I just upgraded to the Evo from the Hero. I was lucky and the store did not record my equipment upgrade last time, so I was eligible at the launch date. I used to use the IM app on the Hero, but it looks like it did not make it to the Evo. Am I missing a stock HTC app and it is now renamed or part of another app? If not, what is my best choice - something like ebuddy? I mainly use Y messenger.

I have seen other devices (such as the HTC Hero) that have an app called IM, to my understanding this is the Stock Instant Messaging application. Is there any way I could get it on my Vibrant? I really want to try it and see if it can replace eBuddy.

View 40 Replies View RelatedI keep all my instant messengers signed in on my desktop and something on my phone keeps logging in and booting me off of them. I have everything that i can think of turned off like Meebo yet it keeps happening. I checked the battery status to make sure it didnt list anything as running that i didnt notice. Dunno why it keeps happening starting to get kind of annoying.

Meebo, ebuddu, hi aim, yahoo and all that other crap sucks compared to the iPhone IMs. Is there a way to contact google or someone incharge of the market place to add more IM apps?

I'm looking for a good messengering app that can run Face book chat and run in the background. I've tried Meebo and eBuddy but they both seem to disconnect if you leave your phone alone for so long. I want something like BBM that can run in the background and give me a notification when someone is trying to chat with me.

Can you read people's away messages with this phone, if so how? When i get a new IM, i get sent a website browser in the notification along with the the person's screen name who IMed me, but when i click the link, it never loads up and shows an error, anyway to fix this or anything?

View 2 Replies View RelatedNow before I get flood of 'get handcent' and ' get chompsms' responses, I'm letting you all know that I have used both, and I have found both either don't show or don't save pic messages. I'm a promoter so I need to use pic messages, so don't mind the stock messenger since its the only one that works right with pic messaging. The only problem I have with it is that I can't select multiple contact from my list to text at the same time. How is this not a stock feature? If it did that, I would delete the other messenger apps and save very valuable space on my phone.

Whether I select just one person (and therefore one thread) to delete or deleting my entire inbox, my phone locks up, messaging crashes/force closes. My phone is incredibly slow and I'm assuming the plethora of messages is at least partially to blame.

No flashing LED, unchangeable ring-tones or notifications or are full of advertisements. The ex has a Moment with yahoo and I was playing with it and it works perfect, just like on a computer. This phone should have come with a yahoo messenger app already.

I switched to my moment from a sidekick. I use Yahoo instant Messenger a lot and on the SK slide it was flawless. Never lagged or dropped connectivity. I have noticed my android native IM app is sluggish at best and since 2.1 the dropped connectivity isn't so much as issue, I was wondering if any of you have found a YIM app that blows the stock out of the water and/or performs as well as the sidekick IM program?

I was going to download meebo from the market, but just before installing I read a warning that the app could prevent the phone from sleeping. Obviously this would then cause the battery to die faster, which is a concern for me. Does Meebo actually prevent the phone from sleeping? I want a decent messenger app that closes when I log out of my windows live messenger account and doesn't prevent the phone from sleeping and run down the battery.

Shutting down the app only seems to help if it hasn't been open for very long and I normally have to do a complete phone restart to get it back to normal.

A phone call to a friend confirmed they were getting them from me, but I could not see anything back from them. One friend said she sent me over 50 messages throughout the day, to see if I would get one. I was signed in at the time, but never saw any of them. When I got home, I signed in on the computer and was hoping to see a flood of the messages, but nothing popped up. My guess is, the messages were getting sent and confirmed, since I was signed in through the phone, but the app was not displaying them.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI don't know the name of the method I used but its the one that calls for you to place the file called "PC36IMG.zip" on the root of your sd card and then reboot into the boot loader. I followed the instruction and it seemed to flash ok, but now i'm trying to find out where to find the terminal/CLI so I can delete unwanted stock app like amazon music shop or nascar tv. All the instructions say to open the terminal or CLI and type in a particular path in order to delete the apks that those apps use. The problem is the guides never say where to find the terminal. Is it somewhere on the phone? Is it something I download, do i need to connect the phone to a linux computer to find the terminal?

HOWEVER, if I enter the list view and go to albums in the app, the right art is show beside each album. As well, I installed MixZing music app, and it shows the right albums.
