Has anyone noticed that when you hold the power button, the Silent Mode will be listed as ON when the volume is on? Isn't this backwords? Then to silent the phone, I tap the Silent mode, and it switches to OFF and then the phone is silent (with the (/) through a music note in the taskbar)

I've noticed that my notifications were sporadic, both from e-mail and messages. I think I even missed a call once and was surprised because I never heard it ring/vibrate. After some testing I think I've figured out that when the phone is in my pocket, and I'm sitting at my office desk, the phone is face down in that same, fairly flat level position, that turns the ringer off if you flip your phone over on a desk while in a meeting. Is there any way to turn this feature off?

I run ATK before sleeping then turn on my alarm clock because running ATK last will kill your alarm. When I wake up I notice my phone is set to Silent mode on (holding down power button). What is the best way to fix this so I can actually get up on time with my alarm clock working properly?
View 1 Replies View Relatedmy galaxy s2,it is rooted,and i have another problem : the phone restarts by itself and gets stucked in the boot loop, i never flashed a new rom ,it is running the stock rom,Someday i needed to factory reset the phone so i rebooted into recovery mode (power + home button +vol up) ,. I booted into recovery mode but the power button does NOT react as 'select' button although it works just fine for power on and off. I select a function and press [power] an the first line becomes the selected. pushing it again just flashed the screen. But pressing it long turns the phone off,and even after the factory reset from phone directly(with out going to recovery mode)

View 28 Replies View RelatedI am plan B and AVG security installed, both don't always work, I have pattern lock on the phone but even in pattern lock mode when i press and hold power button the phone gives me option to shutdown.
If someone steals my phone they will be able to shut it off without unlocking it since holding down power button still works. So is there a way to lock the power button from shutting off phone when the phone is in pattern unlock mode?

View 7 Replies View RelatedThis is a problem I've noticed lately that is just killing my battery life. My Incredible never dims on its own. If I press the power button the screen will shut off but lets say I get a text and then I hit the power button, the screen comes on. I respond to the text and then hit home and put my phone down on the desk. The screen will stay on indefinitely. Not charging, completely unplugged the screen will just stay on. Has anyone run accross this and does anyone have any ideas on how to get it to time out again?

It was one of the major reasons why I ended up returning the moto droid for an eris (the eris has a power button on the bottom of the phone). Would root be required for this kind of mod?

I use profile and find it a little too in depth. I want something simple. I also think there may be a gremlin or two as I have found my settings changed without my doing anything.
View 2 Replies View RelatedBefore 2.2 There was a vibrate only option if you rocked the volume down just before the silent all option. Now, I can either only have vibrate with audio and a complete silent option; or a vibrate all option with no complete silent.
The vibrate only was great for things like movies, meetings, etc. The silent was great also when the vibrate itself is loud enough for an entire room to hear the buzz. Is there a script or an option I'm overlooking that would allow me to get that back?

Is there any way to make it so when i press and hold the power button and choose either silent or vibrant only that it will also mute media? I am hoping for the ability to change something through adb shell or something because I use the power button method all the time I just really want it to mute/unmute the media volume too.

I will turn the sound back on and then all of a sudden it's off after a couple of hours for no apparent reason. View 6 Replies View RelatedJust noticed this this morning (don't think it's happened before).. this is my second evo (0003 buld), had it for a few days.This morning (after having gone to bed last night and putting it on silent), i got a text and my phone started going off.Set it back to silent, and a few minutes later, it went off again after getting another text.Changed it to silent again and literally sat and watched the phone (w/ screen on) and watched it change back to "normal" on its own.Tried the same thing w/ vibe and after about 30-40 seconds it went back to normal on its own.I already did a hard reset/wipe and its still doing the same thing. I have nothing off the wall installed (that I didnt have on my 0002 device, and it wasnt doing this).

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy phone has a really annoying habit. Every night before I go to sleep. I switch it to silent mode. But if a call or a text message comes through overnight it vibrates. The next morning I find that the phone is now in vibrate mode. I did have Foxy Ring installed, although it was not activated. I wondered whether it could have anything to do with this, but I've now removed it from the phone, but the irritating behaviour persists. Short of turning the phone off overnight, how can I get a quiet night's sleep?
