Jun 30, 2010On my UK Milestone (rooted), long press on the search button only works when the hardware keyboard is shut, when the keyboard is open, long press works the same as a short press.
While looking for a fix for this, I found very little information on the net, so I'm wondering if it's a problem with only selected devices. Can anyone confirm for me if theirs works or not?
I have OpenSearch assigned to long press search, and since I always use the hardware keyboard, I need to close it, long press search, then open the keyboard. It's annoying.
I've looked at editing the qwerty.kl file in /system/user/keylayout, my idea was to try to redefine to search key on the keyboard (between left alt and @) to launch OpenSearch, but it apears that I can only redefine keys to other keys that way, not launch apps.
Android :: Add Action On Browser's Context Menu After Link Long Press
Mar 14, 2010I need to add an action in the Context Menu that pops up after a Long Press of a Link in the Browser (the one that has 'Open','Open in new window','Bookmark link','Save link', etc.)As a result of choosing my action it should call my service and etc.I don't want my app to overwrite all the context menu of the browser but only add an action to it.I haven't found any information on how to do this. Is it possible?

May 18, 2013I have a Nexus 4 running stock JB 4.2.2.
At some point (not sure when exactly) the long-press feature to bring up the context menu for links in Chrome stopped working.
When I long-press on a link, all that happens is I get a short vibrate, but no menu.
This means that I can no longer "Open in new tab".It's all working fine on my Nexus 7.
HTC EVO 4G :: Yahoo Mail Application / Can't Open Attachments
Oct 5, 2010Yahoo Mail app has worked great every since I've had the EVO. Sprint updated my profile today (turn on the picture mail app) and every since that time, I have not been able to open attachments. I have rebooted several times, un installed and re-installed the yahoo app, updated my profile and PRL. Still no luck. Any ideas?

May 4, 2010While I was roaming around in the App section of the forum I stumbled across this thread. Long press "+" = skip track. One of the people who posted a comment in it claims that by long pressing on their volume rockers, will skip tracks. Does anyone here know if this is true? Apparently it only works with 2.1 and if this is the case, which I can't do cause I am running BB v1 but i am confused cause its in 2.1 even though I rooted under 2.0.1. Can anyone confirm this?

Aug 8, 2010I recently downloaded K9, having read on here what a good email program it is. I can't get the thing to work with my Yahoo.co.uk account. It's Pop 3. The account works ok with the standard HTC email program, but when I try to set it up using K9, I get "Setup could not finish Cannot connect to server (Unable to open connection to POP server)." I've googled it, I tried setting it up without using wifi, and tried changing settings to IMAP and port numbers, but just can't get anywhere with it.

Aug 4, 2010Never had problem before, and not sure what happened. Today, I tried to send a phone pic via email, and came up with this error message on Notification Panel:
"Unable to send mail."
"The account setting is incorrect (Yahoo)."
I press on the actual Notification, and it automatically prompts me to change account settings.

Hit Next.
Incoming Settings
Protocol > IMAP
Email address > myname@yahoo.com
Password > *******
IMAP server > android.imap.mail.yahoo.com
Security type > SSL
Server Port > 993
Above is my current settings, but I did not change anything.
I re-entered my yahoo password to see if that's problem, and now get a warning message saying, "Authentication failed. Please verify username/password" but that's my correct username and password for Yahoo.

Aug 28, 2009Not got the phone yet.. but it looks good.. as an Apple fan i love the Iphone but im not willing to change carrier or pay what they want.. so i think the hero is my best option.. What is important to me is my email.. I want to be able to sync my yahoo account with yahoo mail and the mail on the phone so if i send an email on my phone it will appear in the sent folder on my yahoo mail on the computer and vice versa if you follow... With Android being google will i be able to do this from the phones email client like the iphone does...

Apr 22, 2010I can't seem to find a good email set up on my Droid. When I got my droid I set up my email for POP3 since I have Yahoo Mail Plus. I do not want to use imap for many reasons. It set up no problem, put it constantly pulls old messages from the server or ones that I deleted off the phone (not the server) days earlier. So then, I switched to having gmail pull my yahoo mail via pop3. That solved the old message issues, but if anyone know about gmail, you can't set the frequency by which it pulls from the server. I would always get my email anywhere from 30 minutes to and hour and half after it was actually received. So today I tried the new imap set up. It works except I have a computer at home that's pulling the message via POP3. When it does that, it marks them as read on the server. Because of that I don't get notified of new messages. When the Droid syncs with yahoo, it shows that the message is already read.

Nov 14, 2010Just set my wife up with the new yahoo mail app that came out last week. Very nice that it pushes now. I can't, however, get it to make any notification sounds. She has Zedge for downloading ringtones and notification sounds and her general notification sound is set as a sound from Zedge at this time. Will yahoo only use stock sounds so it doesn't play anything? I do have the box checked to use notification sounds and vibrate in the setting.

The phone and everything on it work fine except it is running Firmware 2.0 When I check for updates it says that there are no updates available. My old Droid that broke was running the 2.2 How do I upgrade to the 2.2 or will the update just appear one of these days? Also the yahoo mail app does not appear in the marlet on the new phone but I had been running it on my old phone. Is this due to the older operating system?
