does anyone else have this issue where the deleted emails do get deleted but I get a notification within a minute that says 'new emails' and it will tell me that I have x new emails (x=number of emails I just deleted)but those emails are not actually there, just the notification comes up.I just clear it and all is good but i'm curious if anyone else has this issue.

I�m new to android, so I don't know if this is an android thing or Captivate (came from BB). Every time I check my email from my desktop, it disappears from my phone. Is there a way to keep the emails on my phone until I delete them like the BB?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI go to the trash icon on the email app and go to delete the emails from 2 weeks. It takes FOREVER to delete them all. And I still havent deleted all of them. I go to delete like 4 of them and it takes at least 10 seconds just to delete 4 of them.

When I delete a email on the phone, it deletes it on my email server and deletes it on my office comp. I would like to delete them on the phone but have them remain on the office server. View 2 Replies View Relatedi just got my behold 2 & was so frustrated about not being able to delete all my unwanted emails all at once...what a terrible feature not to have. but i found the solution...just go to market & download the "K9" application & it's done. you can select all emails, then delete AND they don't go to a "junk" folder...they are gone for good. maybe everyone knows about K9 already but i just had to share this wonderful information for anyone encountering this!!

One of my biggest peeves is that I can read, or mark as read, a message and then a few hours later it shows as unread again. I have 4 inboxes and this can really get confusing. View 1 Replies View RelatedI finally got my email up and running. Now two different times my mailbox simply emptied. The account was still there and fine, bu tthe emails just went back to 0/0. They are not in Trash, they are gone. I am not sure what I am doing to make the mailbox empty. I tried switching to K-9 but for some reason when I was using K-9 any attachments came in as dat files and I was unoable to view pdf's or Word docs etc when using K-9. Anyone deal with this yet?

As a past Blackberry user as well I have basic functionality needs of a email app and this may be the deal breaker. I have my Exchange account setup and working however when I open or select an email there is no option to move the email to a folder. So am I blind or screwed! My brother has an HTC Incredible and his has an option to Move. Did Samsung hide it?

2. Is there anyway to get push notifications with emails and facebook. Im always having to check my email to see if I have any.
3. What happens when I fill up all 7 pages with apps? Will I not be able to download anymore?
Reason why I ask is because I have a 25 second video that I recorded with my phone and when I try to send it to my buddy through text message it says that the file is too big? So I said give me your email address and I'll send there and lo and behold the file is too big even for email. smh? It's only 25 seconds!

I can open/view attachments that have been sent to me, however I cannot open/view attachments in email messages that I have sent. I can see the attachment, and it's file extension, but when I click on it nothing happens. There is no open or save button like there would be normally. EDIT: I have read the other threads on this forum referring to issues with email attachments and none of them had the solution to my problem.

My phone's stock gmail app will show new emails so I look at them and then they are all read, showing 0 new.But when I login to the web browser version, 5 minutes or even later(up to hours later), the web browser gmail is not updating to show that I already read the emails.I'm on JH2. Samsung claims that *3282# is the Samsung code to lower the notification volume.
Samsung claims that they are now aware that *3282# is the AT&T code to check our data usage.
Because of this conflict, they claim they will send an OTA fix; but will not state when that will be.
AT&T has been receiving many complaints regarding this problem. Samsung claims they have never heard of this before. Apparently they forgot to log in my call last week?

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo for the past year I have been using a blackberry bold 9700. At the time when I bought the phone, AT&T didn't have any really appealing android offers. Anyway, the captivate came out, and it seemed like finally there was a good, high end android phone for my carrier, despite AT&T's usual bloatware BS. So I went onto craigslist and found some dude who was willing to sell his captivate for 200 bucks + my bold 9700 (side question, was that an OK deal? I feel like a little less money would have been fair).So we met traded, I'm finally on android, I love the phone, but there is one problem.There is an application on the phone called superuser permissions that I can't delete.I found out it's a program used for rooting.Even though I plan to root my phone eventually, I don't want to root it yet (I'll wait until froyo is released for my phone), and I would rather just root it myself and know what I did to my phone, if that makes any sense.
To make matters a little trickier, I use a mac. I can transfer files between my phone and my computer by going into usb debugging, but the samsung only has drivers that work with Windows... I don't know if that's a problem or not but I just thought I'd mention it.
