Are there any good apps to replace the stock "people" app? With the stock people app is there a way to search for a contact instead of having to scroll?

Does someone know where I can get the stock music player so I can get touchwiz player? Also why doesn't the album art show up on 99% of my music? I found an app called album art grabber, its 3 dollars though but works perfect!

1. How do I search for a contact from the people list? I don't want to have to scroll through all of them, but I don't see a search button other than the global search, and that does not seem to pull up contacts.
2. How do I get the facebook pictures on my contacts? I did the sync with Facebook, but it did not bring the pictures over, just the data.available in LauncherPro

View 1 Replies View RelatedBeing able to store all my upcoming work schedule, birthdays, and several appointments is one of the most valuable things that I use my Dinc for. However, I have some issues with my calender. When ever I open calender and do a search (example: "dentist apt") the search always shows the appointment or event as being one day before it is actually scheduled. When I go to day view or agenda it then shows the correct date. I thought that this was a problem specific to my Dinc, however yesterday I was at a VZ store and tested this on a dinc in the store and the same thing happened. Does anyone know why this happens and if this is just a bug or it is meant to do this? Thanks
View 2 Replies View RelatedUnless I'm crazy I remember being able to create custom field labels for the phone and email info in the original people app (all contacts are Google type) on my Incredible. If I created them on my phone; they showed up in my Gmail contacts. If I created them in Gmail contacts; they showed up on phone.
Now all I see on the people app label options are the standard ones with no option to edit/create a cutom as there was before. Is this the case after 2.2? If so I'd rather have 2.1 back. I loved that feature! Anyone else see this on their DINC?

No matter what I do, the phone will not locate these people if I use people search, or just the regular search when using those parameters.
Hello everyone. I recently got the MyTouch 3G so I'm a new Android user and I'm very happy to be one. Anywho, I was wondering about the Handcent application. My friend suggested it to me and I like its setup over the default Messaging app, so I wanted to delete it. But would deleting the default Messaging app also delete all the texts in general? Or would they carry over to the Handcent app and stay there even after deleting the Messaging app. I don't want to lose some of the texts that I already had.

I'm in People, then click Menu and the Search feature was right there; has it been moved or removed? 2. I also responded to another post in a different phone forum about the missing Phone "Favorites" sub-feature in 2.1. Anyone know where that is? You can add a contact from your recently called list to your "Favorites" by hard pressing the contact name, but there's no associated Favorites app to go along with it.

I downloaded Handcent to use for my SMS because I like the way it looks better, etc. But I wish I could just remove the "Messaging" and replace it with Handcent so that I have access to it from every page instead of having to click on the Handcent App every time.

A newline should be allowed by pressing "12#" and then the newline key.Messages app should show the type of phone number (e.g. home or cell) when suggesting contacts in the "To" field, and should know to default to the cell phone. View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using the stock texting option and have a group set up. This weekend I sent out a group text and several of them went to the email addresses. I think this is because the ?primary? contact is the phone then the email address. Before the update all texts would go to the proper number so the people would get the texts. Does anybody know how to change the ?primary? contact? I hate to think this is just another thing that 2.1 added (or took away) to make this phone??.well less that I expect at this point.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am almost sure that before froyo, when I was playing mp3s via the stock music player, that when I exited that screen, the music app closed. It no longer closes when I back out of it. And there is no exit or quit option. Is force closing the only way to stop the dang thing? I don't use a task killer. I have the icon for running services and I close it from there.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI was able to successfully configure the stock email app on my android phone (Samsung Captivate). However when I went to "Email check frequency" in the settings to enable push, it did not allow me to do so. According to Android, there is an option in this setting called "Automatic (push)" other than polling options. In my case I just had polling options like "5 mts", "10 mts", "Never", and so on. But I don't have the "automatic push" option!
I checked in with my system admin. He said that they have enabled push from their end. In fact, we are on the corporate email of Google apps. So it is like a gmail except that it has my corporate email address. So this should have been a piece of cake, no?
I purchased Vignette Camera because I liked the edits. However, I noticed there is no option to take widescreen photos (takes up the whole screen of the Droid X) like the stock Camera app. I can take a photo with Camera first, then import it in the other app, but that's just more work. Any other options or apps out there?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter I rooted phone I deleted apps I did not think I would use including the browser. I did not however think all the way through the process and of course now the search key does not work. I like using that key for work.
Can someone help me re-install? I asume all I need is the apk file?
