Is there a better calendar app or an add on to improve the standard app? I am looking for a away to improve the alerts for upcomng meetings and events. Right now I can only send myself an email or sms, how do i get calendar to tap into the alarm functions on the phone?

Is there a way of setting a calendar reminder so that it keeps playing until you turn it off? (like an alarm i mean).

I haven't changed anything on the phone and today it didn't alert me for two different appointments? Has this happened to you? Also, is there any way to set the time of alert different from the standard 5 minutes before appointment?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have my Incredible set up to synchronize with my work's exchange server. I have a ton of meetings, and I rely upon the phone's 10-minute reminder to play an alert sound before each meeting. This is very handy. What I don't like is that there is no way to set the frequency (i.e., the repeat) for the audible calendar event reminders. It seems like they will just keep going off forever every 5 or 10 minutes, even after the meeting has started, until I hunt my phone down, turn it on, slide the screen lock down, slide the notification area down, select the reminder, and select "Dismiss". And then when my next meeting comes up again, same issue. It was driving me crazy, to the point that I simply turned off the reminder notifications entirely. Is there any way I can tell this phone, "When there is a meeting in ten minutes, please play exactly 3 audible reminder alerts: 10 minutes before, 5 minutes before, and when the meeting time has started.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm a new Droid Eris user and have been using Google Calendar for some time.I have a single calendar set up which is syncing with the Eris.I can successfully add/edit/delete entries from both applications and have them show up just fine on the other side.I have a couple of recurring entries that I've since deleted in Google Calendar but are still showing up on my Eris.The unique thing about both of these entries is that they were meeting requests sent to my Gmail address and accepted from there.They have since been cancelled from the original sender and are now removed from my Google Calendar.My calendar entries are labeled as dark blue, and these two show as light blue.I cannot select them on the Eris to edit or delete them.

I am trying to get an alert when I get to my home. But, it looks like I am not receiving the message. Googled around quite a bit, but to no avail. I am able to get the LocationListener to display my current location. But, proximityAlerts are not working. The problem might be with the setting up and receiving the broadcast messages.

I am coming from BB Storm 2 where i could have every email, sms, mms, whatever from any contact display a different LED light/pattern and make a different noise depending on who it is coming from. Here on my Droid X i have one alert noise, for EVERYTHING. And no LED tweaking.
I DL'd Blink...which was useless, didn't display 3/4 of the colors it was supposed to do. Uninstalled. I had heard HandcentSMS lets you customize stuff...kinda. I could finally make my SMS make a differnt noise then any other alert. But still can't customize it per person/sender. I could tweak the LED thankfully. But this only affects SMS. Not email. And it too didn't display all the colors it had listed
Ringdroid lets me make every caller have a differnt ringtone (cool), and i can save alerts, but not custom per person. Are there any apps out there that let me customize alerts for email/mms/sms and so forth. So i can have it blink the LED a differnt color from certain people and make a noise when said email, mms, sms is from certain people? Or am i just SOL and need to deal with the fact that i can't do that on a Droid?
In so many ways this phone is lightyears ahead of my Storm 2...but in so many other ways it is far more basic and simplistic in many things and doesn't allow the customization.
I have stopped receiving email and message alerts. No sound, no vibrate, no icon on the status bar at the top of the phone, no blinking green light when the screen is off. It is as if the phone does not know I have email or messages.

I manage to create the alert but it never gets fired, I'm only trying in the emulator for now and donīt know if I need some extra code to trigger the alerts. I've read somewhere that the GPS provider to disabled so the network provider can be used in order to trigger the alerts on the emulator.

Idealy it would allow each account to be controlled seperately. Example would be to turn off work accounts early evening and leave personal and text on until later.

So this week there's a new alert every hour or two. I know it's raining and I know it's windy. I have shared my second calendar with my primary and my appointments for both show up fine online, and in my DX calendar list, it says my second calendar is on there, but nothing is showing up. I've tried adding new appointments both on device and computer, but they don't sync for that calendar.
Am I missing something? Or does anyone know of a calendar app that will sync with a second gmail calendar?
Problem: Appointments / events created on my LG Optimus G were not syncing to desktop Google Calendar. No problem with appointments / events created on desktop syncing down to phone. Problem Identification: Default calendar when creating appointment / event on phone was calendar called "Phone". There is no calendar on desktop called "Phone". Solution: Pick different calendar when creating an appointment / event on your phone.

And I configure the username and pwd from DevTools->Google Service Login successfully. Now I can start the Calendar app successfully, with the month view/week view/etc. But I don't know how to sync the calendars or events with Google Calendar service.
