HTC Droid Eris : Low Memory - When Open App Manager It Shows Mail App Is Using 59mb Of Memory
Jun 24, 2010My phone is low on memory, when I open my app manager it shows my mail app is using 59mb of memory. I have erased all mail and cleared the cache with no change. I am running android 2.1

Dec 12, 2009Up until now I have been able to open attachments with no problem but now I cant seem to be able to open any. I get the email and the paper clip is there but I cant do anything with it. No long press, or tap, or double tap or anything. Its just not opening anything. Done battery pull but still a no go.

Aug 9, 2010I have exchange set up on my Droid through the email program that comes with the phone.. Its been working fine until this weekend, really. 3 separate times, it's failed to load my inbox or sync new messages, and it pops up with the unable to open connection to server message.Ive quadruple checked all of my settings, removed my account, re-added my account, refreshed it, and still, it wont sync my inbox and it still shows that message. I even tried installing touchdown, and touchdown wouldnt sync my email either? I didnt like how it kept my contacts all separate from my gmail contacts, so I went ahead and uninstalled it. I REALLY just want to use the regular exchange email program..But get this, I am able to sync my sent mail though, and Im able to SEND email messages, just not receive them.
We have our own exchange server for our company, and we have 4 other people in our office running exchange on their phones, (2 Motorola Droids, 1 Droid X, and an HTC 6800...) Nobody else is having issues with their phones syncing their email so I know this isnt an exchange issue, but a phone issue instead.Ive run an update (just the *228) on my phone, reset it like 3 times, killed all the apps, and it still wont sync my inbox (just my sent mail..) And again, it'll send email but wont receive it.I know calling or going into a verizon store will be a waste of time.
Android :: Unable To Open Downloaded Apps On Droid X?
Jul 29, 2010On a few apps I have downloaded I am unable to actually open the app. The app does not show up in my apps list and when I open it in the marketplace it says it's installed but the "open" button is grayed out. Anyone know if I'm doing something wrong or if it's an app error? This has only happened on about 4 apps I've downloaded. The most recent one is BatterLife.

Jul 31, 2010I have been reading about the sdcard partitioning on the forum here and I thought I might ask a question that I couldn't find along my travels whilst reading. I have a 16GB SDcard class 6 and here is my question. I have a HTC Desire with setROM 4.5, before I installed this ROM I partitioned my sdcard with a 512MB ext partition using ROM Manager (paid version), now everything seemed to work just fine with the flash etc, but when I go into the SD card + phone storage I see this: When I use Root Explorer application, I cant see the other partition (512MB one) I made? Can anyone advise if this is normal? I can move my apps to sd though through the manage applications section. I should add, I have no idea why I even created this external partition, do i even need it?

Nov 14, 2009"Unable to open connection to server." That's the message I'm getting from my Droid every time I try to set up a connection to my web hosts SMTP server using IMAP. The settings I put in the Droid work fine on my laptop and on my blackberry.
I've tries using ports 25, 1025, 465 and 587. I even tried 143 and 585. Anyone have any clue why this is happening? Anyone else having trouble with SMTP/IMAP connections to their email server? Right now I can't send emails from the Droid and that's a HUGE problem.

Nov 13, 2009My company's exchange server is similar to mail.company.com/exchange, but when I put in that address, it removes the "/exchange" and it gives me an error saying "Unable to open connection to server". Is there a way around this, or am I stuck without the ability to sync my work email?

Feb 13, 2010So I am trying to root my phone I am at the point where I am rooted and I have made a nandroid backup. I have moved those files to my computer and put the bugless beast nandroid files in their place. The problem is when I go to Droidroothelper and select reboot/recovery my phone reboots and the /! comes up on my screen and a line on the bottom says E: can't open /cache/recovery/command......
any tips I dont know what to do to load the nandroid backup of the bugless beast.

Jun 17, 2010I like how in winmo , you can click the top right icon area and pull up all open apps to quickly switch between them. with android, i have to hit the home screen, swipe left (usually one time) to find my app and "re-open" it again. it's a hassle. maybe android doesn't have this option, maybe it's just a winmo thing, but i'm still getting adjusted from winmo > android.

Feb 4, 2010Just downloaded a file manager (two, actually - deciding which one I like best), but in accessing my SD card, I notices a bunch of folders with nothing in them. I'm wondering if this is possibly due to when I switched from my Motorola Droid, they allowed me to take that 16 gb card and put it in my Eris since I had some downloads and photos on it (and, yes, I had to buy a replacement 16 gb card for the Droid, so now I have an extra 8 gig card just laying around doing nothing). So I was wondering, does anyone else have these files? Are they safe to delete? Should I delete them or just leave them? Here is the "tree." I've indented sub folders five spaces and put in parenthesis if the folder/subfolder contains any files/info.

HTC Droid Eris : Installed Audio Manager Not Working
May 23, 2010I have had Audio Manager installed for a while now and every few days the settings move on me. Specifically the system volume. I like keeping it at 2, and it will default back to 7.
Not a huge deal, but it's annoying. I'm wondering what is causing it to change. Maybe an app? Anyone with audio manager experience this?

(Please no more about if we NEED a task killer) What I like about the killer on astro is that it lets me see how much memory and cpu a task or process is actually using before I kill it. I rarely use a task killer. Only when a task seems to be hanging up. It looks like Astro has the functionality I need, so I will remove Advanced Task Killer.
