My Samsung galaxy s2's screen reciently got smashed, nothing comes up but I believe the rest of the system works. Now when I connect to my computer it just charges. So I was wondering if there is any way to retrieve my contacts, internet favorites, pictures, and memos without replacing the screen.

My Captivate wont go past the Galaxy S logo screen anymore and the bottom buttons stay lit. I can get it into recovery mode but I would like to save some pics and vids that I have on the internal SD card. Anyway to save files before I Odin flash this thing? Droid explorer sees the phone but wont show the paths/files.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was sitting in a van/car when my phone fell out of my pants and onto the pavement. It was about a 3 feet fall. At first my phone seemed to be ok. There wasn't any scratches or cracks because it landed flat the screen facing up. But maybe about an hour later a small part of the screen was beginning to become dark. This dark area continued to get bigger after a couple of hours and by the end of the day the screen was completely "blacked out".
And silly me was too ocuppied playing with a guitar I had just bought instead of thinking about backing up or copying my important data from my phone, like pictures and notes etc. So later when I plugged my phone into my computer, I found out that I couldn't access the phones files like I would do on Hardisk taken from i.e. a laptop. When I go to Computer on Windows and look for my phone which is appearing as GT-I9100 as a camera and when I click on it says folder is empty. So I realized that I might not be able to get my data from my phone in case I get a new phone from the dealer.
I'm not very familiar with Android devices but I'm wondering if it's because I have a screen lock password that I can't get to the data on my phone?
PS - I'm thinking this is one those classic examples of, "You should have backed up everything on your phone everyday" scenario. Luckly I have most the pictures on my phone transferred to my computer already.
i think i deleted the wrong files and now my phone won't go back the "HTC ONE" screen. I've done the process of a recovery and then allow the red triangle to come up, from there i know i should hold power + Up, and that should take me to a black screen with blue letters, and i should select something about "partition" but this black and blue screen, i remember seeing it as a thumbnail in a folder i deleted. I thought it was an ad photo saved onto my phone as spam (as the folder was named adSOMETHING) and so i deleted it and now, i feel i have have screwed myself over. I have no way of getting another phone right now. How can i get my laptop to read my phones connection and allow me to copy and paste the files needed to get it running again?

View 2 Replies View RelatedTook a ride on my motorcycle last night with Droid in clip on case on my pocket. Drove about 1 1/2 miles when I realized it had fallen out of its holder. I back tracked and found nothing. Then my wife and I took my truck and went along the same route-nothing. Then (at this point mainly worrying about all the data in it if someone had picked it up) I walked with a flashlight the whole route while looking off the side of the road-still nothing. This morning I decided to take my bicycle and give it another try. About 1 mile from my house I spotted the rubber protector that surrounds the screen still near the edge of the road. I got off the bike and found the main section in a hedge so I have the battery and sim card. About 30 ft further I found the screen folded over and crushed. So I guess the battery and card might be ok but the rest is trashed. This one is insured by Asurion with an $89. deductible. (I ran over my previous Droid with my riding mower just this last May and I had to pay full price for a new one as it was not insured). I started a claim online with Asurion and the Droids are on backorder according to the site. I did this last night and reported it lost and possibly then stolen. Now at least I have the pieces.Does anyone think I might have a chance to get it replaced at the Verizon store?

I have a motorola Droid that has a screen that won't light up. It is still responsive to touch commands (at least I can feel the haptic feedback when I unlock the phone).
I've moved on to a new phone. However, I have the birth of my son on video on the phone(the tasteful portion ). The video is on the internal memory of the phone, yet I'm unable to mount the phone to my PC because I can't see what to touch(I've tried guesstimating where to touch without success). I did save the video to an old pc HD, but that HD went kaput about a year ago.
How to retrieve files from internal memory in which you can't mount the phone by typical means?
I have downloaded several pdf ebooks and uploaded to play book via Google play book app. When I try to read them, that pdf files pages are not fully fit to the screen. But when I read the Google play auto added books, they are fitted with the screen height and width. Is it a pdf file issue? If it's my pdf issue, how do I correct them?

I own a Sony Xperia S LT26i and yesterday i broked my screen/touchscreen. I'm wondering how to recover my files without using touchscreen. The main problem is the unlocking, the phone is functional but i can't unlock without screen to use Sony PC Companion software and access internal storage.
The phone is detected by PC when i'm pluggin' USB cable, i see the partition but i can't see files.

My Motorola maxx has a broken screen, there is no image at all. The device appears to power cycle, and when connected to win 7 there are 2 drives to explore, both appear as unformatted.
How to recover my files ? When I connect my new maxx the folders are also unreadable.
Inverting any axis of input or similar is possible for touch screens on tablet pc? (currently needed for gingerbread 2.3.1)

I would like to retrieve the name of a contact associated with an incoming telephone number. As I process the incoming number in the broascastreceiver having a String with the name of the incoming caller would help my project greatly. I would think this involves a query using the sql WHERE clause as a filter, but do I need to sort the contacts? An example or hint would be of great assistance.
