HTC Incredible :: Unable To Connect Phone To Pc - No Charging Option
Nov 19, 2010
When I connect my DINC via USB to my computer, the computer does not recognize my phone, there is no option for charge or disk drive like there used to be, it just starts charging, but the USB icon which used to appear in the task bar does not appear. I also have the setting set to "ask me every time I connect" on my phone, I have played around with this setting to no avail. The phone also does not appear in My Computer. I have changed USB ports and cables, and my computer recognizes every other device I have, so it is only a problem with recognizing my phone.

On friday I am going to be getting my droid in another city and driving home, roughly 2 hours. Should I plug it in and let it charge all the way home? Can I use it? Should I leave it off and charge it when I get home for the night?

I have had this problem ever since I received my preordered Dinc. I can successfully connect to the internet via wifi anywhere but at my place of employment (very frustrating). The Dinc sees and connects to the wifi but when I open the browser the following pop up window appears: Security warning
There are problems with the security certificate for this site. This certificate is not from a trusted authority? I then have a choice to continue, view certificate, or cancel. When I view the certificate it states the organization, The Go Daddy Group Inc, unit, Go Daddy Class 2 Certification Authority and validity:.................

I have a stock inc and for some reason it won't connect to my home WiFi network. It will connect to other wifi networks. I turned off WEP just to take that variable out of it. No idea what the problem is. I have also hard reset it.

I tried to test my application on my android phone, but the it can't be able to detect the device compatibility. The debug mode on phone is enabled.
My phone: Motorola.
My ubuntu: 10.04.
IDE: Eclipse.
I even tried to add the following line:
SUBSYSTEMS==husbh, ATTRS{idVendor}==h22b8, ATTRS{idProduct} ==h41dbh, MODE=h0600"
to my /etc/udev/rules.d/90-android.rules.
But every time I tried to run the application, the device can't be detectable.

Today I decided to install the tweaked V3 W/Take 5. Started to update rom and couldn't get phone to connect. It would say debugging was working but nothing in ADB > Devices. Long story short A few hours of fiddling Took out SD card and it started working. Formatted the card Flashed rom. Worked a few times and now nothing. Every now and then when i reboot the phone it will work. It only works for 20 minutes or so and then stops. I get the USB Connected Prompt and when I press it (waiting for the Mount window) It goes back to nothing.ectly.

My HTC EVO 4G LTE is having a major problem. When connected to my home modem it will not connect to the internet at all. When I disconnect wifi in the settings the phone will crawl along at Sprint 3G speeds. Laptops, tvs, chromecast and Roku are all working properly from the same modem. I've reset the modem, restarted the phone numerous times, just updated the phone (was happening before and after the update) and still no luck. I've scoured the internet looking for answers but nothing so far.

I set up the option to keep the display on while charging. That's before I realized what a drain the display is on the battery. Now that I want to turn it off, I can't find it.

How can I get my phone to charge while using my GPS? I have it attached to a charger in my vehicle. As soon as I use the GPS navigation, the phone quits charging even when it is plugged into the utility outlet. Once I exit navigation charging resumes.

I used my Droid Incredible as a GPS yesterday while having it connected to a charger. After an hour or so, I realized that the battery was almost drained. I checked the charger to make sure that it was plugged into the utility plug. Then as soon as I exited the GPS on my phone it began to charge. How can I keep the phone charging while using my GPS?

I was charging my incredible today and after a few hours I noticed the red led light blinking. Thinking it was a missed call I picked it up and noticed it was really hot! I have battery snap app and when I checked the status it said the battery was overheating. I had it plugged into the wall charger that came with the phone. Is this normal? It wasn't charging that long...maybe 4 or 5 hours. I'm worried about leaving my phone on the charger at night time (which is usually when I charge my phones). Does the standard charger not have one of those chips that keeps the battery from over charging? Also, when I took the phone off the charger after noticing it was hot, the battery widget said it dropped from 100% to about 90% after only 10 min. Did I screw up my battery? If so, please tell me it's covered under the insurance.

Only charging from a USB from computer, but not off wall power cord. Anyone have an idea why this would be happening?
Also, if I turn the phone off and plug it in the wall power cord, the phone will turn on Automatically, but not charge.

As above, shouldnt this be a feature of Android. The reason all Android phones have poor battery life is as a result of that.Couldnt someone make an app that disconnects the data connection when not being used?Im really not sure why Android does have an option of sync regularity too? Perhaps an app idea if possible?

I'm not sure if this is worth complaining about but is anybody else experiencing their phone waking up on its own while it's connected to the charger? I'm not sure when it started exactly but I'm sure it was after I updated to OTA 2.2.It's not hot or does anything else just that the screen turns on, stays on for like 2 seconds, and than the screen turns off. It seems to occur randomly. Is anybody else having this issue?

I have a good question (I think). Is there a way to keep the screen awake while charging the phone? For example, I keep it on the charger almost all day while I'm at work. And it would be nice just to glance over at it to see if I have an email and such. Any ideas?

I think this should be simple enough but I haven't found a solution. I would like to leave my WiFi radio on. This way, the phone will automatically connect to certain access points (that I have previously connected to). However, there are certain access points that I would only like the phone to connect to if I elect to manually connect to them. I can't seem to find this setting anywhere. The only two options I have on access points once connected is to Forget network and Change password. I want it to remember those but only connect when I manually tell it to.

Any idea what's the best option I have to purchase and download entire music ALBUMS directly on my phone? Sorry, this is my first smartphone, so I don't know much. Are there any apps for it? Someone told me "Amazon MP3 Store" for Android. I went to MarketPlace and searched for "Amazon" but could not find any Amazon MP3 App. I tried to purchase an album from amazon.com, but it says I need to install an "Amazon MP3 downloader" to purchase albums and it does not give me an option to download a version for the Android OS (however, it asks me to select one of 4 linux distributions). The other option I have is to buy and download individual songs from amazon.com, but I don't want that. I want to download entire albums. What is the best option I have? (P.S: I am not looking for free music).

I like having big icons on my phone but I'm having trouble figuring out how to do that. It seems the only launcher that will let me resize the icons is Go Launcher but I find it to be bulky and cumbersome is there any other launcher out there that will let me resize or even an app which will do it for me? I've used desktop visualizer to no avail and I'm pretty sure I've gone through most of the more popular launchers but was unable to find a resize option in them.
My phone is unrooted and I'm using a Xperia Pro.

Am I the only one having this problem? I plug my phone into the computer and select "charge only" but this disables any audio playback or anything located on the SD card from being accessed. In the Gallery and Music apps, I receive the following message: "Your content is unavailable because your phone is being used as USB storage. Disconnect USB to access your content."The phone is NOT listed as a storage device in My Computer. Can we not listen to music while "just charging"?I don't have an extra outlet at my desk so I just wanted to charge through my PC.

Is anybody able to pair and connect to another phone? I can pair and connect fine with my laptop and car head unit fine. I was trying to connect to co-worker's BB and wasn't able to. All it would say is Paired, not connected. So, I tried pairing to a co-workers Incredible and all it said is Paired, not connected. We tried pushing files anyways and it failed.
