I've noticed something weird with the stock music app....when I open the app (get the coverflow type view) or use the widget, the cover art for each song is horribly wrong. HOWEVER, if I enter the list view and go to albums in the app, the right art is show beside each album. As well, I installed MixZing music app, and it shows the right albums.

Does someone know where I can get the stock music player so I can get touchwiz player? Also why doesn't the album art show up on 99% of my music? I found an app called album art grabber, its 3 dollars though but works perfect!

As a test, I put an mp3 onto my phone, ensuring the album art was in the id (using mediamonkey). However, the art did not appear when playing the song. Any suggestions on how to get album art to work? Or if I'm doing something wrong?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am using windows 7 so the htc sync does not work. I know that there is a workaround for this but I am able to connect Eris through usb and then tap on mount SD card and then drag and drop music files from my pc to my Eris. The problem is that the Eris music app does not show any of the album art. The art is in the files so I don't know why it won't show. I created a folder called music and in that folder is a folder for each artist which contains folders for each album. The art is in each album folder. I tried Mixzing media player for a while and some of the album art appeared but maybe only 25%. I like the stock app if it would just show the album art.

I've tried the HTC headphones and my own both used to work fine now even through the little headphones or headphones and mic icon is displayed the music still plays through the loud speaker. Its actually playing through both loudspeaker and ear phones.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if anyone has ever tried this new stock music player. I found (here:MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service or Mirror:new stock music.rar in the .rar file I included 2 things;
1. A Program called system app backupper
2: Data file for System app Backupper.
In order to install the new music app you have to either push the music.apk file in the sysAppBackup folder included, or you can fallow these steps.
Warning: I am not responsible for any bricked or broken phones.
*requires root*
1. Download .rar file included in this post.
2. Unzip
3. Copy contents of the "new stock music" folder found in .rar to root of sd card so that the folder titled "sysAppBackup" and the file called com.bg.sab.apk is sitting in the root of your sd.
4. Install com.bg.sab.apk to phone. this will install system app backupper to phone.
5. Open the app you just installed. when open it will ask you if you want to be in "backup" or "restore" mode.
6. Choose "restore"
7. On the screen it will just say "music.apk" (unless you already use the app) click on that to check it.
8. Press the menu button, and than press restore.
9. Restart phone.
10. All done.
If phone goes into boot logo loop, reboot into recovery and than clear cache/dalvik cache and fix permissions! I did not make any of these app, nor know who did. I would give credit to the developers if I knew who they were.
I started using MixZing lately and it bothers me that when I try to use the music controls on my bluetooth headphones the stock music app takes over. Is there a way I can disable the stock app (or if I remove it altogether will that cause other problems?)
View 1 Replies View RelatedHas anyone noticed that the stock music player isn't very good at shuffling music? I have my playlist set up, and want it to shuffle while I'm listening at work. It will shuffle, but the problem is that it won't play all the songs on my playlist. I have about 500 on this particular playlist, and in an 8 hour day I will hear the same song 3 or 4 times. In the 3 weeks I've been using it at work, there are some songs that I have *NVER* had come up on the shuffle. I tried turning on just shuffle and not repeat, but same thing. Is there a fix for this, or does anyone have recommendations on a music player that I can download that is better?
** Clarificaion: By "recommendation" I mean more than "Get Product X, it's cool". Why is it "cool"? What makes it better than the other products?
When I receive a picture in the stock message application it is received as a slideshow. When I click to view, it opens and then after a couple of seconds it closes. Is there anyway of keeping the picture open for longer, other than saving and opening seperately?

View 1 Replies View RelatedThis forum and the community has supplied my answers for Missing Album art, I use 'Album Art Grabber' from Market which is good (except compilations find the artist covers instead, but SD card loading is fine bypass) My problem is that my music, once moved to my HTC Desire phone splits into one track per Album (with Cover art =). So a 34 track album, aok in iTunes now lists as 34 Albums with 1 track each.In iTunes its fine. I use DoubleTwist (another fantastic application) to move the music over.Any body else bumped into this problem?

The files play fine, but none of them show the album art anymore (it is just a blank CD image with a little android up top). All of the data should be there as it plays just fine in iTunes and didn't have issues on the iPhone. Is there any way I can get the album art back?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI use MediaMonkey to edit all of my mp3 files so that all my artist, album, year, track number, album art, etc is correct. Today I added an artist (Dub_Fx) with 2 albums and one single to my Droid; the single's album art showed, as well as one of the albums, but the other album's album art isn't showing at all, but I used the exact same method for all of the files. Each mp3 has an imbedded image file saved to the tag, each of them 350x350 images, and none of the mp3 files are protected either. Other programs on my computer show the album art correctly (and I've deleted the images from my computer, just to make sure they were saved to the tag and still show properly), but for some reason it won't show for that one album on the Droid's music player. I've even tried changing the album art to something else, copy over to the Droid, change the album art back, rewrite, and still nothing at all.
