Feb 21, 2010Does anayone have a good photo viewer other than Photo Viewer and Photo Gallery? I would like to have my photos listed in their prospective folders but the 2 I have don't do that. I switched from the Samsung Moment to the Hero and I know I had a program on the moment that did that but I evidently forgot to backup that program so now I can't remember the name and haven't found anything in the Market that does that.

May 20, 2010Does anyone know of a better VPN app than the stock app for the Moto Droid?
A couple key features that woud make this a great application:
1) Ability to store the password (though not visible)
2) Ability to automatically redial when disconnected.
I hate having to retype my password everytime the network (verizion not work) bumps me off and it is anoying to have the vpn disconnect and not realize it until I haven't gotten any new messages for a while.

Aug 8, 2009I am writing an app which needs to send an Email using the Stock Gmail app. Is there anywhere a tutorial on how to do that? Basically in my app I know the recipient, subject and message context, I want the gmail app not to show up, just send the email.

Apr 6, 2010When I receive a picture in the stock message application it is received as a slideshow. When I click to view, it opens and then after a couple of seconds it closes. Is there anyway of keeping the picture open for longer, other than saving and opening seperately?

Jun 11, 2010I just upgraded to the Evo from the Hero. I was lucky and the store did not record my equipment upgrade last time, so I was eligible at the launch date. I used to use the IM app on the Hero, but it looks like it did not make it to the Evo. Am I missing a stock HTC app and it is now renamed or part of another app? If not, what is my best choice - something like ebuddy? I mainly use Y messenger.

Jun 6, 2010I don't know the name of the method I used but its the one that calls for you to place the file called "PC36IMG.zip" on the root of your sd card and then reboot into the boot loader. I followed the instruction and it seemed to flash ok, but now i'm trying to find out where to find the terminal/CLI so I can delete unwanted stock app like amazon music shop or nascar tv. All the instructions say to open the terminal or CLI and type in a particular path in order to delete the apks that those apps use. The problem is the guides never say where to find the terminal. Is it somewhere on the phone? Is it something I download, do i need to connect the phone to a linux computer to find the terminal?

Jun 26, 2010I've noticed something weird with the stock music app....when I open the app (get the coverflow type view) or use the widget, the cover art for each song is horribly wrong. HOWEVER, if I enter the list view and go to albums in the app, the right art is show beside each album. As well, I installed MixZing music app, and it shows the right albums.

Nov 20, 2009Does it make sense that my alarm doesn't ever go off? No matter what settings I try, it never goes off. It always says "you're alarm is set for 8 hours and 37 minutes from now", yet it never goes off at that time. Does anyone else have this problem? Apr 3, 2010Has anyone tried the BH2 stock email app on BH_Man's Galaxy 1.6 ROM? I'm curious if it works because it synced so well to my work email, while the Galaxy stock email does not. I'm willing to try it out if anyone has the apk. I forgot to grab it before I flashed the rom and I don't want to have to re-flash to TouchWiz, grab it, and re-flash back to 1.6, especially if doesn't even work.
Also, if anyone's interested, here's a link to an Exchange email app that I got to work on the 1.6 rom, but it's not as feature rich. Exchange ActiveSync on your G1! | Nexeo.net. Pre-apologies if anyone has a problem with providing a system apk. But I did pay like $250 for this phone. Please just PM me then.

Sep 22, 2010Now that we installed ChompSMS, we need to turn off the notifications in the stock messaging app so that we don't get two notifications for each message. But I don't find any settings in the messaging app menu so that I can change it there. And I can't find it in the general Settings. So, how do I do this?

Dec 14, 2009Sometimes I'll reply to a text message and my reply will appear above the one I just received. Somehow it gets out of order. Is there a way to fix this? Installed handcent and the order of the messages are fine it just occurs on the stock app but I much prefer the stock app.

Oct 27, 2010I was wondering if anyone has ever tried this new stock music player. I found (here:MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service or Mirror:new stock music.rar in the .rar file I included 2 things;
1. A Program called system app backupper
2: Data file for System app Backupper.
In order to install the new music app you have to either push the music.apk file in the sysAppBackup folder included, or you can fallow these steps.
Warning: I am not responsible for any bricked or broken phones.
*requires root*
1. Download .rar file included in this post.
2. Unzip
3. Copy contents of the "new stock music" folder found in .rar to root of sd card so that the folder titled "sysAppBackup" and the file called com.bg.sab.apk is sitting in the root of your sd.
4. Install com.bg.sab.apk to phone. this will install system app backupper to phone.
5. Open the app you just installed. when open it will ask you if you want to be in "backup" or "restore" mode.
6. Choose "restore"
7. On the screen it will just say "music.apk" (unless you already use the app) click on that to check it.
8. Press the menu button, and than press restore.
9. Restart phone.
10. All done.
If phone goes into boot logo loop, reboot into recovery and than clear cache/dalvik cache and fix permissions! I did not make any of these app, nor know who did. I would give credit to the developers if I knew who they were.

I downloaded the "aura" app for navigation and it worked just didn't like the OS of it. But with that app you have to download the maps so it basically only relies on the phone for the gps signal for location not for the maps. I was wondering if anyone has tried any other navigation apps and if they work better than the stock version?

I've tried the HTC headphones and my own both used to work fine now even through the little headphones or headphones and mic icon is displayed the music still plays through the loud speaker. Its actually playing through both loudspeaker and ear phones.

Jan 16, 2010I am currently running CL14 stock with Open Home and I wanted to let you security conscious folks know about a security issue I discovered. I hit the end button and pulled up my phones lock screen. Decided to test the new emergency dialer and when I pulled that up Open Home had force closed. When I hit end it returned me to the main screen w/o me entering my combination. I assume this could happen with any force closed app so although it's a rare issue that something FCs in the background it is possible and is a security issue. Just a heads up.
