This may be a dumb question but, If I move an app to the sd card through froyo like say Homerun Baseball 3D, and then do a factory data reset, will I have to reinstall the game and lose all my achievements or will it be on the SD card and untouched?

I'm just looking for a froyo rom in which you can turn sense on/off if you want. Maybe it's more complicated than I'm thinking, maybe it's not...and it might even be available. I just haven't seen anything that explicitly says a rom can do it. Any tips?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am not sure if this has already discussed, but I couldn't find the thread with the same issue, so I am posting this. This may be a bug, or may be a feature that is incomplete. I am using the Droid Incredible with OTA'ed froyo 2.2, with factory resetted. My wife's Droid Incredible with OTA'ed froyo 2.2 without resetted has exactly the same issue. This seems to happen from fundamental android OS layer directly, as it appears on both launchpro and Sense UI.
I don't remember if the phone showed the same option with OS 2.1, but after update, I noticed the strange second option has been appeared with some of my contacts. I tried to un-link those contacts (i.e. phone contacts, google contacts or twitter contacts, etc) to figure out which part is making this problem with no success. Does anybody have the same issue? When I click the problematic option icon, the pop-up window comes offering me a choice of action with different applications.
So I was thinking about the fact that Verizon changed the phone I purchased by adding apps with the froyo update. Can you deny the update to froyo? Not that I know of without getting the popup every half an hour. I purchased this phone outright when it came out and want to get a droid 2 and was thinking about ways the exchange this phone. I guess what I am trying to say is; can I go to Verizon and say that they either need to change my phone back to the purchased item or take a return and give me a refund?I am ASSUMING this and wanted to know if anyone knows of any laws about this?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI still have some apps and my phone and wifi seem to be working fine.I don't have Market, Rom Manager, Titanium (but I DO have SuperUser). When I USB my phone to PC - the PC doesn't see either the phone pr the card although I haven't reinstalled HTC Sync). At this point, I don't really even know if I'm rooted or have busybox.I'm really puzzled as to what I should do next:I don't know whether to do a phone restore from Settings or, perhaps from Recovery? Or whether to find a RUU (Is there one with the updated radio or with Froyo? Or, I guess I could wait for the OTA - but that's a wimped out way out and it might not even work at this point. Or, do I want to try reinstalling Rom Manager and do the permission fix - then reflash one of the Froyo Roms. But would that get me Market back? In all cases I'm gonna have to reinstall most of my apps since most resided (at least partially) on the dead sd. Fortunately appbrain has a record of all my apps. - but, from what I understand, there's no way to install the Market, except via HTC/Google/Verizon.

The option to allow the phone to backup automatically to SD card in Settings > Privacy have gone, does anyone know where the setting is now or even if a backup option is even available in froyo 2.2, because i can't find it anywhere even after a factory reset.
View 46 Replies View RelatedI have recently bought QMobile A8 phone which in "about phone" says ics 4.0.4 and has the notification swipe to close and long press home key and swipe to close background apps but in settings-> apps it does not show "all" button neither there is a way to disable apps. I installed advanced task killer and could find the disable button in few apps by force stop detail option in advanced task killer and disabled maps and few other. Now where to find them since I don't have the "all" button in settings-> apps where at the bottom there are disabled apps in my other android devices.

In that regard the RIM OS works much better. I knew exactly what was running and what I wanted to close.
It is particularly annoying with the internet app. One has to navigate backwards through as many sites visited for the stupid thing to finally close.
A coworker in the office has a Droid 1 and his google apps (we just switched to the standard edition for work) calendar syncs.
When I add my google apps I don't even have Calendar as an option. Is this missing from the Droid X or is it a 2.1 thing?
I have it loaded, ti backup has grayed out options to move to sd....Is there another way? Manage apps has no option to move apps to sd?

However, I noticed there is no option to take widescreen photos (takes up the whole screen of the Droid X) like the stock Camera app. I can take a photo with Camera first, then import it in the other app, but that's just more work. View 2 Replies View RelatedOk so I rooted my phone and installed SuperUser and Titanium Backup (paid version). My main reason was to free up some space.I clear the cache almost daily, am using just a few apps and have deleted anything that would actually make the phone any fun (like cool widgets or useful yet non-basic apps. I have no games on it. I have googled "how to move apps to SD with Titanium Backup" dozens of times in the past month and read that it's under "batch options" a thousand times. However, for the life of me I can NOT see an option under the 4th section "Move/Integrate" for anything remotely related to MOVING APPS TO SD. The only thing it shows on that category is "Integrate updates of system apps into ROM".
I have a huge external SD plugged in where ALL my pictures, screenshots, downloads, music and videos are stored. The external SD is not even half full. Yet, my 4.44GB internal memory is filled nearly to capacity with only 274MB free.
I constantly get the STORAGE SPACE RUNNING LOW message and my available space is invariably under 380MB.
WHAT CAN I DO??? I'm about to give up on Android alltogether.
I'm running Jelly Bean 4.1.2 and the main apps I'm using which I think take up the most space are GMail, Whatsapp, Google Maps, Androind Weather and Camera360.
I recently upgraded from an Eris to the Incredible.. when the 2.1 came down OTA for the Eris I could then go into my people, click on their picture which then brought up a menu with photos that represented actions (call, text, email, etc.) One of these pictures was a Facebook icon. This brought me right to that persons Facebook profile using the Facebook for Android widget. Now that I have the Incredible, this Facebook icon is not there. What's up with that? I mean I can click on their name, then "go to Facebook profile" but this isn't the same I can only then access their info and/or wall, none of their photos, etc. This phone makes me actually have to go into the Facebook for Android widget itself then search friends and then get to someone's profile. I miss the icon option on my Eris, but they both run 2.1, shouldn't the Incredible have this option too?

There isn't an SMS option above the in box button either.Although I don't expect it to be there until I can change the settings.This is the main reason I wanted Google voice.

View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen I connect my DINC via USB to my computer, the computer does not recognize my phone, there is no option for charge or disk drive like there used to be, it just starts charging, but the USB icon which used to appear in the task bar does not appear. I also have the setting set to "ask me every time I connect" on my phone, I have played around with this setting to no avail. The phone also does not appear in My Computer. I have changed USB ports and cables, and my computer recognizes every other device I have, so it is only a problem with recognizing my phone.

I went to MarketPlace and searched for "Amazon" but could not find any Amazon MP3 App. I tried to purchase an album from amazon.com, but it says I need to install an "Amazon MP3 downloader" to purchase albums and it does not give me an option to download a version for the Android OS (however, it asks me to select one of 4 linux distributions). The other option I have is to buy and download individual songs from amazon.com, but I don't want that. I want to download entire albums. What is the best option I have?
