I'm greatly annoyed by GoogleDialer's phone app which shows caller picture blocked 50% by black blank area. What files do I have to edit to make picture more bigger or atleast make that blank space disappear?
I know that I could simply get another dialer but I like Google's version. That blank space just bugs me.

How to either replace the in call screen or put something on top of it....the only solution I have found thus far is to make my own ROM, which doesn't make sense for such a small portion of an OS. however I found these two apps (Full Screen Caller Pictures and Full Screen Caller ID) that are able to put a contact image and button on top of the standard in call screen.

View 3 Replies View RelatedOn the Droid X, the caller ID which is synced from my Facebook or Google account is very low quality and small in size/dimensions. Is there not a setting to show high res quality and to make it appear larger on the screen? I just switched from the Evo and know that it was a similar issue on there. just curious if there is a known work around for the Droid X. Other than that, I am very happy with this phone so far. The build quality is much much better than the Evo's.

Caller photo almost covered by black screen. You can't see the photo. In miui the caller screen is fully transparent it looks damn nice. So is there any modified apk or any way to make it transparent? Other than using third party app.

When i choose the picture to set as my wallpaper, it asks me to crop the picture which is all ok.... But then once the wallpaper is set, it's spread across all 7 pages. That said, I don't want to completely loose all of my data. My question is: I got a screen viewer on my computer to display a live feed from my droid, and I am looking for the easiest way to back up as much data as possible. I don't think I can do a nandroid backup because of the broken screen, but I can definitely root and backup using the feed on my computer.

My first video was full screen on the internal memory and then i somehow changed it to save to external SD card the recording problem started (i don't know how to change the save settings).
I have downloaded several pdf ebooks and uploaded to play book via Google play book app. When I try to read them, that pdf files pages are not fully fit to the screen. But when I read the Google play auto added books, they are fitted with the screen height and width. Is it a pdf file issue? If it's my pdf issue, how do I correct them?

View 1 Replies View Relatedin some apps (such as VLC, Flash player, the stock video player, etc), there appears to be a small black bar at the bottom where the status bar usually is (even if it's hidden, there's still a black bar). I've had a research and saw a solution app called 'full!screen', however I have no way of rooting the device (It's an Android TV box with no USB output, only input). My current solution is to use MX Player, but it doesn't play 1080p videos properly, so I'd really prefer VLC at this point.

I recently went into my providers shop because my S4 wouldn't let me add Contacts. They didn't have a clue how to fix it so told me I would have to reset my phone. The guy at the desk backed up my pictures and contacts. After resetting it my Home Screen was still the same picture it had been before the reset. Which is fine, it's what I want. Now though, I can't find the picture itself on my phone or storage device. I've hooked my S4 up to the PC and tried to find it in a folder. I can't seem to locate it. Where would I find the picture at on my S4?

I am having to slide the screen down enter the unlock sequence and then see how is calling. I have missed several calls by doing this. I can reboot the phone and it is back to normal. When phone locked pops up who's calling and can answer. Works fine for a few calls and then back to having to unlock phone first. The screen will just flash on and off. I have looked for a setting and can't find one. Any ideas?

Suppose I receive a call on the handset with my app xyz running in the background. All I need is to fetch the Caller's name from the application xyz and display this name as" Akash Calling..." instead of "+91... calling..." assuming that caller's details are present in the application say, his name and none of his details in the actual address book. Is this feasible.

It is not a game, full screen would be just nice to have more space on the screen for GUI elements.
But I have the dim feeling, that a full screen app could break some recommandations for good app design. The developer guide gives no answer to this. Who knows more? I'm learning how to develop on android and it is very important for me to learn it right.
