Looks like I have a dead pixel issue on my camera.. when I get a replacement, can that transfer all my settings and everything over, or do I need to downbload and install and setup everything all over again? I'm using launcher pro, and setting up all 7 home pages again takes a LOT of time.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI spent an hour on the phone with a Verizon CSR and he could not get wifi to work on my DX, so he said they will send a new replacement on 8/3.He instructed me to do a factory reset, so it looks like I lost all my data. I really wish I would have backed up my contacts, but he said they would sync back up within an hour. I hope he's right because I don't want to bluetooth them again ONE BY ONE. Can anybody confirm the gmail sync? I lost all my texts and apps too. I'm pretty sure I read that if I had used appbrain I wouldn't have lost all my apps. But, I don't know if there's a way to back up texts.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI did a factory reset last week after reading some of the posts about it here. I had some lag issues, and the Verizon tech also suggested that. I also did the *228 tip to reprogram the phone as was suggested. It was OK for a few days, but I'm having similar problems again. Before I go to Verizon, I thought I'd list them here and see what you good folks thought.
1) I still get terrible lag from time to time, and at all different times. I know that when I'm trying to do something with the battery low (under 25% lets say), its slow, but I chalk that off as understandable.
2) Sometimes when I send a text message out, I see that it takes at least 5 minutes to get sent. During this time, I do notice that time in the notification bar is anywhere from 3 to 5 minutes behind. Then, after a few minutes, catches back up to be in sync with the time shown on the HTC Sense widget on my home screen. BTW, that frozen time has occurred when the phone is just sitting there, not necessarily during a text message being sent, so SOMETHING is bogging it down.
3) Sometimes, and this has been increasing over the last few days, when I try to type something, either in a text message or in someone's contact info, I get the text box up and the virtual keyboard, but no text shows up at all when I'm typing. I see the characters that pop up, but nothing ends up in the text box. I have to exit out of that app and try again later. Very frustrating when you're trying to text someone and you have to wait 5-10 minutes to do it.
4) I know about the battery issues and how poor the battery life is. I've tried to remedy that by only checking my email, Twitter, and Facebook once per hour, but my battery still drains pretty fast. Today, for example, I took the phone off of the charger @ 7:30am. It was at 28% left @ noon! Granted, some of the issues that I describe above were going on and probably had a lot to do with that (clock lagging behind, texts taking 5 minutes to go out), but still, almost 75% of the battery gone after only 4 hours SUCKS! I've done the usual remedies (power the phone down then back on; battery pull; factory reset last week, etc.). It seems to help for a very short period of time but reverts back to the problems I describe above. So, is a trip to Verizon in my future? If they replace it, is a refurb acceptable to get? I've read varying stories ranging from "my refurb works like a charm" to "my refurb has the same issues as my old phone". I don't want to inherit the same problem, or someone else's problem. Am I basically stuck here until my "new every 2" is up in November 2011?
I had a legitimate problem with my Eris that I sent it back for, but was still hoping to be able to root again when I got my replacement. Turns out it has HBOOT 1.49. Any one else encounter this?

View 27 Replies View RelatedI'm looking to see if I can get any good advice on a replacement phone for my work. The droid is my personal phone and I am up for a new device for my business phone. I have Verizon for my business phone as well and we are on a corporate plan. So the carrier has to be big V. I would try an android phone (other than the droid...I don't want two of them ) but I don't know how well android integrates with the Windows server for syncing contacts, calendar, outlook, etc. Any suggestions on phones currently out or coming out in the next month or two? Can have a physical keyboard or a decent touchscreen keyboard. I don't care as long as it works better than my HTC Touch did. Once I got my Droid. The resistive screen just didn't work for me anymore.

I called Vz this evening and they said they have finished sending out OTA updates for 2.2 and if I want it installed I have to go into a store.

Heck the screen will shift almost 1/4 inch from top to bottom. View 6 Replies View RelatedI tried Home++ yesterday and didn't like it too much although I may just have to try it again. I didn't care for that "power strip" in Home++ either (can you turn it off?). I wished it would import all the icons from my regular home screen into Home++ so I don't have to re-create everything. Does anyone else out there have a better home screen replacement program? I saw people talking about GDE but I couldn't find the actual application in the Market Place. I also looked at the Panda Home but from the screen shots, it looked weird. I like the plain-jane version that came with my phone. I don't want fancy skins or colors or bells and whistles.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've been playing around with Home++ lately and have really been liking the feel of this home replacement. Currently I'm using DxTop and while I am really impressed with it as well, I feel like changing it up a bit.
I'm just wondering if having both of them installed on my phone is going to kill the battery faster, make it lag, or generally cause any issues with normal phone operation. Also, if I select to use one of them as my default home screen, does it automatically stop the other one or will I have two home replacements running at once?
