it was an app, but this has happened with nothing running except the default apps.

Aug 28, 2010We'll this is a deal breaker for me, after being pretty happy with the RUU update and the speed improvement it brought to the stock music player.When using the turn by turn navigation, every time the voice comes in the player puts itself on pause.After the instruction is over it remains paused instead of resuming.Then I have to manually hit play again to resume playback.This is a big deal while driving since I don't want to be fidgeting with my phone every couple seconds.This was not an issue with 2.1 , since as soon as the turn by turn instruction was gone the music would automatically resume.

Dec 2, 2013I woke up today to my phone being off, I tried turning it on, and it said low battery - I was able to use it for 10 seconds and then it died. So I tried charging it. It has been "charging" for two hours and now refuses to turn on. But now it constantly buzzes every two seconds. I have 3 chargers, so in case the one I was using was broken, I tried the others, same thing. What is going on?
Now before you say that THIS IS THE REASON! My phone was on the sofa and fell into my dog's water bowl, the second it fell I took it out and checked everything. The inside didn't even have a single drop in it. And the little cotton indicator hasn't changed colour. I have small hopes that this can be repaired.
I am just PRAYING that this isn't because of the water. I am always careful and handle my phones well. But the rare times they slip, they fall in the smallest spaces with water in them. Example, my past phone was tipped from the nightstand and fell perfectly into a cup of water that was on the floor, that was JUST big enough to fit the phone. Same thing with the water bowl, out of ALL the spaces my phone could fall on the floor, it falls right into a tiny space of water...

Nov 29, 2010in Virtuous Rom 3.1 the Google Maps turn-by-turn navigation voice doesn't work...instead of speaking the directions, the voice rambles on about XML versions and a random website in a slow-motion voice. I'm shocked that I can't find any information at all about this on XDA or here.Does this happen to anyone else who uses Virtuous Rom 3.1? I tried to contact RMK via XDA PM but he hasn't responded yet, sent last night. I would really like a fix for this, Google maps navigation is fantastic.

May 5, 2010I sent a text message to a bunch of my wife and a few friends, and my wife said she saw all of the recipients of the text message i sent in her msg. She has the BB Curve.
I'm thinking that the DINC is responsible for that, and not her BB. Is there anyway to change that?
It really doesn't impact me much, but it's a bit impersonal at times. For someone like Tiger Woods, I can see that sorta being an issue.

May 23, 2010When I receive a new email, I get multiple notification icons (I believe one for the 'messages' folder and another for the 'email' folder, etc.) With my BB I got one notification for 'messages' and when the message was tagged as read in that overall folder, it was tagged read in the originating folder as well. I don't want to acknowledge the same message multiple times.love this phone and all it does. Leaps and bounds better than my BB in speed, style, and functionality.

Nov 16, 2010I've done some googling, and found plenty of people with my issue, but mine can't seem to be resolved like everyone else's. I've been getting two notifications for every txt I get, one's icon is a Letter, the other's is a Smiley Face. I only use the built-in Messages application that came with the phone, its all I've ever used. If I go into Messages, and disable it from making any notifications, when I get a txt, a tone will still play and I still get the Smiley Face notification. Some people have linked this to Beautiful Widgets Pack 2, and I've seen numerous threads where people uninstall it, and it fixes the issue. I installed Beautiful Widgets Pack 2 last week, didn't like it, and uninstalled it. And yet I still have this issue! I even tried installing it again and then uninstalling it again, then rebooted, and it still pops up a notification with that Smiley Face!

I installed Handcent and SMS Popup and every time I get a text, I get a popup from handcent and a popup from the stock messaging app. I tried everything that was said to fix the problem and all that did was stop the notifications from the stock app from coming up in the status bar. I'm still getting a popup from both apps and would like to just have handcent show up.
