I'm just looking for a froyo rom in which you can turn sense on/off if you want. Maybe it's more complicated than I'm thinking, maybe it's not...and it might even be available. I just haven't seen anything that explicitly says a rom can do it. Any tips?

This may be a dumb question but, If I move an app to the sd card through froyo like say Homerun Baseball 3D, and then do a factory data reset, will I have to reinstall the game and lose all my achievements or will it be on the SD card and untouched?

Does this mean I can't use launcher pro on sense froyo? If not, does someone know of a stable ROM they're using that does allow this? I just rooted my phone today for the first time, and am getting the Froyo itch.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am not sure if this has already discussed, but I couldn't find the thread with the same issue, so I am posting this. This may be a bug, or may be a feature that is incomplete. I am using the Droid Incredible with OTA'ed froyo 2.2, with factory resetted. My wife's Droid Incredible with OTA'ed froyo 2.2 without resetted has exactly the same issue. This seems to happen from fundamental android OS layer directly, as it appears on both launchpro and Sense UI.
I don't remember if the phone showed the same option with OS 2.1, but after update, I noticed the strange second option has been appeared with some of my contacts. I tried to un-link those contacts (i.e. phone contacts, google contacts or twitter contacts, etc) to figure out which part is making this problem with no success. Does anybody have the same issue? When I click the problematic option icon, the pop-up window comes offering me a choice of action with different applications.
Has anyone noticed the option for messaging is missing in the Froyo 3D gallery. All the other sharing options are there accept for messaging. Of course I would rather use the 3D gallery instead of stock. Any suggestions.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI installed 2.2 the ligit way, searched for updates and asked if I wanted to download 2.2 so I did. Now HTC Sense will not even start when I switch on the phone. The phone starts and then says "loading..." and while it's loading it shows that lovely application error, normally you just click "force close" but application that's breaking is actually HTC Sense and the "force close" button is grayed out, then the phone restarts with the white screen and green HTC logo and then gets to the "loading..." part and then HTC Sense breaks again and the phone is stuck in an infinite loop.

The option to allow the phone to backup automatically to SD card in Settings > Privacy have gone, does anyone know where the setting is now or even if a backup option is even available in froyo 2.2, because i can't find it anywhere even after a factory reset.
View 46 Replies View RelatedYesterday, I finally decided to root my phone and flash an android 2.2 'with Sense' ROM. I followed this guide: How To: Install Froyo On An HTC Desire | I Can Has Pi?
I used the 2.2 Sense ROM recommended by the guide. Everything was going really well, but once the proses was over I saw some things that instantly made me wish I had never bothered rooting:
-I have a VERY low internal memory; no room for half my backed-up apps, no room for SMS, no room to take a low resolution photo(let alone 720p video!), and not even room to browse my photos or music(I know-weird...)!
-Some apps (like the HTC MOD keyboard with voice input) simply don't work.
-Slow boot and load HTC Sense.
-Programs force-close very often, as dose HTC Sense.
There are some good things in this ROM (like a slight increase in performance) but really, the bad outweighs the good- especially with the low storage, considering that the main reason I rooted was to get more space for apps!
I don't know what to do now. Is there a solution within the ROM I'm using at the moment? Or did I just use a crappy ROM. Which can you recommend (Froyo w/Sense)? Unrooting seems quite easy, or is that dumb now that I've gone through the trouble of rooting? I can't be without receiving SMS for much longer!
Ive got my phone rooted and have a goldcard but the only rom ive been able to find is an alpha version. Is there by some chance a stock HTC rom with sense?the unbranded desires already have 2.2 right?

However, HTC (in their infinite wisdom) has decided that we really don't need a way to toggle bluetooth on or off during a call and has removed that button from their dialer. Bluetooth, what's that? A bluetooth toggle to be used during a call? No one would need that, let's code it out on purpose! Ok, enough ranting. Is there a way to get the vanilla froyo dialer on a Fresh (sense-based) ROM?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am a huge fan of the Fresh builds by Flipz over at Geek For Me - Sprint Evo 4g & CDMA Hero. I have a proposal for a new build (once able, of course) and wanted your guys opinions. I think most of us agree the best part of HTC's 'sense' is the widgets. HTC designed the Sense UI back in Android 1.5 days and it's a bit dated. The Froyo version of the Picture Gallery, Music Player, Dialer, App Drawer and Lock Screen are far superior to the Sense iterations. I think this would be the best build on the EVO: I'm talkin' the actual Froyo build here, not something that 'looks like' Froyo, not the HTC build with Sense disabled (still keeps the HTC Music, Gallery, Dialer, Lock screen etc.). I'm talkin' the full whammy, 'extra pickles' awesomeness. Code...
View 21 Replies View RelatedI recently updated through the OTA update to Froyo 2.2 on a stock EVO 4g (not rooted or messed with at all).When I finished the update,I sent a couple apps to my SD card (like Where was one, forgot the rest, maybe Flikie wallpapers).After that, the SD card was somehow permanently corrupted, I couldn't even format it on the phone or through a card reader on a PC. Anyway, then I started noticing extreme slowdowns on my phone's Sense interface (even today after putting in a new card).For example, when I try to type a text message,I put like a few letters from the person's name and it takes a good 30 seconds to show the results as opposed to instantly.Also, when a call comes in, the number shows up for a few seconds until it recognizes the contact, etc.Could it be because without a working SD card, things were put on the phone and now the phone is full (even though now I have a new card in there)? Or does anyone know why else this could be and maybe offer a solution?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI did the offical Froyo update on my phone this afternoon. It was stock with the latest OTA update 1.47. Followed the directions for the update and it went by smoothly until after I tried setting up my phone (Google account). I did a hard reset and everything was fine until a few minutes ago. I was able to sign into my Google, Facebook and Aim accounts. It is now back to an endless loop of trying to load Sense and force closing. Of course I can do another hard rest but is it too early to assume the force close loop problem will return? My phone is not functioning and I cannot even go into the setting to turn of Sense.

Some apps were missing even though they showed as installed and even so, I've got A LOT less internal memory than before and I'm still having to uninstall stuff
I thought Froyo was supposed to let you install apps to SD?
Does anybody know of any other than Nextheme and NexFro?

All appeared to go well and successful, past the point where I heard other people's got stuck.But when I slide down the slider and put in my password, it gets stuck in a force close loop for com.htc.launcher. Seems to not be able to open sense and keeps looping round.I saw a post from someone saying they had that problem, but then they just hit the search button and got the quicksearch, went to settings, then cleared the data for the appropriate application and then it worked fine.But when I hit the search button, nothing happens. If I hold it down, I get the google voice search, but I can't seem to get to settings from there.Does anyone know another method to get into settings as I'm hopeful this will fix my problem as suggested by some others. I'd much rather that than take it back to O2.

If anyone is interested, I will provide more info on how to install the patch and where to d/l it from.My desire is rooted but S-ON and odexed. It only works on rooted phones.I love this feature that only comes on DHD & DZ as part of the new sense 2.0 ui as standard.

I recently upgraded from an Eris to the Incredible.. when the 2.1 came down OTA for the Eris I could then go into my people, click on their picture which then brought up a menu with photos that represented actions (call, text, email, etc.) One of these pictures was a Facebook icon. This brought me right to that persons Facebook profile using the Facebook for Android widget. Now that I have the Incredible, this Facebook icon is not there. What's up with that? I mean I can click on their name, then "go to Facebook profile" but this isn't the same I can only then access their info and/or wall, none of their photos, etc. This phone makes me actually have to go into the Facebook for Android widget itself then search friends and then get to someone's profile. I miss the icon option on my Eris, but they both run 2.1, shouldn't the Incredible have this option too?

View 14 Replies View RelatedI got an invite to Google voice and I don't have any SMS options listed on the home page.Under setting where you should be able to set voice mail/ sms mine just says voice mail widgets.Am I missing something? There isn't an SMS option above the in box button either.Although I don't expect it to be there until I can change the settings.This is the main reason I wanted Google voice.
