I just upgraded to latest android version but the only issue im having is that certain 4x4 widgets are now only available for the lockscreen rather than the home screen...
Is there any way to get these 4x4 widgets to work for the homescreen like before? Maybe there is a certain mod?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhat has happened to my Lock Screen. Only yesterday I had to upgrade to 4.3 and my Swipe feature on the home screen was working fine. I don't like the pin option, I know there are reasons for it, security etc, but all the threads I have seen say enable multiple widgets or some such thing on lock screen, well after my upgrade it seems it is very different from what others are seeing in their lock screens.
I have tried scrolling left to right on the lock screen - nothing. I have looked through my widgets - nothing. I have attached a screen shot of what my lock screen looks like after the upgrade and I am not even sure how it went from the swipe option to the pin option because I did not intentionally change it knowing I prefer the swipe option.
Okay so I've moved from Sense to launcherPro. Very happy with it, but I REALLY miss the FULL screen widgets that you get with sense.
I used to have the full screen Music App, the Photo App, Bookmarks, and Contacts taking up some of the sense screens. Now I have 3 blank screens in LP that I want to fill up.
Do you guys know of any full screen Apps/Widgets for Music, Photos, Bookmarks, and Contacts?
I use Nova launcher. I am on a moto X inches btw. I'm not tied strongly t move launcher.
Basically, I want to crop widgets like the Google keep widget (u only need quick keep text not the list picture etc) and other widgets. Is there a launcher or a way to do this? I can resize them, but I'd like to crop them
I just rooted my android (LG p500) and was removing bloatware using titanium backup. I accidentally deleted something which caused the homescreen to go black with no widgets showing, I cant even see the menu. I can still see and work with the top bar. When the phone is locked I can see the wallpaper I had but as soon as I unlock it goes black again.

It's very easy to add shortcuts or widgets onto the home screen but I can't find how to delete them. For widgets I can delete the app If I don't want it anymore, but If i still need it how do i take it off.I added a mail shortcut on the home screen, and I haven't been using it since my e-mails are synced. I need the room on my home screen but can't delete it.

I recently upgraded my Moment from 1.6 to 2.1. In general I am thrilled with the newest Android offering for my phone, but I notice that now when I open the "Contacts" menu, my options are only to call or email that contact. In 1.6 on that same screen I had the option to Message them as well, is that something that could be wired back up? I use Handcent for messaging if that makes any difference.

Recently the screen on my droid 3 completely stopped working, and it looks like I am going to have to send in to get a replacement. That said, I don't want to completely loose all of my data. My question is: I got a screen viewer on my computer to display a live feed from my droid, and I am looking for the easiest way to back up as much data as possible. I don't think I can do a nandroid backup because of the broken screen, but I can definitely root and backup using the feed on my computer.

My first video was full screen on the internal memory and then i somehow changed it to save to external SD card the recording problem started (i don't know how to change the save settings).
I have downloaded several pdf ebooks and uploaded to play book via Google play book app. When I try to read them, that pdf files pages are not fully fit to the screen. But when I read the Google play auto added books, they are fitted with the screen height and width. Is it a pdf file issue? If it's my pdf issue, how do I correct them?

I'm greatly annoyed by GoogleDialer's phone app which shows caller picture blocked 50% by black blank area. What files do I have to edit to make picture more bigger or atleast make that blank space disappear?
I know that I could simply get another dialer but I like Google's version. That blank space just bugs me.
Those of you who have root access in there devices may have noticed icons missing on there home screens. If you are wondering why this is due to using Titanium Backup to move apps to the SD card. This only happens with certain apps, usually only the ones that can't be moved from the devices settings. To fix this simply move said apps back to internal storage and all will be well.

Is there another way - eg some settings menus somewhere or maybe a file that I can edit.

I am unable to find in Settings the option for choosing the lock screen widgets.
I enter this option only from the Add button from the lock screen. I have a Nexus 4 with Android 4.2.2.
Where can I find this option?

in some apps (such as VLC, Flash player, the stock video player, etc), there appears to be a small black bar at the bottom where the status bar usually is (even if it's hidden, there's still a black bar). I've had a research and saw a solution app called 'full!screen', however I have no way of rooting the device (It's an Android TV box with no USB output, only input). My current solution is to use MX Player, but it doesn't play 1080p videos properly, so I'd really prefer VLC at this point.

How to completely disable navbar when in full screen and use power button as "Back" and long press power means screen off. I want to save some precious screen space and avoid accidentally press navbar when playing games.

OK, I used the suggested official unbranded RUU from Shipped ROMS to restore my SIM-free and unbranded Desire to stock but it seems that there are various things missing. I have no email widget and there is no Mobile Network toggle widget under Settings>Power control (in fact, there are none of the usual toggle widgets in there). It just seems to be missing other things that I can't put my finger on as well.I'm re-rooting to reset my battery stats anyway so can someone point me towards a file that is, without question, the right file for a UK unbranded and SIM-free Desire? Need to send it back to HTC when I get my Desire HD so they can sort my overheating issue out prior to selling it.
