View 3 RepliesI saw a thread where a user removed several apps after rooting the droid x and then successfully did a factory reset. I proceeded to remove the same apps using Titanium Backup. Before doing so, I saved the whole system/apps folder to the sd card in case i wanted to reinstall any later. I figured the reason these apps were installed in the system folder is so users couldn't touch them (assuming they weren't rooted). So just as a test, I tried reinstalling CityID using Root Explorer, and it installed it in the data/app folder (which uses the 8GB of internal memory). 1.) Can we effectively uninstall all the apps from the system folder and then reinstall them manually onto the 8GB of internal memory using root explorer, so we are no longer using our RAM space? 2.) Anyone feel brave enough to try doing this with a factory reset to see what happens? 3.) Another question I've seen asked and not answered is whether 'freezing' an application with Titanium will cause any harm with a factory reset (for something with a known issue like Backup Assistant), or would the app be re-enabled since the factory reset would blow away Titanium?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I get the 2nd leak of froyo 2.2 the updated version via update.zip method. I then learn about Rom manager app, And get both the free and paid versions. I go to download/install the downloaded rom's from the rom manager and every time it reboots it doesn't work. I've been trying to get BB 1.1 with smoked glass, And it'll download, But wont install?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have published application and now I'm making update to it. I changed applications Data structure and moved all files under /Android/ data/<package_name>/files/ folder. All files that are in that folder will be automatically removed when application is uninstalled.I want those files to be removed when application is uninstalled but not when it's UPDATED. I don't want users to lose all their data after every update. I don't know how to test it (without publishing new release). So will those files be deleted when user updates my application?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have downloaded LauncherPro and Widget Locker. So, everytime I hit home, I get a choice of those two. I don't know why I got Widget Locker, I can't even figure out what it does.
How do I stop it from showing up as an option? I don't want to uninstall it, since I paid for it, and someday I may decide I want it.
I read sometimes in comments of applications that people can't uninstall the app. Has anyone come across this issue before? I have yet to have this problem but should I steer clear of people complaining about apps not uninstalling?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI recently installed one of Chevy's low voltage kernels a few days ago and have since experience extremely laggy performance, random reboots, and terrible battery life compare to what I used to get before I installed it. And most of that stuff has been happening even when I have it maxed at 550. How do I go about uninstalling this kernel?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI downloaded CPU Tuner yesterday for my EVO, anytime I overclocked it, my phone would keep rebooting to the point I had to do a battery pull and restore another ROM image! So I decided to uninstall it. Went to applications <manage applications<cpu tuner<uninstall. Said it was uninstalled successfully, rebooted my phone and it was still there! Now when I go to manage my applications to uninstall, it's no longer on the list! How do I get it off my phone?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI missed this on Home++, and I just noticed it an update ago but you can drag an icon to the trash bin, hold it there for 3 seconds and it gives you the option to uninstall.
I don't recall it being mentioned in other ADW threads.

I have version 0.35.3989 installed for Swype. Every time I try to uninstall it says "Uninstall not successful"
I am using Astro to uninstall this version of Swype.
I can install the beta one that they just released, but it then tells me a version of Swype is already installed.
Any idea how to uninstall this app?
Ok so I've got smoked glass 6.0.1 running great on my phone but I'm one of the many that are having problem with google maps. I opted to uninstall after installing the rom but I don't know how to do it. I've searched everywhere and they all say just go to manage apps and uninstall from there. I don't have the option to do it from there!...I then saw that you can try filtering and choosing one of the com.google......things that are listed but I don't have the one for maps. Lastly, I saw somewhere using adb shell does the job but I have NO IDEA how to do that.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIm new to rooting and I really have no clue what im doing for the most part but I rooted using easy root the other day mainly because I wanted the wifi tethering...
Well after rooting with easy root I noticed it gives you some apps to check out now that your rooted...busy box being one of them...so I did it not knowing what it was.
Now I've realized I have no need for it but I know it installed itself into my bin and some other places I think...just wanting to know what is the proper way to get rid of all things busy box after running install?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am currently running UD8 with the Watermarked theme on top. I like the theme, but want to go back to the stock UD8, because I like LauncherPro and LP and Watermarked don't exactly match in design. Can I just re-install UD8 on top of what I already have without clearing data/cache, or should I do a complete data/cache wipe before re-installing UD8? Or is there another way to remove a theme that I don't know about?

I have an HTC Droid Eris with Verizon. It came installed with several apps that not only do I not use, but that in some cases start automatically. These include Amazon MP3, Footprints, Google Talk, Teeter, and YouTube. I would like to uninstall them, but I am not given that option (like I am for third-party apps) when I go into "Manage applications" in Settings. Is there another way of removing them from my phone?

View 1 Replies View RelatedLast week I installed Helix, because I wanted more home screens. Got that, and I also like the extra buttons across the bottom, very nice. the phone is laggy when I use Helix. I can switch back to the standard Launcher, and no lag, so it is helix. Is there some settings I can play with to help with the lag? is there another launcher I can try that has 5 screens (or more) and less lag?
