After updating, do you have to reinstall app to move them to sd via an install option like 1) internal memory 2) for sd card? Or, after update, can you just move apps without reinstalling?

Since I have insalled Froyo (frf50) I have slowly noticed apps starting to receive this feature I do not know of a complete list or even attempted one. As far as I am aware there is no way for the market to auto install to the sd, so unless the developer lets you know in the changelog (which doesn't always happen) its a manual process finding them through the manage applications list. I'm running android 2.2 froyo. I have installed Facebook and twitter on my phone and when I try to move them to the SD card I can't. To do this I'm using avast! Mobile security and it has an option to do so. The button "move to SD card" is blacked out for Facebook, twitter and steam. Is there anyway I can get these on my SD card? I have very little internal memory so every megabite counts.

Surprise surprise, it doesn't appear that I have this option on ANY of the 15 or so apps I've downloaded.I've read that developers need to unlock this option when they create their app - I guess most of the apps available today just don't support it? View 16 Replies View RelatedJust got my Desire and I am so happy to see how much faster it is compare with the Legend, and I specially like the addition of the wifi hotspot this is really a must have app nowadays. I give the phone 4 out of 5 stars, due to un-closeable apps and unable to attach a hand strap this is really stupid design.I find some apps can't be closed even with task manager, one of them is the build in FM radio, it won't close even when I unplug the earphone, there is indeed a shutdown button on the app, but click on it has no function, if I force it close with task manager another instance of it will start instead. There are many apps auto start by default with no reason, I use task manager to shut them down to save the resources. IMHO, by the time Android has become stable the Desire will be retired and excluded from the update

Not that I know of without getting the popup every half an hour. I purchased this phone outright when it came out and want to get a droid 2 and was thinking about ways the exchange this phone. View 6 Replies View RelatedAlright so I just downloaded the Froyo OTA update.I don't want to do anything too crazy with my phone, however there are a couple of things I would like to change.
1. Delete HTC lock screen, I read if you delete the htclockscreen.apk it will just use the standard "vanilla" froyo one
2. Delete all of the bloatware apps (Sprint Nav, TV, Zone, Nascar, Football, etc)
3. Wifi Tether
Will I be able to do this with just root or do I need a custom ROM? I have read through XDA and on here but I am in over my head. I'm used to jailbreaking iPhones in one step or just installing Preware.I really don't want to have to reset my phone since I have finally got it set up and looking the way I like.Can someone point me in the direction of what I need to do (unrevoked?) to enable the three things I listed? Because I am lost with rooting and unlocking nand and custom ROMs and kernels.Is it even possible to root the OTA right now, or do I need to wait?
Do I have to turn on auto update individually for every app or is there a master setting I can change?

Im not rooted, using the RC, no ATK running or anything. Kinda curious if this could be part of whats causing battery issues? Yes its a long shot I know, but is anyone aware of this and/or is it possible to disable?
*Yes I seen Froyo was supposed to handle closing app differently, more so looking for a way to disable this, and if need be manually use an ATK type program as needed to get my battery life back to anything near what it was.

It is a Motorola Flipside (I am on a budget and I need a physical keyboard; hopefully, if you didn't hate me for posting a new thread you will not hate me for buying a Flipside). The phone comes with Eclair, but can be upgraded to Froyo. When I do this, I know that I will have less than 100MB of free space (could be as little as 60MB) on the internal hard drive, but I am not sure how much less, and I don't want to mess around with moving too much bloatware or rooting. In order to get the apps that I have preselected to all fit, I'm going to need to get them in a certain order. I should get the ones that I can move to SD first, and then get the ones that are not able to be moved.
I have heard that App 2 SD is a good program, although Froyo can probably do it on its own. Do I need App 2 SD?
I am wondering which of the following large-ish apps can be moved so that I don't need to install apps only to be forced to delete them because they cannot be moved:
1. Battleheart
2. Battleloot
3. Modern Conflict
4. Plague, Inc.
Has anyone noticed that there are lots of apps that are autostarting with the new froyo update. I have to constantly open Advanced task Killer to kill these apps. Things like, skype, google search, and contacts for example. Any way to keep these from autostarting every 5 seconds... its like they start immediately after I kill them.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI still have some apps and my phone and wifi seem to be working fine.I don't have Market, Rom Manager, Titanium (but I DO have SuperUser). When I USB my phone to PC - the PC doesn't see either the phone pr the card although I haven't reinstalled HTC Sync). At this point, I don't really even know if I'm rooted or have busybox.I'm really puzzled as to what I should do next:I don't know whether to do a phone restore from Settings or, perhaps from Recovery? Or whether to find a RUU (Is there one with the updated radio or with Froyo? Or, I guess I could wait for the OTA - but that's a wimped out way out and it might not even work at this point. Or, do I want to try reinstalling Rom Manager and do the permission fix - then reflash one of the Froyo Roms. But would that get me Market back? In all cases I'm gonna have to reinstall most of my apps since most resided (at least partially) on the dead sd. Fortunately appbrain has a record of all my apps. - but, from what I understand, there's no way to install the Market, except via HTC/Google/Verizon.
