I have downloaded several pdf ebooks and uploaded to play book via Google play book app. When I try to read them, that pdf files pages are not fully fit to the screen. But when I read the Google play auto added books, they are fitted with the screen height and width. Is it a pdf file issue? If it's my pdf issue, how do I correct them?

Whenever I download a file from the stock browser and install it, how to i delete the downloaded files? I went to my downloads app and that only clears the download history.

That said, I don't want to completely loose all of my data. My question is: I got a screen viewer on my computer to display a live feed from my droid, and I am looking for the easiest way to back up as much data as possible. I don't think I can do a nandroid backup because of the broken screen, but I can definitely root and backup using the feed on my computer.

My first video was full screen on the internal memory and then i somehow changed it to save to external SD card the recording problem started (i don't know how to change the save settings).
I'm greatly annoyed by GoogleDialer's phone app which shows caller picture blocked 50% by black blank area. What files do I have to edit to make picture more bigger or atleast make that blank space disappear?
I know that I could simply get another dialer but I like Google's version. That blank space just bugs me.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI havent been able to find the zip or rar files my phone downloads (or at least I think it has downloaded) through the Browser app.
THe very first time I tried this it worked fine. i downloaded a zip file from filestube and it immediately showed up in the notification bar that it was downloading. When it was done i clicked the notification and i unzipped it with androzip or something like that. Worked like a charm...
But now i have tried many times, and i never get any confirmation that any download has begun in the notification bar or anything. The only thing that leads me to believe that some download is actually taking place is that, for instance, if iam downloading from megaupload, if i click the download button 2x it will take me to window saying that "this i.p address is already downloading a file".
But i cant find any evidence of this on the phone? I have looked through all the folders on the sd card, but no luck.

in some apps (such as VLC, Flash player, the stock video player, etc), there appears to be a small black bar at the bottom where the status bar usually is (even if it's hidden, there's still a black bar). I've had a research and saw a solution app called 'full!screen', however I have no way of rooting the device (It's an Android TV box with no USB output, only input). My current solution is to use MX Player, but it doesn't play 1080p videos properly, so I'd really prefer VLC at this point.

Music simply quits when I switch to another open application. I do not have this problem with music I have manually transferred to the phone, and the only difference that I can identify between them is the location of the files: downloads on the internal sd and others on the external. Is there any reason why the file location should be an issue?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI went to Google Labs and looked around and found Places Directory. The page shows a barcode and said I could scan that and download the app so that's what I did. My browser opened up and showed that the file was downloaded.
So I went back to the home screen but couldn't find Places Directory. I decided to manually download and install it from the market and that worked fine.
My question is, do I now have a downloaded copy of this app that is just sitting somewhere taking up space? I can't figure out where files downloaded by the browser go to, please help.

I downloaded a couple of .jpg files to use as backgrounds, but then decided not to use them - but left them on the device (not in the original download location however)
A couple days ago I received the 4.3 update from AT&T, which seemed to go off without a hitch. But now, the 3 files I downloaded seem to continue to download. - at least I get a notification that the files are downloaded (3 different notifications).
I deleted the files to see if that would stop it - no luck.
I went to Chrome and closed all the tabs (a couple were still open to the location I downloaded them from) - no luck.
When I get the notifications, if I click on it, it says it can't find the file.If I just clear it off, they come back a few hours later.
How to completely disable navbar when in full screen and use power button as "Back" and long press power means screen off. I want to save some precious screen space and avoid accidentally press navbar when playing games.
Is there a way to do it? I'm on CM10 - FXP - Ion lt28h

One thing that has escaped me thus far despite all my googling and digging through menus and options in the phone is a way to display the full titles of programs. Ie: I'm running Opera Mini and the icon in the applications menu and on my home screen says "Opera Min" and then the text fades off. I would like it to just say "Opera Mini." Eight characters(ish) for a filename is so Windows 3.1, I would think there would be a way to have the full name displayed.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a motorola Droid that has a screen that won't light up. It is still responsive to touch commands (at least I can feel the haptic feedback when I unlock the phone).
I've moved on to a new phone. However, I have the birth of my son on video on the phone(the tasteful portion ). The video is on the internal memory of the phone, yet I'm unable to mount the phone to my PC because I can't see what to touch(I've tried guesstimating where to touch without success). I did save the video to an old pc HD, but that HD went kaput about a year ago.
How to retrieve files from internal memory in which you can't mount the phone by typical means?
I was sitting in a van/car when my phone fell out of my pants and onto the pavement. It was about a 3 feet fall. At first my phone seemed to be ok. There wasn't any scratches or cracks because it landed flat the screen facing up. But maybe about an hour later a small part of the screen was beginning to become dark. This dark area continued to get bigger after a couple of hours and by the end of the day the screen was completely "blacked out".
And silly me was too ocuppied playing with a guitar I had just bought instead of thinking about backing up or copying my important data from my phone, like pictures and notes etc. So later when I plugged my phone into my computer, I found out that I couldn't access the phones files like I would do on Hardisk taken from i.e. a laptop. When I go to Computer on Windows and look for my phone which is appearing as GT-I9100 as a camera and when I click on it says folder is empty. So I realized that I might not be able to get my data from my phone in case I get a new phone from the dealer.
I'm not very familiar with Android devices but I'm wondering if it's because I have a screen lock password that I can't get to the data on my phone?
PS - I'm thinking this is one those classic examples of, "You should have backed up everything on your phone everyday" scenario. Luckly I have most the pictures on my phone transferred to my computer already.
My Samsung galaxy s2's screen reciently got smashed, nothing comes up but I believe the rest of the system works. Now when I connect to my computer it just charges. So I was wondering if there is any way to retrieve my contacts, internet favorites, pictures, and memos without replacing the screen.
