HTC Incredible :: Sound Crackly Like Blown On External Speaker
Aug 20, 2010I updated radio, rooted with unrevoked 3 and installed syraider vanilla. Now i have external speaker issue. Sound crackly like its blown. Anyone have a similiar issue?Dont know if its software related or not.Was fine before I updated.

Apr 5, 2010For some reason my Eris speaker sounds like it's blown out. You can still hear but there's like a vibration or ratling sound kind of like how a car speaker sounds if you crank it to bits. I was thinking this would either get fixed or replaced (don't care either way), but will verizon have a problem if I have 2.1 V2 on there? Void warranty or no?

Feb 26, 2010It seems lately when I have my eris in my upper coat pocket and it rings, it sounds like the speaker is blown. Real tint sounding but once I move it the sounds are better. Laying on my desk or in my hand it seems fine. Almost like the speaker doesn't like the upward vertical position or something.

On my second one the sound was much less apparent but it was still kind of there. Its been about a week now and I believe it is now just as bad as the first one I had. Apr 26, 2010I bought an Eris on the 28th, but returned it sunday within the 30 day grace period to wait for the incredible. And its killing me xD.I had to switch back to my winmo 6.1 HTC vx6900, and switching back from android is rough. Truly, it is a day to day struggle that we must cope with one step at a time. Tasks that used to be so simple, like editing a contact or sending a text, are now unwieldy by comparison.Who else here has had to do this? Am I alone in having to deal with this?

Jun 14, 2010I placed an order for the Incredible a couple weeks ago, and it should arrive sometime next week. I was really psyched to get the phone until I found out that the Motorola Xtreme (or shadow) is coming out in July (or so I have read).I really like the UI of the incredible, and believe the phone will fit my needs very well. I will primarily use the incredible for apps, pictures, and video. My only hang-up is that I dont really want to buy the incredible if it will be surpassed by the Moto X a few weeks after I get my incredible. Does this sound legitimate? Is the Moto X going to be that much better than the incredible?I dont love the way the Moto X looks (at least from the pictures I have seen), and I also do not really want a huge phone either. Verizon told me I can still cancel my order without a penalty, but Im not sure if I would be happier with the Moto X. What should I do?

Aug 31, 2010I did the manual update and now when it boots up I do not get any network connection. When I go to the network connections it says that I am connected to the verizon network. But it will not show the bars or the 3G it just shows an x I am new to android. I used to update my Blackberry all the time I never had these issues. Now all the images scale to fit into the row, but each row is way taller then it needs to be. Here's an excerpt of the xml:

Jun 21, 2010I called tech support because of the numerous issues I've been having with my Inc (sound issues, in call sound dropping out with call still in progress, pink screen, unresponsive screen, weird lock ups, etc.).They told me I wouldn't get a replacement until July 19.I finally told her to order it but after much work, the system wouldn't let her order it at all.She got really flustered and finally got tired of messing with it and transferred me to tech support.Fortunately, I was transferred to a really helpful tech who really understanding.She also tried unsuccessfully to order it.She out the next two days but is having a coworker follow up and she will continue to help me sort it out if it isn't already by Wednesday.So we'll see what happens.One way or another she's promised to get me a working phone though I don't know if it will be an Inc.Just thought folks might find it interesting that at the moment, it can't be ordered internally.

Jun 23, 2010I'm sure the engineers who build these phones are quite brilliant individuals, and certainly, at least one of them has figured out by now that, "Hey, if we put the speaker on the back of the phone, the sound is going to be muffled when the phone rings!"So I'm just curious if there is some logistical/technical reason why this is done? I figure it would be much better design-wise to put the speaker on the front, or maybe even on the bottom. Other than not being able to see the screen in direct sunlight, this is the only real gripe I have about the phone thus far.Also, do you guys lay the phone face down when not using it, assuming you'd otherwise sleep right through the phone ringing when sitting on its back?
