I am supposed to receive my Droid Incredible after a month long wait...the only problem is...I don't think I will be at home at all. What should I do? Do I call and tell them to set it aside? Or tell them to come later? Or try for Tuesday?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a thread that constantly polls a UDP connection and posts the received data to another thread. It uses a connected DatagramSocket, reads a packet (which is always the same side), gets the data and posts it to a message queue (not the android one, my implementation). The problem happens mainly over 3G connection, not wifi.

I bought an Eris on the 28th, but returned it sunday within the 30 day grace period to wait for the incredible. And its killing me xD.I had to switch back to my winmo 6.1 HTC vx6900, and switching back from android is rough. Truly, it is a day to day struggle that we must cope with one step at a time. Tasks that used to be so simple, like editing a contact or sending a text, are now unwieldy by comparison.Who else here has had to do this? Am I alone in having to deal with this?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm curious on this one. On my old Voyager I was able to get delivery reports with a check mark in my sent items folder, so I knew if my tm went through. Today I was told that someone was not getting my texts, which was a problem on there end, since I was able to send and receive to others without issue. So I was curious, and found a setting in the stock messaging app to enable delivery reports. It works, however it just displays a little envelope with a green exclamation point in it.
This is cool and all, however I get that same icon for both successful deliveries and to ones that show up as "Pending" when I view the report. So I was wondering if this is normal for Android phones, or if there is an app I can use to get a better icon/report for delivered texts.
I know if you long press the message in question you can press (view report) (not view detail) which can indicate MESSAGE PENDING. But the Icon has an green EXCLAMATION MARK in the envelope icon just as all the delivered messages do. I'm guess the Incredible Text message only indicates and verifies the message was sent by your (Incredible) phone, whether it was delivered has to be verified by long pressing the message itself and read the option VIEW REPORT. Does anyone know of a way to overcome this SMALL but very important dilemma.

I was really psyched to get the phone until I found out that the Motorola Xtreme (or shadow) is coming out in July (or so I have read).I really like the UI of the incredible, and believe the phone will fit my needs very well. I will primarily use the incredible for apps, pictures, and video. My only hang-up is that I dont really want to buy the incredible if it will be surpassed by the Moto X a few weeks after I get my incredible. Does this sound legitimate? Is the Moto X going to be that much better than the incredible?I dont love the way the Moto X looks (at least from the pictures I have seen), and I also do not really want a huge phone either. Verizon told me I can still cancel my order without a penalty, but Im not sure if I would be happier with the Moto X. What should I do?

I am using Handcent.
After the picture resizes and I click send I initially get a message in the notification bar telling me that it was Unable to Deliver - Retrying.
This happens EVERY time, however, in some cases the picture/mms seems to go through while other times it doesn't. I check the delivery reports and there is no confirmation that these mms messages either get delivered or not.
Has anyone experienced this and is there a solution? Using the settings, I've decreased the default picture size and I increased the allowable size of the file able to be delivered. This hasn't made a difference.
Well my text messages have added up to like about 6500 the thing is that I can't delete these messages on stock app and handcent phone just freezes after a while it gives you the option to force close or wait?

My service has been terrible and the customer "service" reps I've dealt with have ranged from incompetent to rude.I'm looking forward to giving "Big Red" a chance and getting my first Android device. I picked the Inc over the X for the FM radio, the Outlook sync, and because I've not been impressed with various Moto phones over the years (SLVR, ROKR, and others).I got a nice deal on wirefly, 149 with a new contract and a $30 bill credit. And they had it in stock. When I go to the network connections it says that I am connected to the verizon network. But it will not show the bars or the 3G it just shows an x I am new to android. I used to update my Blackberry all the time I never had these issues. How do I get it back to 2.1 if I cannot get this fixed.
Also I went into my SD & Phone Storage Folder. And none of my SD or Phone Storage is available as if they r not even there. Now I am getting a window that pops up saying: Sorry System is not Responding force close/wait

Currently in Australia I've been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the HTC Desire to these shores on 27 April. However the specs of the Incredible have caught my attention as it appears to have a much better multimedia capability than the Desire eg the 8MP camera and rumoured ability to be able to video in 720p. really torn, even though there's still two weeks till the Desire's official launch, which leaves plenty of time to see if the Incredible does finally get announced overseas, should I hold off and wait to see what the Incredible is fully capable of, or is the extra power in the camera not worth the wait?Aside from the powered up camera - what does make the Incredible much better than the Desire I guess is my main area of interest. As if I decide to wait for the Incredible I'll probably have to figure out where to order it from overseas too.

1. Plug phone in
2. Turn Phone Off
3. Wait 5 seconds
4. Turn Phone On

I'm trying to email a few pics and a video i took on my phone to myself and it just shows up in my outbox. How long does it take to email attachments like this? I even turned on wifi cause i thought it might require wifi like youtube does

When I was talking to Tech Support when my first Inc was having problems he told me it was best to charge a full 24 hours the first time. I noticed that in a long threaded email with friends, when it got too long, it was stuck retrieving the email and I had to stop it and then try and download it all again (get remaining) and it never was able to retrieve it. When I finally got home to check the thread they were asking why I wasn't responding. Any tips on how to resolve long email threads not being retrievable?

Is there away for it to download it better instead of stopping every few seconds to buffer more. This way it can be smoother. There has to be some way to do it my storm that didnt have no where near as much memory played them better.
