HTC Incredible :: Way To Set The YouTube App As Default
May 30, 2010Whenever you click on an embedded YouTube video, it uses HTC's YouTube instead of giving the option to use the YouTube app. Is there a way to make it give the option to view the video using the YouTube app?

Jun 4, 2010How to stop youtube displaying the page designed for Mobile phones? I just want to view the site in my internet browser the same way as I can on my computer but when I am on youtube and I choose the Desktop view at the bottom of the page it just reverts back to Mobile view instead. I've disabled all the settings in my browser that convert sites to mobile views etc etc. It only does it on youtube and I cant stand the youtube app on my phone. I don't want any other apps or anything like that I just want to view it like I do on my comp.

Nov 4, 2010Is there a standard way to add a footer to a context menu, in which I can add a checkbox to make the selected option the default one?
Similar to the context menu that comes up when choosing the default home screen for example.
From the Api docs for ContextMenu I see that you can set a header view, but not a footer view. Also the setCheckable / setGroupCheckable methods don't seem to help much here.
Does this need to be done via a custom (alert) dialog? I would be wondering if nobody has yet developed such a component yet in case it's not possible through the standard SDK api. Any standalone open source component out there (beside the Android source itself)?
Motorola Droid :: Change Default Video Quality In YouTube
Jan 13, 2010I never watch YouTube videos in anything other than high quality. But the only way I can see to change the quality is via the menu on a per-video basis. It defaults to the lesser quality, which is REALLY crappy!
Is there some way to change the default to play videos in the best quality?
And also, what's to gain by playing them in the lesser quality? Bandwidth? Battery conservation? Load time? For a phone with such a magnificant display size & resolution, I can't imagine why anyone would want to view videos in anything but the best quality possible.

Dec 8, 2013Since the time I have upgraded to KitKat- I have been facing the issue of Call History. Every Time I miss a Call and I click on the name/number- Its asks me to select a default option of whoch way to open that entry , that is, through Dialer or through History. I tried selecting history and clicked on the "always use this option" but the same thing kept happening every time. After a few tries, I chose the other option and did the same thing and it again kept appearing... It looks like there's a bug in this and it never really saves my preference.

Jun 11, 2010I recently upgraded from an Eris to the Incredible.. when the 2.1 came down OTA for the Eris I could then go into my people, click on their picture which then brought up a menu with photos that represented actions (call, text, email, etc.) One of these pictures was a Facebook icon. This brought me right to that persons Facebook profile using the Facebook for Android widget. Now that I have the Incredible, this Facebook icon is not there. What's up with that? I mean I can click on their name, then "go to Facebook profile" but this isn't the same I can only then access their info and/or wall, none of their photos, etc. This phone makes me actually have to go into the Facebook for Android widget itself then search friends and then get to someone's profile. I miss the icon option on my Eris, but they both run 2.1, shouldn't the Incredible have this option too?

May 10, 2010I got an invite to Google voice and I don't have any SMS options listed on the home page.Under setting where you should be able to set voice mail/ sms mine just says voice mail widgets.Am I missing something? People posted that the advantage was you could default to HQ.
But, I'm confused. I got my dinc yesterday and when I play a youtube video in my stock player, I start out in HQ automatically.
Do I have an updated stock player or am I missing something?

May 30, 2010At first I thought it looked decent since the interface was clean and the HQ videos looked good. But now the more and more I use it I realize how much it sucks. To start, you can't do ANYTHING while watching a current video without it stopping. So if you want to comment on the video, read it's info, or put your phone on sleep, the video stops playing.
Because of this it makes YouTube useless for music. YouTube is one of the best music sites out there (since almost any song is uploaded in video form), but because you can't put the phone on sleep or do something else while it's playing it's unusable. Why would I stare at an image on my screen at full brightness for 5 minutes while listening to a song? It's a battery killer and makes no sense. Also the search feature is weaker. For some reason when I search stuff on YouTube.com I get much more results than I do on the mobile app. Lastly, you can't tweak the settings to make HQ video as the default. The low-quality videos are awful and you have to go into settings each time to change it to HQ.
HTC Incredible : Can't Upload To Youtube / How To Fix?
Sep 5, 2010So uploading worked fine before Froyo, but now that I have Froyo I can't upload anything to youtube. When I try it just says "waiting for retry - 1 minute" It seems to go a couple %'s at a time if I manually select retry, but I did that all the way to 100% and it didn't post.

Sep 4, 2010I am not sure if this has already discussed, but I couldn't find the thread with the same issue, so I am posting this. This may be a bug, or may be a feature that is incomplete. I am using the Droid Incredible with OTA'ed froyo 2.2, with factory resetted. My wife's Droid Incredible with OTA'ed froyo 2.2 without resetted has exactly the same issue. This seems to happen from fundamental android OS layer directly, as it appears on both launchpro and Sense UI.
I don't remember if the phone showed the same option with OS 2.1, but after update, I noticed the strange second option has been appeared with some of my contacts. I tried to un-link those contacts (i.e. phone contacts, google contacts or twitter contacts, etc) to figure out which part is making this problem with no success. Does anybody have the same issue? When I click the problematic option icon, the pop-up window comes offering me a choice of action with different applications.
HTC Incredible :: Unable To Connect Phone To Pc - No Charging Option
Nov 19, 2010When I connect my DINC via USB to my computer, the computer does not recognize my phone, there is no option for charge or disk drive like there used to be, it just starts charging, but the USB icon which used to appear in the task bar does not appear. I also have the setting set to "ask me every time I connect" on my phone, I have played around with this setting to no avail. The phone also does not appear in My Computer. I have changed USB ports and cables, and my computer recognizes every other device I have, so it is only a problem with recognizing my phone.
